Jim Appleyard took the pictures at our wedding and we could not be happier with the results. His prices were very fair & reasonable, given the true professionalism of his work. Our guest and members of the wedding party commented how easy he was to work with, keeping his subjects focused with his easy going manner. The picture quality, color and texture is wonderful. Jim also took a few black and white photos, which add to the 'old time' feel, and which turned out to be my favorite. I start everyday looking at a 'timeless' picture of my new bride. Jim was very responsive with having reprints made, most in a short time. We have several pictures throughout the house, and are still commenting on the quality of the photos. He did take several hundred photos, and looking through them is fun, but difficult to select the ones you want to reprint, because there are so many to choose from! The candid pictures of the wedding are great, and our guests commented how well Jim stayed in the background, and didn't interrupt the party! I truly feel that Jim did a great job taking the photos that will provide me a lifetime of memories. A small price to pay for perfection and professionalism. This part of your wedding is not the place to try and save a buck. Jim was reasonable, and worth every penny. I have reccomended him to other friends and family. Stew Leonard, So. Glens Falls, NY

Jim's photos are beautiful and his photos of my wedding make me feel beautiful.

He is equally good at posed photos and candids. The posed portraits are lovely and dignified without being stiff--because Jim is so friendly he puts you at your ease. One candid stands out for me. Jim caught the exact moment I kissed the top of a guest's head, and capturing the goofy look on the his face was worth the price of the whole package.

Keep in mind that Jim is a professional, and will not permit guests to stand behind him while he works. (Googling "wedding photo mistakes" will probably show you why guests can't share the photo ops--they make the wedding party look in all different directions and ruin the photos.)

I have since hired Jim for other jobs where I work and not only have I been pleased with the results, I have often heard from others how courteous and professional he is.

Worst choice. We specifically asked if we were going to get proofs of all the pictures he took (so we could have a smaller, more complete album from which we could choose photos to be blown up). He said "yes". What he didnt tell us was that he was going to stamp the word "PROOF" over everyone's face, my dress and his tux.

The pictures were shot with a 35mm camera, were blown out in most and way too dark in others. He began the day with an assistant, who left after one hour with the excuse of "technical difficulties." None of the pictures came out the way we expected.

His professionalism was average -- he rudely told my family to not get in his way. Several guests commented how unprofessional he was, even years after the wedding.

Please don't make the same mistake.
