Original owner Helen Bernhard began baking cakes for family and friends. She produced her first cookbook in 1923, before opening the bakery in 1924. In 1988, the Laufer family took over from the Bernhards to continue a long legacy of premium baking. This longtime family business is now operated by Richard and Mary Laufer’s daughter Kellie, and her husband Mike. This dynamic duo continues to produce quality wedding cakes and desserts for newlyweds, and the legacy of Helen Bernhard lives on in each baked good.
