I had used Jenn Huang for a Maternity Shoot and it was a nightmare. She was charging $1500/hr, which I thought was a ridiculous price, but bc we had saved a lot on our wedding photography and bc this would be extra special being at our parents home, I agreed to the crazy high price tag assuming that high price = beautiful quality pictures. And was I wrong, at a big expense to our pockets. I could've instead bought two strollers with the price. If I was amazed by her pictures, then maybe I wouldn't have been so bothered by her high price and attitude. But after I received them and despite expressing that i was very unhappy, all I got in the reply email "oh well it looks beautiful to me!" and I'm done with my job so you go on with yours, sort of attitude. My husband and I decided it was not worth arguing with a greedy and immoral person, so we just let it go, but to this day, we are furious! especially when there are so many other professional photographers who are flexible and warm and does the shots at half the cost.
She was NOT flexible at all from the beginning, so i should've known. She charged extra $300 for coming down from SB to OC, which I just agreed to. She then said everything has to be paid in cash, or she charges whatever percentage extra for using credit card.
At the day of, I had certain shoots in mind and I thoguht she'd be flexible in waiting for me to change and to get us comfortable. Instead, I felt rushed, and she would make comments like "we only have 15 min left." "are you sure you want to change? we don't have enough time." My dad almost fell once bc he was running around trying to look for his socks, for our final family shoot. she went over 5~10min extra, and made sure we knew she was doing us a favor and made us feel bad by it. Wish I can get at least half the amount back! Such a waste of money and we dont even look at the few pictures she gave us. I only liked 2 shots and there were only around 30 total.
