Owned and operated by Barbara K.S. McKenna, daughter of the original builders and owners.
Hyeholde was built as a home and a restaurant in the 1930s by William and Clara Kryskill from several magnificent old barns . It sits today on 4 acres of gardens and winding stone paths. Inside, great waxed beams, slate floors, stained glass windows, tapestries and crackling fireplaces create a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The food is American inspired with a French education and our chefs take advantage of the bounty produced by numerous local farms. The menus usually change seasonally and some ingredients are grown right on the property. A beehive is our latest addition.
The Round Room
The Round Room, Hyeholde’s private dining facility, was built as a home in 1952, redesigned as a cabaret in 1986 and then as a private dining venue in 1991.
The same high quality of food and service prevail in this stone and glass sanctuary nestled into the hillside surrounded by trees and gardens.
It has become the choice for weddings, corporate events and other group functions for 25 - 110 people.

There. Are. No. Words.
The Hyeholde was the first and only venue we looked at for our 10/12 wedding. Matthew and DJ were beyond incredible and quickly responded to every anxiety-filled email I sent and we able to accommodate all requests and last minute changes. On my wedding day, DJ made sure I didn’t have to worry about anything and Matthew helped with all the details (including placing fresh flowers on my cake and fixing my mother’s corsage after it broke). Our ceremony was outside and was the most beautiful setting. The surrounding property served as an incredible background for pictures. We opted for a plated dinner for our guests (spinach salad, filet, chicken, shallot smashed potatoes!!! and broccoli almandine) and everything was delicious. Our guests could not stop talking about how much they enjoyed the food. The Round Room was perfect for our small, intimate wedding. Everything was just perfect and I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Highly, highly, highly recommended!Sent on 10/26/2019

My husband and I knew we wanted an elegant/historic/intimate venue for our spring wedding, and the Hyeholde was the perfect choice! We had 59 guests and used the outdoor garden for the ceremony and the Round Room for cocktail hour/reception. The garden was the perfect backdrop for our nuptials, with greenery all around, even in early spring just a week after a late season snowstorm! Bonnie and Matthew were wonderful to work with throughout the entire process (we started the planning process with Matthew, then Bonnie took over the event coordinator role shortly before our wedding day). Leading up to wedding, and the day of, Bonnie was always there when I needed her, and I felt as if she truly cared about our wedding day, just as much as we did. She is extremely knowledgeable and flexible (we were late the day of due to unforeseen circumstances), and helped me make decisions I didn't even know I needed to make. She ensured everything was set up exactly how we wanted it, without us having to lift a finger the day of. We were so grateful to have a venue that included an events specialist, as it took a lot of pressure off of us and allowed us to truly enjoy the day without worrying about little details. The food and drinks were amazing (we chose to have a plated dinner), with the sea bass with lemon-dijon sauce being a real crowd pleaser. The staff were all super attentive and nice, and our guests commented on the amazing service from everyone at the venue from the valets to the wait staff. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, with multiple different backdrops for photographs. I highly recommend having a ceremony in the garden followed by a reception in the round room as it makes it so easy for everyone to have the events all at the same place. If you're having a smaller wedding in the Pittsburgh area, go with the Hyeholde and Bonnie and you are guaranteed to have the best day ever!Sent on 05/03/2018

My husband and I recently had our wedding at the Hyeholde. The reception was in the Round Room and we had a garden ceremony right outside. This made it very convenient for our guest. The Round Room and the grounds looked beautiful. There were so many wonderful places to take pictures(inside and out). We chose to have a buffet, it included prime rib, chicken Marsala and pasta and everything tasted great. Mathew Haushalter was great and very helpful with the planning. He met with us serval times and answered any questioned we had very quickly. My husband and some of his family have celiac disease. Mathew and his staff were more than accommodating with changes in the food preparation for them. Thank you Mathew and the whole Hyeholde staff for making our wedding day memorable.Sent on 07/27/2017

Photographing one of our recent weddings at The Hyeholde, the beautiful grounds, reception area, and of course the fine cuisine made for a wonderful wedding day experience. Matthew the co-ordinator and staff made for a pleasing atmosphere in a wonderful environment. The Hyeholde is a hidden jewel in the area that is renowned for its historic beauty and upscale amenities. We definitely would recommend The Hyeholde for your next dinner party, wedding or that very special occassion. -John Lokmer - Lokmer Photography Inc.
