Amazing Services!

We hired Lee to DJ our wedding back in July at the Natural History Museum and he was fantastic!!! We booked the lighting, DJ & Photo Booth package and all were such a hit. Lee was responsive, had great ideas/feedback on floor plans, and made our event flow so smoothly. We felt so taken care of! Thank you Lee, we had so much fun and you helped make our day so special!

Awesome Experience

I learned of Lee Dyson’s services (Hey Mr DJ) online, and then again through my coordinator. Lee was great. He made the whole picking music process a piece of cake, and for areas I wasn’t sure about he was very collaborative and offered suggestions and feedback. He was really great about reading the crowd and keeping the energy levels up so this bride could dance it up all night with everyone. It was a great night, everyone had a great time, and the music is all part of that. I would totally recommend Lee for your event!

True Professional, Effortlessly Reads the Crowd

Hiring the DJ was not my task, but as mother of the bride, I was thrilled with Lee and his crew from Hey Mister DJ. During the planning process, he asked the bride and groom for their play list and their “do not play” list, and seamlessly wove their selections into the evening music, reading the crowd like only an experienced DJ can, keeping the dance floor occupied all night. He handled introductions and announcements with ease, no “cheese,” and kept his talking to a minimum. Quail Ranch in Simi Valley is an expansive outdoor venue, and he and his crew set up the sound system for each area - ceremony, cocktail hour, and then reception - perfectly and unobtrusively, including accommodating a live keyboardist for the ceremony. The entire venue, the whole day, had continuous, lovely music as guests moved about. I promise you will be happy and have no worries if you hire Hey Mister DJ!

DJ Lee from Hey Mr DJ is Great!!!

DJ Lee joined our Company for a zoom video call where he hosted a "Guess that song" game. He did an amazing job, it was super fun and people really cooperated and enjoyed the game! Lee was running it with enthusiasm and a smile. He was super professional, came on ahead of the call, and set up everything, made sure to ask the right questions so that its really perfect and nothing is forgotten! very recommended!! :)

Best. Dj. Ever!

Anyone who knows me knows that music is one of the most important things in my life. That’s probably why as soon as my husband proposed, one of the very first things I did was start researching DJ’s. And boy, did I RESEARCH! I stumbled joint Hey Mr. DJ and was amused that that was the title of one of the songs by my favorite band. That didn’t matter though because Lee seriously blew the competition out of the water. It wasn’t just his obvious talent or skill, but when he agreed to meet with me and my husband, we felt so at ease with him, as if we were meeting an old friend for coffee. I seriously loved how he didn’t try to push anything on us. He even gave us a book on finding the right DJ to help us make our decision, even if that decision meant hiring someone else (spoiler alert: it didn’t). Putting together the playlist was a breeze. The actual day of our wedding, so many things went wrong. I’m usually the picture of calm and collected, but I was a bundle of stress and nerves. The second the music started though? It was like all of that stress instantly melted away. Lee did a PHENOMENAL job as our DJ and MC. I spent a majority of the night on the dance floor because he really listened to what we/the crowd wanted. Oh and as an added bonus, he did our lighting, too! We didn’t even talk much about it because it was a last-minute addition, but he nailed what we were looking for. Hiring Lee was definitely one of the best decisions we made for our wedding!

AMAZING DJ service! Highly recommend!

We used Hey Mister DJ for our wedding (10/10/19 at Descanso Gardens) and they were AMAZING! Lee (the owner) was truly the most friendly, organized, and thoughtful DJ we spoke with initially--and that definitely remained true throughout the planning process. He really listened to our ideas for the wedding and made excellent suggestions using his breadth of experience! My best advice for those planning a wedding: listen to the experts, especially those who have worked at your venue before! Lee definitely is an expert and we really appreciated all of his help from lighting to music to making sure the schedule for the evening went smoothly! Our DJ (Tyler) was fantastic, too! The dance floor was packed the whole evening and he made sure everything went smoothly by gently and kindly prompting guests to be seated, announcing our entrance, and taking song requests from guests (and making sure he knew our preferences, too!)! The tech was great across all locations (mic for the ceremony, speakers & pre-set playlist for the cocktail hour, sound for the reception, and lighting!) All in all a wonderful group!! HIGHLY recommend!

Best DJ in town!

Working with Lee and his staff were top notch! They understood our needs, were very accomodating and helpful in all our design needs from lighting, to the photo booth but especially the MC and DJ of our reception. Lee was quick to respond and answered all my questions, made me feel very comfortable and took the stress of knowing he had our back and would make our reception flow as needed. Highly recommend!

I am so grateful that we worked with Hey Mister DJ. I interviewed ~ 3 different DJ services and instantly clicked with Lee! He was willing to work with us on our budget as well as our specific venue needs (i.e. sound equipment outside for the ceremony, uplighting, etc.). On the day of the wedding, we were so blown away by our DJ for the night - Tyler! He was INCREDIBLE. All of our guests came up to us to compliment him and share that he was so engaged, read the room, was professional and seemed to really care about doing a wonderful job and making the event the best night of our lives. Excellent experience

We requested Hey Mister DJ to play our wedding at the Hilton DoubleTree in downtown LA. Their music selection was great and they were flexible and quick to make suggestions and changes through the night. Most of our guests are fairly reserved but they were great at reading the room and able to get people on the dance floor all night long. Not to mention their lighting setup made the room look great and really set the right mood for the evening. We had a great time and would definitely recommend them.

Simply- Awesome!

Lee was just super. He knows the tempo and reads the room very well.
He was very easy to work with and he will give you ideas and options to make your reception go without a hitch. Lee's mixes were awesome and he kept the room on the floor when ever needed. And he is a great MC as well. I will use Lee anytime I have a function in the future and his price is very reasonable. I'm very glad to have found Lee.

Lee is a total pro!

We got numerous compliments on Lee’s song selection. He absolutely killed it, from cocktail hour to late night dancing. He knows how to read the crowd and he is an awesome MC was well. You won’t find that he is on the mic too much, but he knows when to be vocal. He was instrumental to the success of our wedding when we had to revise the timeline a bit due to a food vendor issue, but he didn’t miss a beat. He is friendly, professional and just an all around pro at what he does. Lee, we can’t thank you enough!

Lee is the man! He thinks of everything so that at the wedding you are fully prepared. Everything from pronunciations & emphasis of people's names to having a very clear timeline (that is easy to set up with him) makes for a stress free wedding and a night of fun! During the wedding, Lee would always check in with us and make sure that we are ready to move into the speeches or move into the dances or move into the cake cutting, etc. This allowed us to be in control instead of having a rogue DJ that had their own schedule. This was super professional and courteous.

He played all the specialty songs that we wanted, and he asked us for a general ideas list of the other type of music that we wanted. Be sure to be very clear about what is a must play vs. the general ideas list. We made sure that the last 3 songs were must play, and he was sure to play them.

Throughout the event, Lee went around and made sure that the speakers were the right level and that everything was working and not too quiet or too loud.

During the ceremony, he mic'd the quartet and mic'd the officiant. Providing a mic for the quartet is a MUST! This was his idea, and it was so much better having them amplified. Both our venue loved him and the wedding planner loved him as well.

He is a genius at reading the crowd and choosing the PERFECT next song. He kept everyone dancing and singing the entire night.

Lee strung together a playlist which kept people moving all night, which was formulated from some Skype meetings months before, as well as surveys, and an email requesting "must play" and "DON'T PLAY" lists. He was vocal, but not OVERLY vocal, felt very natural.

Most important to use was when the food vendor delayed service, he was able to keep the evening flowing flawlessly, taking peoples attention off of the slow service and on to having a good time. Honestly, a huge lifesaver, and I'd recommend him 100%.

DJ Jimmy was an absolute blast to work with. He was very responsive to emails and last-minute changes. He put together a killer set for the reception that everyone loved! He sang a few songs during dinner which delighted all the guests and made my father/daughter dance even more special by singing my dad’s favorite Frank Sinatra song! I could not recommend Jimmy and Mister DJ more!!

I knew I wanted to work with Lee right from the start, and he really blew us away with his video proposal. He was familiar with our venue and that helped seal the deal. We wanted someone with experience who understood what we were looking for with an eclectic crowd of kids that grew up in the nineties and family who loves Latin music. Lee was able to keep the crowd dancing all night (including myself, who had a broken ankle). He was never cheesy and was a great MC. To top things off he created an extremely sweet video that was completely unexpected and one of my favorite things captured during that day. Best wedding DJ of all time!!

Brilliant experience from start to finish! We had a beach ceremony and a reception inside Shutters on the Beach Hotel, Santa Monica. All the guys at Hey Mister DJ we’re reliable, fun to work with and provided incredible recommendations for the lighting and sound (outside on the beach with wireless microphone / speakers and inside the venue). Every guest was up and dancing throughout the whole party - we were having so much fun on the day that we extended the party so we could dance more. Brilliant, guys. Thank you SO much!!!

I can't tell you how much we enjoyed your participation in my Birthday Party. The music was great...you can always tell how well the DJ is doing by the number of people dancing. I think we had almost everybody up at one point....even some people who don't dance! Thanks again for adding the dancefloor lighting. It was generous of you and added much needed atmosphere. Lee was incredibly responsive in our planning stage, fair in price, and extremely experienced in his work and in understanding how people are responding to the music he's playing and learning to adapt. My experience with Lee during my wedding was exceptional. He had also worked extensively with our wedding coordinator, who had recommended him, so we thought we were working with someone who could be trusted to work our wedding. I discovered Hey Mister DJ at my wedding venue's tasting night, and I am so glad they were there! Lee the owner was incredibly helpful, and perfectly understood my music genre concerns....I had a great feeling that they would be able to totally nail the vibe my husband and I were hoping for. Lee DJ-ed for my wedding at Descanso Gardens, in the "hard to DJ-at" Boddy House. From personal experience, my husband and I were nothing but impressed by his professionalism. He is honestly a professional businessman.

If you want Lee to DJ your wedding, call, text, email....book him NOW. Yes, he is AMAZING and even made my husband and I a playlist after the wedding because he knows how much I love music!! He books up fast, and he's a great businessman. You can check out his Kindle book on Amazon for resources and tips, just to get an idea of how awesome he is.

Hey Mister DJ is his company. He pulled up in his cool black minivan, set up all his equipment, and DJ-ed the hell out of my wedding. He'll do the same for you!

Lee is a HUGE part of the reason our wedding (July 2017) was so awesome. His music (and lighting!) kept people on the dance floor way longer than I ever could have imagined. In fact, I saw friends and family -- people I've literally never seen dance before -- be persuaded to let loose because it may literally be impossible to sit still when Lee is DJ'ing.

I should add that Lee is incredibly professional, unobtrusive and he gives great advice. In short -- you want this guy on your team for every event where you want people to have fun. Five hugely enthusiastic stars!!!

We keep getting comments about how amazing our DJ and his music were. Lee sent us DJ Patrick and he was great. I don't generally write reviews, but DJ Chris was so great on our wedding day, I feel like I have to. There was a white-knuckled moment when we had our first DJ drop out on us late in the game but DJ Chris swung in and saved the day. From the first meeting, we could tell we were in the hands of a true professional, not to mention someone who really enjoys his work. On the day of the wedding, his cues and playlists were absolutely seamless, and he was perfect on the microphone – that is, he kept the party moving and lively without being cheesy at all. I saw friends out there dancing who NEVER dance. That tells you something. I recommend DJ Chris to anyone with no hesitation at all.

Lee went above and beyond for my wedding this past June!! He was so helpful in putting together all of my song suggestions in a way that flowed with the night. The location of the dance floor at our venue was not the most conducive to dancing, but I credit Lee with reading the room and getting everyone really excited to dance. We danced the night away and could've continued for even longer. I would highly recommend Lee to anyone looking for a professional, kind, thoughtful and genuine DJ!!

Lee is a pro and a breeze to work with. After we first met him, we immediately felt confident in his expertise and ability to work a crowd. I was very particular with not wanting a stereotypical "cheesy wedding DJ" and Lee is totally cool, no cheese at all. Lee did a great job of pulling songs from our playlist while adding in some of his own (great) choices when he felt like it was needed. So many of our guests commented on how much they loved the music at our wedding! Also, the lighting package we ended up renting through Lee worked out great. It really brought an otherwise boring room to life. There were many things I was stressed about leading up to the big day, but the DJ was not one of them - I had full confidence in Lee and he really did a wonderful job.

We used Hey Mister DJ for our wedding and it was a great choice! Unfortunately Lee was already booked but we used Chris and he was AMAZING!! The dance floor was packed the entire night! Some guests even complained that they didn't eat as much as they wanted to because they were too busy dancing! Chris played exactly the type of music we wanted and did a great job reading the crowd. Just had my 50th birthday, and hired Hey Mister DJ. Our DJ was Mark, and I have to say he was absolutely fabulous!! I didn't have time to get a playlist to him, so when he arrived, he felt out the crowd, and seriously played everything I loved!! He kept the momentum going, and we ended up keeping him until way past his quitting time. If you are looking for someone to make your event memorable, I suggest you hire them!!

Lee or Hey Mr. DJ was one of many DJ's my wife and I were looking at for our wedding. However, after meeting him at his warehouse, we were quite sure he would be able to accommodate what we were looking for. Since our wedding took place in two ballrooms at a hotel, DJ Lee provided the uplighting, custom monogram, speakers and dance floor lighting. His creativity showed and all of our guests said it was a fantastic wedding! He's extremely professional and personable when you meet him,. I had a small list of music prior to the wedding, but Lee took that list and added what he felt the crowd would like based on how the night went. Fantastic for us and made it easier for us too. Lee was able to handle our crowd and made them comfortable through the whole evening. I'm glad our friend recommend DJ Lee and I look forward to recommending him to my family and friends if they ever need a DJ that is without the cheese! Cheers!

Lee was the best. I could not have asked for a better DJ! My husband and I love music and love dancing so having an amazing DJ was of extreme importance to us. Lee killed it. He totally got our vibe and taste in music. We got compliments throughout the night (starting during cocktail hour) and still get compliments from our guests months later. Every single one of our guests from my 93 year old grandmothers to my 2 year old niece danced and most of them barely left the dance floor. It was the dance party of a lifetime! He also did lighting for us (something I was hesitant about/not convinced that we needed) and it ended up being amazing. Some uplighting as well as lighting for the dance floor really created an inviting atmosphere without being club-like or cheesy. Lee really knows what he is doing!

Lee was excellent! He is a fabulous DJ! He did an amazing job of reading the room and kept everyone on the dance floor all night. We had such a great time that we actually decided to extend our reception an extra hour because no one was done dancing yet. He's great with crowds of all shapes and sizes and did a wonderful job of appealing to all tastes in music. He also DJ'd a friend's wedding of mine and was equally wonderful. A bad DJ can ruin a reception, make the smart call and go with Lee! You won't be disappointed. He also has good deals on lighting if you need that. He was half the price of the lighting offered by our venue.

Lee and DJ Chris with Hey Mister DJ were wonderful to work with. I wanted my reception to be a dance party and they ensured this was the case. Leading up to the event, both were responsive and also provided me with several recommendations to consider as this is their expertise. They also worked seamlessly with my photographer to make sure photos were properly lit, etc. Overall, I would work with them again in a heartbeat and would highly recommend this vendor to anyone looking for a DJ for any special event.

Chris from Hey Mister DJ did the music for our ceremony and reception. Lee (the owner) came highly recommended to us from several wedding vendor sources, and we were so happy that we had them do our wedding! Chris was great about listening to what we wanted the vibe to be, and totally nailed it! At the reception, he played awesome music and gauged the crowd correctly so much so that we actually broke the dance floor because there were so many people dancing! This lasted for 4 hours! Chris and Lee were both very professional and responsive, and Chris is a total sweetheart and very respectful when taking requests from guests. All in all, my husband and I thought this was an amazing choice and can't recommend them highly enough!

DJ Mark came to play music at my 50th Birthday Party and was terrific! All of the arrangements - including payment - was handled on-line and was very easy & convenient. Mark played music from the playlist that I created and also took requests from the 85 guests in attendance. Everyone had such fun - we went an extra hour later into the night and Mark was very accommodating! Great service - I'd use them again for sure :)

Lee was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. He was always responsive, provided his own great ideas and, above all, created exactly the type of party atmosphere we were going for. I have been to a number of weddings before and was always disappointed that by the end of the night the dancing had long died out. Not with Lee. Lee was incredibly easy to work with and did a great job at our wedding. He played everything we asked and put together a great playlist. My same-sex husband and I were so pleased that we chose Hey Mister DJ for our wedding on a yacht. Both Lee and Chris were easy to work with and answered all our questions in a timely manner. DJ Chris provided the music and lights for the ceremony and reception. He worked very well with the ceremony singer, whom we decided to use after we had already met with Chris. He also didn't play songs that we asked him not to play (even though guests requested them--Chris totally understood that this was OUR wedding, not our guests'). People stayed on the dance floor throughout the reception! The songs that needed to be cued were done perfectly. Chris came early to set up the equipment and was dressed professionally during the event. He was outgoing and very personable with the guests, as well as, us. I would highly recommend using Hey Mister DJ and specifically, DJ Chris.

BLOWN AWAY and expectations exceeded. I am super particular about music and I wanted to create a SPECIAL day for myself (my groom let me run the reception music for the most part! Mostly 80s, yeah! My groom got his beach vibes for the ceremony.) And Chris from Hey Mister DJ handled it with such professionalism. He more than catered to my needs but ALSO, totally felt the vibes of the room and filled the gaps and was just...beyond amazing. Every turn, every corner I took- I was in love with how EVERYTHING he did turned out!!!! The music was VERY important to me and I was blown away by his talent, skill, and ability to read the room. And to also work SO SEAMLESSLY with my wedding timeline.
The lights, the AV also went off without a hitch too- major thanks to Chris at Hey Mister DJ for helping to coordinate everything. I am telling you- this is the best DJ experience EVER. Would recommend 100 times over and over.

My husband and I are so happy that Lee Dyson was the DJ at our wedding! He was great with communication, from the first time we contacted him many months before the wedding, all the way through the big day. When we talked to him on the phone and in person, he was very friendly and made us feel comfortable right away. To top it all off, he is an awesome DJ! My husband and I both love to dance, as do most of our family and friends, so it was very important to us that our reception be a super fun dance party. It definitely was! The music during dinner created just the mood we wanted, and after dinner the dance floor was immediately packed. It stayed that way until the last song of the night. We also had several specific requests for different moments during the night, and Lee made it all happen with ease, exactly the way we envisioned. He is a total professional. All of our guests kept telling us how much fun they were having, and we felt the same way. We highly recommend Lee and Hey Mr DJ!! Lee was absolutely great to work with. My partner and I are a same-sex couple and it was very important to us to find vendors who were supportive of the LGBT communitiy and who understood that our ceremony/reception would be different than other weddings. He was totally supportive, and really helped us to create an unforgetable day. He really knows music and did a great job of helping us shape the reception so everyone had a great time. Many guests remarked at how great the music was. Lee helped us with the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. I didn't have to worry about a thing. He was very professional, super easy to work with, and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend him to anybody (LGBT or not) looking for a DJ.

Lee at Hey Mr. DJ was so fantastic at our wedding! He's extremely friendly and personable when you meet him, and so helpful with working through your wants and needs for the big day. We worked on a small list of must play/don't play/optional songs and he made sure to take everything we wanted into consideration, and then learned from our tastes to craft the perfect mix for us. He's flexible on your day and can easily roll with any changes or last minute needs, and so many of our guests came up to me to compliment me on the music - coming from a huge family that goes to a ton of weddings and all love to dance (until they practically kick us out) that's a big compliment! Lee was able to handle both the ceremony and receptipn which made things a million times less complicated since we didn't have to coordinate musicions, and we could customize everything to a T. He's is professional and just a really nice guy to put you at ease on your wedding day. Can't recommend him enough!

Hey Mister DJ is a great company! We had Lee at our wedding on September 22nd at calamigos ranch- he did SUCH a great job! We had a pretty eclectic group of people, my family is from Argentina and my husband's family is from Boston! So you can only imagine how hard it would be to play music that everyone can relate to. He really made it so that everyone at one point had music they felt comfortable dancing to, and at one point even played a song that was huge in Argentina and all my cousins were so excited! I didn't even know the song and it wasn't on my list, this just shows how good he is at reading a crowd. He is also really skilled at last minute changes, during the wedding I told him I didn't want people to join in on our first dance, but last minute I got nervous and did a hand motion and he totally got it, it was so seamless and made me feel so relaxed. I would recommend Hey Mister DJ to anyone planning a wedding or event! It's obvious he knows what he is doing and is a very pleasant and professional person to do business with. Thank you Lee!!

When looking for a DJ for our intimate wedding we didn't have to search for long once we saw Lee perform at another function we attended. That function was a lot larger than our intimate wedding but he seems to have a unique gift of making every room feel the right size for the occasion.

From the very first point of contact to the follow ups after the wedding he was extremely professional. A lot of our other vendors were hard to track down sometimes or just difficult to deal with but Lee was a pleasure to work with. We had to explain once what we were looking for and he was able to use his experience to interpret our requirements correctly.

The day of the event he showed up as planned and everything went off without a hitch. He had people dancing and kept everything moving smoothly throughout the night. He was able to dig up all of the weird and unusual songs we requested and was a fantastic help for all our worries about our first dance and anything else music wise.

I really could not recommend Hey Mr DJ enough to anyone in the market to hire musical entertainment for any type of event.

My husband and I met with Lee for our initial consultation ad loved him! He is young and hip yet very, very professional. Lee was always accessible for any questions I had and understood the I just wanted everyone to have fun on the wedding day. Our guests didn't stop dancing until the very last song at midnight and enjoyed all of the tunes. Lee really knew how to read the room and I couldn't have asked for a better party! Hiring Hey Mister DJ was one of THE BEST decisions we made for our wedding day. We cannot recommend DJ Chris enough – he did a great job of taking our song direction list (see list at bottom of review) and creating a playlist that fit the mood and atmosphere perfectly throughout the entire night. My husband and I envisioned our beachside wedding as a romantic, relaxed ceremony/cocktail hour with a kickass reception/party for everyone to enjoy. We hired Hey Mister DJ to provide music for the dinner and reception and DJ Chris truly delivered. For weeks after the wedding we had guests of all ages telling us how great the reception music was – everyone was dancing the entire night (including my grandmothers) due to DJ Chris’ great job of reading the crowd. Out of all of the DJs I have heard/seen at weddings, I honestly think DJ Chris is the best. I would not exaggerate about this – I usually don’t review vendors, but we were so happy with DJ Chris we wanted to provide feedback so others may enjoy the same experience.

On top of everything, DJ Chris went out of his way to meet us in person before the wedding to ensure we were all on the same page. Additionally, Hey Mister DJ is affordable and well worth the money.

Top marks for Hey Mister DJ and Lee! Lee was recommended by both friends and the people working on our wedding and they were right. We didn't want to put a lot of time into detailed playlists, so we gave Lee just a handful of inspiration songs and let him run with it. And he did, the music was on point all night! He worked with a circus troop we used providing background music for their performance. He took a special mix we created for first dance and worked with us to get everyone on the floor for an impromptu flash mob that was a highlight of the night. DJ Lee of "Hey Mister DJ" did such an AMAZING job on our
wedding day! He by far exceeded our expectations and was very affordable. We had a very unique theme last minute for our wedding. Since our wedding was the same night as the oscars, we incorporated an oscar theme. I feel in love with a movie soundtrack that I wanted to use for the entire processional and was told by our coordinator that it wouldn't work because it was too short, but lee found a way to loop the song and inserted the grand entrance part of the song (that I loved most) for my entrance seamlessly. We also introduced our wedding party oscar style. Everyone was introduced with an award. For example, "and for best actor in a supporting role, best man: Jason....!" And Lee played a movie soundtrack as each person collected their award. Lee was so great at meeting with us to make it all work and even added to it by playing movie soundtracks throughout dinner --GENIUS!! He kept the party going after dinner too, there were always people dancing and everyone kept telling me how it was the best wedding that they had ever been too. I was told before the wedding that I should
expect at least one thing to go wrong--that could not have been further from the truth. My wedding was beyond perfect!! I was blown away and it truly was the best night of my life.

DJ Lee is the "DJ without the cheese!!" Very efficient and thorough. I'm very meticulous, he performed perfectly. He delivered everything on point, no hassle, no complaint, and extremely professional. You will not be disappointed. I was hesitant at first to use a DJ and not a band, I'm glad I chose Lee. He made choosing music easy, gave us lots of recommendations and this thoughts and experience, which he has plenty of. The music background is well-versed, he knows a lot of genres out there, huge collection of music. We couldn't find enough songs to complete our time for cocktail and reception hour, he was able to do that for us and change the genre or theme. He's not your normal DJ, he's a professional music master that performs at events. He doesn't miss a beat when it comes to your wedding!!

Hey Mister DJ was absoulty the best move we made in makling our wedding just that much more special. Richard was our DJ and he had everyone dancing from start to finish!! He made our wedding a fun and unforgetable night!! I also got my lighting done with them and it gave my reception the exact feel I was going for, and just added a beautiful touch to everything. We knew we wanted a DJ for our wedding and our number one thing is we did not want anyone 'cheesy' or someone who wouldn't connect well with our guests. We met with Lee about 7 months before the wedding and he was so great, totally understood what we wanted for our music, really listened to us and provided us with great ideas for our ceremony and reception. We communicated throughout those months and in several telephone conferences before the big day. The day of could not have gone better! We provided him with a list of songs that were 'must play' and he hit all of those, and most of our 'try to play' list. We also had both American and Persian music at our wedding and he was so agreeable to helping us with playing both and really read the crowd and knew when to play what. We have had so many people tell us that ours was the best wedding they had ever been to, and the music by far made that happen. We danced all night long! I would HIGHLY recommend Lee for your event with no hesitation. Thanks again for such a great night!!

We hired DJ Richard for our wedding, and he did an amazing job! The night went smoothly and there were always people out on the dance floor. He did a great job making sure that night flowed and that all the music that we requested was played. We could not have asked for a better DJ!

I have to admit that when looking for a DJ for my wedding, the biggest deciding factor to choosing Hey Mister DJ was their amazing professionalism. From the start, Lee was super helpful and made sure we had any resources necessary for choosing a good DJ. Our wedding venue was excited that we we had chosen them as well and had nothing but additional great things to say. DJ Chris was our DJ for the wedding and from the first meeting was very nice, professional and responsive. He did an amazing job with the music selections. Especially the ceremony. My guests were blown away that there was an instrumental version of Sweet Child of Mine and loved it! It fit in so perfectly. He played a great selection of music all night and had everyone on the dance floor during at least one point in the night. He was also REALLY great at not playing the songs that I didn't want to hear even though he was bugged about it quite a lot by some of my bridesmaids. I would definitely recommend DJ Chris and Lee to anyone looking for a wedding DJ.

So happy with the service and experience! Had several guests comment on how much they liked the DJ and I imagine it had a lot to do with the mix of music and ability to keep the party going. Very pleased and would absolutely recommend him to others getting married! Fantastic!!!!

DJ Chris of Hey Mister DJ played a huge role in making sure everyone had a fantastic time at our wedding. His musical selections, timing, professionalism, and warm and personable approach to our friends, families, and other vendors made for a wonderful night of good times that completely exceeded our expectations.

I picked Hey Mister DJ after reading reviews online. I'm so glad I hired them! Our DJ was Chris, who was awesome. They are super easy to work with and Chris was just great. We aren't that into music, so he really did all the work for us after we gave him on a few songs for guidance. I absolutely recommend them if you want to have a blast at your wedding.

Richard was the DJ and MC for my wedding. He also provided lighting for the dance floor. From first contact he was always friendly and very professional. He was great at keeping track of what he was responsible for (e.g. what songs to play, announcements, etc.) as well as providing appropriate suggestions with the reception timeline and flow. Even when I was lagging in providing him the music and info he needed during the planning period, he was very patient and accommodating and never neglectful. Not only that, on the actual reception day we made a number of changes to the timeline and he adapted seamlessly in real time. Any number of things could have gone wrong but he kept the flow of events running beautifully. As an MC he did a great job of maintaining a vibrant atmosphere. Working with Hey Mr. DJ in general was a very good experience and I recommend working with them for your wedding.

Working with Lee from Hey Mister DJ was a wonderful experience. I didn’t think I would dance so much at my wedding. But I enjoyed the music he played so much, my friends and I had a blast on the dance floor! I would recommend him 100%!

Lee and Chris were very professional from start to finish. Chris met with us the day before the wedding to run through our dos/donts, playlist, etc., one last time giving us a piece of mind that we did not need to worry about him. The day of we couldn't have asked for a better MC and DJ. Chris came dressed professionally and ran through all ofthe proper cues without rehearsal or promoting. We never had a concern. Dinner music was great, first dance was perfectly timed (as requested) and he kept the dance floor going all night and then some.

Lee Dyson (Hey Mister DJ) was awesome. Lee is incredibly professional, talented and accommodating. He had a great understanding of what we were looking for in terms of music and matched it perfectly for the event and our guests. We also liked how he was able to be make the music a big part of the wedding/reception without having the DJ be the focal point.

Lee carries a wide, deep spectrum of music and is able to play to any type of setting or crowd. In addition to the vast library of music he has online on his website, he also capable of getting a hold of the hard to find songs as well.

We are so pleased that we found Lee to be our wedding DJ. We really couldnt have made a better choice.

Lee Dyson at Hey Mister DJ was an absolute pleasure to work with on our New Year's Eve wedding at Cicada.

Before the wedding, he was very accessible for my many questions and he was very timely in his responses - both email and phone. He provided great recommendations on lighting (he even provided video links of other weddings, both at our location and others, so that we could really visualize his recommendations) and music for all parts of the wedding.

Lee also worked well with our day-of coordinator. Our coordinator had put together a timeline for us, but after Lee saw it, he had some suggestions that made the flow of the evening much better.

At the wedding, Lee was awesome. We had given him a general idea of what types of music we wanted, and he knocked it out of the park! We got so many compliments on our music! People even asked for our play list! And we had people up and dancing all night long - just what we wanted! And his MC'ing was perfect. He facilitated the evening, he wasn't the star of it.

Since this was a New Year's Eve wedding, I had a vision of showing the ball drop from Times Square at midnight. Lee had never done anything like this before, but he was willing to work with us. We did most of the legwork (set up a slingbox from our Dish network subscription to run on our laptop, and project on his screen), but he certainly facilated it happening at the right time (can't be 5 minutes late for this!) while we were off on the dance partying with our guests. We didn't want the TV's cheesy count-down audio (not a huge Ryan Seacrest fan), so Lee did the countdown and it was fun, and cheese-free, just like I imagined!

I cannot recommend Lee highly enough!

Lee of Hey Mister DJ did an awesome job at our wedding! He kept everyone on the dance floor (the entire wedding reception even broke out into a group kick line at one point- I'm talking ALL the guests :-) and he even had incredibly helpful suggestions when it came to lighting, etc. One of the things that I most appreciated was that he called me several days before the wedding and spent quite a bit of time reviewing the timeline with me, clarifying a few points, and answering any questions that I had. When you're a bride, this is HUGE. You want to feel like your vendors have everything covered and we definitely felt incredibly confident with Lee and Hey Mister DJ. We wish we had another huge celebration coming up so that we could hire him all over again. (Until then, we'll just keep recommending him to everyone we know that wants to throw a fabulous party!).

DJ Chris was great. He was the perfect DJ for my event at Shutters on the Beach. He played an awesome collection of songs off of my requested list, he followed the itinerary my planner provided him with perfectly and his energy was great. He was the perfect amount of presence at the wedding too. My husband and I are both really happy with him and the company. We got responses immediately to all emails and questions leading up. Thank you guys so much for helping make the wedding wonderful.

If you are looking for a Dj who can rock the dance floor, read the crowd, and help coordinate the evening, look no further. Lee Dyson, Hey Mister DJ was fantastic. My husband and I were specific about the type of music we wanted him to play and to not play, and the moment we met him, we had no more concerns. We knew from his vibe that he would be PERFECT for our wedding! Our guests are still talking about how awesome our party was, because the dance floor was packed from the first song to the final notes of the last song. Lee was great to work with from the start. He was professional, understanding and he helped keep us to our timeline, which was really important to us. We highly recommend him!!!!

We loved everything about DJ Lee Dyson. Prior to the event, he was very responsive to emails-responding within 24 hours or sooner. He is every bit a professional and strives to give you the experience you want at your event-which he delivered and THEN some at our wedding. Our guests were all talking about the music selection, the DJ and how fantastic it all was. Truly, I am not exaggerating when I say the dance floor was packed all night-we even extended the party we were having so much fun thanks to Lee!

Hiring Lee was one of the best decisions we made in our wedding planning process. He was so easy to work with and very responsive. He delivered exactly what we wanted, and exactly what he advertised, great music without the "cheese." So many of our wedding guests gave us compliments on the music and raved about how great he was. Not only was Lee a great DJ during our wedding, but he invested a lot of time into our event. Our wedding was held at the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles, and he went out of his way several times--whether it was for a vendor meeting or to scope out the scene. He has good taste in music and knows what it takes to get the party started (and to make it last all night). I also appreciated that he kept the ceremony and reception flowing, but wasn't ever intrusive on the mic like other DJs can be. Thanks, Hey Mister DJ!

When looking for a DJ, the most important thing was finding one with personality, but one who didn't go over the top with announcements and exaggerations. Basically, no CHEESE! From the moment we met Lee, we knew we found the right guy. Not only was he professional, he knew his music. He walked us through his processes and how he gets people to dance.

Needless to say, he delivered! Lee had us dancing the whole night, and seemed to know exactly when to play the right songs! He is definitely worth every penny paid, and definitely one of the highlights of the night. Thank you Lee!

Our wedding was July 16th, 2011 at the Oviatt Building Penthouse and it was amazing for so many reasons. Especially the terrific DJ we hired (Chris Armenta), who was so organized and had our favorite jams! He played every single song I asked him to! He was very responsive through the process of planning the wedding and easy to talk to. I would highly recommend Hey Mister DJ for any type of event! They Rock!

Lee just did my wedding in June, and I couldn't have been happier with the results. We liked Lee from the beginning. His easy-going style matched with ours, and he knew right away what kind of vibe we wanted at the wedding. He was super responsive and easy to get a hold of, plus we liked being able to pay with credit card via his website. On the actual wedding day, Lee was well-prepared and organized, and did an amazing job with the music. We had a ton of compliments on his work, and my friends are pretty tough critics! We danced the night way, and only left the dance floor after they turned the lights back on. I highly recommend Lee and his services.

Richard DJ'd our wedding in June 2011 and we thought he and Lee did an amazing job. They were very professional, timely and very helpful with us choosing music to best fit our meticulous wedding theme. Richard played an amazing set before our band began playing and really got the party mood started. He also played an elegant music selection during dinner and maintained the high energy later in the night. We were very pleased with our experience and we highly recommend Richard and Lee.

All we can say is that Dj Lee knows his music and has a keen eye for room tone and really made sure that all our guests kept the dance floor hopping. We gave him a list of genres to play during the cocktail hour and reception and everything ran smoothly. Our families complimented on how he played music that all ages could adapt to. He also checked in periodically to let us know what events were coming up during the reception. He's very organized. A week before our wedding day we didn't think about having any lighting package. He recommended a basic lighting package (which he provided) just to give the reception area some ambience and he was totally right! The lights did create more energy. He is awesome to work with and we would recommend him to anyone that wants to hire an awesome DJ, not just for weddings, but for any occasion! --DJ Lee Dyson, you're awesome!! Thank you so much for making our special day a night that everyone will remember!

We hired DJ Lee for our wedding and could not be more pleased. DJ Lee was professional, responsive, and a great MC as well. He is detail oriented and really listened to what we wanted for our wedding,and provided great suggestions. He did an excellent job at reading the room, and our dance floor was packed all night. We were surprised to see many of our "non dancer" friends on the dance floor! I definitely recommend DJ Lee!

Before we booked our DJ, we had consulted with a few different vendors. Lee was the only person who responded to e-mails and questions in a timely manner. However, what I most appreciated was how straight forward he was, there were not any hidden costs or "oh I forgot to tell you." Take it or leave it, you had all the information upfront to make the decision to suit your needs and budget. And then the wedding....
Just as fabulous. He provided all aspects of sound and music for our ceremony & reception. Kept the party moving, but was never pushy or made anyone feel like they "had" to do anything. Great personality, and willing to be flexible depending on the environment. Can't say enough great things about Lee, really great attitude and true professional!!

DJ Lee Dyson was amazing! He followed our worksheet to a tee and was open to any suggestions or recommendations my husband and I had during the wedding itself. He is also a great emcee and keeps the energy going! He has the outstanding skill of feeling out the crowd and playing or changing music types accordingly should the dance floor need a bigger crowd. Highly recommended!
