Jake was so flexible with our ever changing plans due to the unknown of covid initially. He was very accommodating, even when we changed dates, and then ultimately venues. He was also agreeable to adding a second photographer, and then ultimately removing it when we downsized. He was easy to get along with, and my husband and I got along with him from the start. His candid photos were amazing, and we received the edited photos quicker than he promised (probably due to us being his first wedding since the shut down). Highly recommend!!!

Jake was beyond amazing and I'm so grateful we hired him for our wedding. He was super communicative from the start - asking all the right question to understand what we were looking for. He made us both super comfortable the entire time while taking the "couples pic", was very laid-back and calm, and super friendly as well as professional. We also kept changing out wedding timeline and Jake was beyond accommodating and flexible with each change. He also knew the best places to take pictures! We had a small intimate wedding and really wanted to capture some special moments during the dinner - Jake nailed it! Everyone at the wedding just loved him and our pictures turned out amazing! We are so glad we picked Jake!!

We LOVE working with Jake! He's funny, low-key, and super creative with an editorial focus. He blends seamlessly into the crowd, yet produces beautiful pictures. Our images are wonderful, and we could not be happier.

Jake is absolutely phenomenal. His work is stunning, but also deeply personal. There are so many incredible moments I get to relive through his work, and a few I even saw for the first time while I was off talking to people and enjoying. We have beautifully rendered candids and natural looking posed shots and picking favorites was a huge challenge. We've received so many wonderful compliments on the photos.

In lead up to the wedding it looked like we'd have extremely unusual December weather in Chicago: 60 degrees and raining. Luckily we got the 60 and avoided the rain, although a pretty dense fog blanketed the city all day. No worries. Quick on his feet we rerouted from the Museum campus for skyline shots to the beaches up further north. There may be no skyline, but instead there's this glowy mist completely obfuscating the city and area in those shots. It almost looks like we took photos in three separate cities on three different days, truly showcasing what a magical and unique city Chicago is.

Jake was a pleasure to work with before and during the wedding, and I didn't even know he was there most of the time during the event itself. I'll be looking forward to having another excuse to hopefully work with him again.

We began planning our wedding before we were even engaged (thankfully I had a then boyfriend who understood my reasoning why I couldn't be going to grad school, working full-time AND be engaged all at once, haha). Coming out of the wedding with beautifully captured moments was at the top of my "musts" list, so the very first thing we did after securing a venue for our New Years Eve wedding was search for a photographer. After browsing different shooting styles, I settled on the fact that I wanted a documentary style photographer who shot beautiful candids, had excellent color and black-and-white photos and shot impressive outdoor photos in the winter and low-light. After spending hours scouring yelp and many, many photographers' websites, Jake of JPP stood above the rest for us. We met him at his house/studio, looked at several of his albums and were sold.

In the lead-up to the wedding, Jake was both very laid back AND communicative. Together we settled on the types of photos I wanted, the couple photos I must have and the schedule for the day (including backup group shot locations in the event of extremely frigid weather, crazy wind or pouring rain). A lot of photographers try and sell you on paying for a second photographer just to "ensure no moment is missed," but Jake shot by himself, seemed absolutely everywhere and captured every single part of our day beautifully. We were taking photos in 20* cold weather with wind and a massive bridal party, and he effortlessly navigated it all. The photos from everything from getting ready, to the first look and group shots, to the ceremony, reception and dancing were stunning and everything that we hoped for and more. I know, I know, every bride thinks that, but honestly there isn't a single moment that he missed or that I wished that he'd captured differently. I would not hesitate to recommend him for any couple's big day.

My husband and I were lucky enough to have Jake photograph both our engagement session and wedding day. Jake is beyond amazing and a true talented artist. His calm demeanor made us feel so comfortable as we got used to posing for pictures. His ability to capture the candid moments is incredible as well. The day really does go by so quickly, but thanks to Jake we have beautiful pictures that will continue to let us relive it all.

My husband and I both agree that JPP Studios was the best investment we made for our wedding day. You will not be disappointed.

Jake was everything we could have hoped for in a photographer. He was like a sponge, really taking in all our ideas and the vision we had for the wedding. We knew we were in good hands when we saw the proofs from our engagement session. And his eye didn't disappoint on the big day. We took some photos around town (Adler Planetarium, Chicago Theater and in West Loop) and they are truly stunning. In addition, his detail shots are so different, and the photos he grabbed of our ceremony and reception was just as amazing. Most of all, Jake is just a courteous person willing to go the extra mile (like climbing onto a fire escape 23 floors up)!

Jake is in a class by himself. After searching through and comparing close to thirty photographers in the Bay Area, all signs pointed towards Jake.

Not only were his prices amazing. Not only was he a pleasure to get to know with his easygoing style. But, his eye and talent are amazing.
