Hemlock Barn on Nettle Knob, LLC, was established in 2017 as a private family barn in West Jefferson, North Carolina. The property is located just eight miles away from the quaint mountain town of West Jefferson. After the barn was completed and hosted close family friend weddings, the exposure created an interest in availability to the public. Hemlock Barn answered the call and is pleased to offer their space for couples that are looking for a unique wedding venue.

Facilities and Capacity

The Hemlock Barn is nestled on 72 acres of land with a private two-acre pond. On the property is an intricately detailed and rustic gazebo with a cozy rope swing for two, making for the perfect spot to snap romantic wedding day pictures. There are several intimate outdoor settings for ceremonies, or you can have your ceremony in the barn. The barn is adorned with a magnificent double-sided stone fireplace, framed by the high country as a backdrop. The frame of the barn is a true post and beam style, constructed with locally sourced materials by West Jefferson craftsmen. There is 3000 square feet of covered, open-air entertainment space which can be arranged to accommodate 150 guests. A vintage 1953 school house sink adorns the rustic bathroom hall and an indoor prep-space is fully equipped for on-site caterers. Conveniently, this area is easily accessible to serve the entertainment space. The bar is decorated with rusted tin walls, a live-edge slab counter, and a six-foot-tall copper distillery creates a great focal point in the room. Accessible by a rusted, spiral staircase, Hemlock Barn boasts a beautiful 1000 square-foot suite with a 72-inch windmill fan and a pool table to pass the pre-wedding time. The suite can be the perfect spot to gather before exchanging vows or to capture a one-of-a-kind photo on the balcony overlooking the event.
