If you are looking for drop dead gorgeous pictures for your wedding then josh is your man! He was so awesome during the wedding and captured the most beautiful pictures I have ever seen. He listened to everything I wanted and was super chill throughout all of the craziness. I definitely recommend him for any sort of pictures you need. I will be using him again!!

I have worked with Josh at J4 on many occasions. I see the passion and preciseness he puts into his craft. He stepped up to the plate and did amazing at my wedding. My husband and I were married at Centerville Estates in Chico California. Josh (J4Photography) was such a blessing to have as our photographer. He invested time into learning the style of pictures we wanted for our wedding.

The pictures he took truly fit who we are as couple. The day of the wedding he was patient, kind, relaxed, flexible, and super organized. While we were too busy to think about what we wanted Josh orchestrated some excellent scenes and poses. He was ready to deal with all the chaos that comes with a wedding.

My wife and I were married on Montera State Beach near Pacifica,CA. The ceramony was absolutely beautiful! Followed with the most incrediable photo shoot by the ocean. Josh had an incredible vision and created some of the most importaint pictures and memories we will ever own. He is brilliant! Friendly, professional, funny, easy going, and has a artistic way of pulling the scenery into the picture to capture AMAZING moments! I would suggest J4 Photography to anyone for any occasion. Josh Wallace did the pictures for both our engagement shoot and wedding.

Pros:
-Soft-spoken and is willing to work with you.
-Excels in difficult lighting conditions, specializes in attractively color-saturated images (which I like much better than the proliferation of blown-out exposure that is common among wedding photographers), and is willing to mix it up a little creatively, all of which leads to some great shots.
-Takes direction well (For our wedding, he had no problem rolling with our ideas of shots we'd like to try out as we traipsed around downtown, and threw in several of his own ideas, as well.)

FYI for planning purposes:
-The primary photos for first look/wedding party pictures took about 1.5 hours total for 5 locations around downtown.
-Since it is your wedding, his focus is going to be on you, so if you want pictures of guests too, you may have to explicitly tell him (and let him have time to do so).
-I'd say he works best when the group size is limited (2-4), and you will get really a remarkable amount of truly amazing shots of the two of you.
-It's probably best if you have a printed off checklist of family photos that you want to see. We rolled with a list on a phone which was a bit less than ideal.
-Turnaround time to get pictures is about 8 weeks after the event, which seems reasonable during the summertime (even though the wait was excruciating).

Cons:
-Since he is quite busy, there is sometimes a bit of a wait between responses.
-He's a little more pricey than other area photographers (but I think this is a classic example of you get what you pay for).

The Verdict:
We'd recommend him to do your wedding, especially if you want a large number of high-quality magazine-worthy shots at the end.

Josh did a great job on our photos; both our engagement and wedding photos. Wedding days are always hectic, so we prepared a photoshoot list of all the people we needed pictures with. Everything turned out great! The only thing we wish we had were more photos of the same pose, especially the family ones just to make sure (and try) to get everyone looking the same direction and smiling. Overall very satisfied with everything. :)

I've known josh for several years which is why I chose him as my photographer. When I received my engangement photos I had to complain a little because they weren't edited correctly- but they were decent. I was urged by family to let him go and find someone else but I did not listen. He even volunteered to do the video for my wedding because his team was just learning- I didn't think it would be difficult to videotape a ceremony and reception point and record right? Any amateur could do that minus the editing. If I could show you what I received you would drop your jaw in horror. As a photographer he asked what I was looking for- I said I need his first reaction when he sees me- do whatever it takes to get THAT shot- nope didn't get it. There were a couple of lucky shots that he got that are priceless but I had to ask for 300 of my 440 photos to be re edited- mind you I got duplicates of several shots that counted toward that number of 440. It took less than a month for me to receive my unedited pictures on a USB and then after 8 or so months of me checking in with him about the video I got the horror video. I ended up BEGGING him for the raw footage of the video because he was all I had. Still to this day I am waiting on my album that he has not yet delivered. The ONE thing about my wedding that was not perfect was the photographer. If I could re do it I would in a heartbeat. I've grown a human in the amount of time it has taken him to give me what I paid for- and I still don't have everything. Don't waste your money all of the 5 start reviews are from his close friends and family that he put up a contest for to get. They aren't true reviews.
