Jack is a full-time professional photographer and a member of the National Press Photographer’s Association, Wedding and Portrait Photographers International, and Canon’s Professional Services team. He has developed his distinctive style through freelance work as varied as catalog photography, commercial and tourism shoots, and newspaper and magazine photography.
He has photographed 35-40 weddings annually (mostly in the Charlottesville area) for the past 16 years, and is well known in the community. He also serves as Monticello's event photographer, and house photographer at several music venues.

Excellent photographer
Jack and his second photographer were incredible to work with! From our introductory phone call, I knew that choosing Jack was a great decision. He was incredibly professional, communicative, and put us at ease on our wedding day. I do not love being in front of the camera, but he made it feel natural. I was thoroughly impressed with Jack the day of the wedding and was even more impressed when we received our pictures. I absolutely loved them - and he sent us so many to choose from. We also really liked his hourly pricing and flexibility the night of to extend the time based on how the evening was progressing. I would highly recommend hiring Jack Looney as your photographer!

Exceptional experience, beautiful photos
Jack was outstanding from our first meeting. He worked with us through the pandemic-induced rescheduling process and was flexible with the number of hours we wanted for the day. He and his second, Ashley, made everyone feel so comfortable every step of the way with their kindness and gentle direction, so the wedding photos are natural and don't look forced. Even the photos where I (the bride) inevitably made weird faces look great! Which is a miracle! Everyone we've shared our photos with has been blown away -- and we couldn't be more grateful to Jack and Ashley for capturing so many special moments on our big day. Thank you, thank you. 10/10
