We hired Lee to DJ our wedding back in July at the Natural History Museum and he was fantastic!!! We booked the lighting, DJ & Photo Booth package and all were such a hit. Lee was responsive, had great ideas/feedback on floor plans, and made our event flow so smoothly. We felt so taken care of! Thank you Lee, we had so much fun and you helped make our day so special!

I learned of Lee Dyson’s services (Hey Mr DJ) online, and then again through my coordinator. Lee was great. He made the whole picking music process a piece of cake, and for areas I wasn’t sure about he was very collaborative and offered suggestions and feedback. He was really great about reading the crowd and keeping the energy levels up so this bride could dance it up all night with everyone. It was a great night, everyone had a great time, and the music is all part of that. I would totally recommend Lee for your event!

Hiring the DJ was not my task, but as mother of the bride, I was thrilled with Lee and his crew from Hey Mister DJ. During the planning process, he asked the bride and groom for their play list and their “do not play” list, and seamlessly wove their selections into the evening music, reading the crowd like only an experienced DJ can, keeping the dance floor occupied all night. He handled introductions and announcements with ease, no “cheese,” and kept his talking to a minimum. Quail Ranch in Simi Valley is an expansive outdoor venue, and he and his crew set up the sound system for each area - ceremony, cocktail hour, and then reception - perfectly and unobtrusively, including accommodating a live keyboardist for the ceremony. The entire venue, the whole day, had continuous, lovely music as guests moved about. I promise you will be happy and have no worries if you hire Hey Mister DJ!

DJ Lee joined our Company for a zoom video call where he hosted a "Guess that song" game. He did an amazing job, it was super fun and people really cooperated and enjoyed the game! Lee was running it with enthusiasm and a smile. He was super professional, came on ahead of the call, and set up everything, made sure to ask the right questions so that its really perfect and nothing is forgotten! very recommended!! :)

We would recommend Hey Mister DJ for your next event. He played a great mix of music from our playlist and kept talking down to a minimum. He was great at introducing our wedding party and was a wonderful dj for the night.

Anyone who knows me knows that music is one of the most important things in my life. That’s probably why as soon as my husband proposed, one of the very first things I did was start researching DJ’s. And boy, did I RESEARCH! I stumbled joint Hey Mr. DJ and was amused that that was the title of one of the songs by my favorite band. That didn’t matter though because Lee seriously blew the competition out of the water. It wasn’t just his obvious talent or skill, but when he agreed to meet with me and my husband, we felt so at ease with him, as if we were meeting an old friend for coffee. I seriously loved how he didn’t try to push anything on us. He even gave us a book on finding the right DJ to help us make our decision, even if that decision meant hiring someone else (spoiler alert: it didn’t). Putting together the playlist was a breeze. The actual day of our wedding, so many things went wrong. I’m usually the picture of calm and collected, but I was a bundle of stress and nerves. The second the music started though? It was like all of that stress instantly melted away. Lee did a PHENOMENAL job as our DJ and MC. I spent a majority of the night on the dance floor because he really listened to what we/the crowd wanted. Oh and as an added bonus, he did our lighting, too! We didn’t even talk much about it because it was a last-minute addition, but he nailed what we were looking for. Hiring Lee was definitely one of the best decisions we made for our wedding!

We used Hey Mister DJ for our wedding (10/10/19 at Descanso Gardens) and they were AMAZING! Lee (the owner) was truly the most friendly, organized, and thoughtful DJ we spoke with initially--and that definitely remained true throughout the planning process. He really listened to our ideas for the wedding and made excellent suggestions using his breadth of experience! My best advice for those planning a wedding: listen to the experts, especially those who have worked at your venue before! Lee definitely is an expert and we really appreciated all of his help from lighting to music to making sure the schedule for the evening went smoothly! Our DJ (Tyler) was fantastic, too! The dance floor was packed the whole evening and he made sure everything went smoothly by gently and kindly prompting guests to be seated, announcing our entrance, and taking song requests from guests (and making sure he knew our preferences, too!)! The tech was great across all locations (mic for the ceremony, speakers & pre-set playlist for the cocktail hour, sound for the reception, and lighting!) All in all a wonderful group!! HIGHLY recommend!

Working with Lee and his staff were top notch! They understood our needs, were very accomodating and helpful in all our design needs from lighting, to the photo booth but especially the MC and DJ of our reception. Lee was quick to respond and answered all my questions, made me feel very comfortable and took the stress of knowing he had our back and would make our reception flow as needed. I am so grateful that we worked with Hey Mister DJ. I interviewed ~ 3 different DJ services and instantly clicked with Lee! He was willing to work with us on our budget as well as our specific venue needs (i.e. sound equipment outside for the ceremony, uplighting, etc.). On the day of the wedding, we were so blown away by our DJ for the night - Tyler! He was INCREDIBLE. All of our guests came up to us to compliment him and share that he was so engaged, read the room, was professional and seemed to really care about doing a wonderful job and making the event the best night of our lives. We requested Hey Mister DJ to play our wedding at the Hilton DoubleTree in downtown LA. Their music selection was great and they were flexible and quick to make suggestions and changes through the night. Most of our guests are fairly reserved but they were great at reading the room and able to get people on the dance floor all night long. Not to mention their lighting setup made the room look great and really set the right mood for the evening. We had a great time and would definitely recommend them.
