I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Hiwi Decor. We contracted for a balloon decor package that included two backdrops, side balloon arches, a white floor mat, cake table, custom birthday sign, and welcome sign. I paid a deposit based on these agreed-upon services.
Two minutes before she was supposed to arrive at the venue, she called claiming her car battery had died. About an hour later, she said she had been in an accident. Unfortunately, the explanations kept changing and did not seem to line up, making communication very frustrating and confusing.
When she finally arrived, she was approximately two hours late. Even worse, the setup was nowhere near what was promised. There were no backdrops, no floor mat, no custom sign, and no welcome sign. The final result was simply balloons attached to a wall.
After I expressed my concerns, she agreed that the situation was unacceptable and promised to refund 100% of my deposit. Since making that promise, she has stopped responding to my messages, and I have not received the refund.
I understand that emergencies and unexpected situations can happen. However, professionalism means communicating honestly, delivering the services that were paid for, or following through on promised refunds. Unfortunately, none of those things happened in my case. I would not recommend this vendor based on my experience.
