This 125-year-old Victorian mansion lies in the heart of the city's beloved Montrose area and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Owners Chris and John have lovingly restored the 3-story property to its former glory. Hawthorne House combines modern elegance and luxury with timeless charm to create the perfect backdrop for an intimate wedding celebration.
Facilities and Capacity
At Hawthorne House, you will have use of the second floor as a get-ready area for your special day. Large windows allow natural light to flood into the space, complete with a cozy sitting area, a master ensuite, and a guest ensuite for you and your wedding party to use. A door in the guest room leads to the majestic balcony, perfect for a bouquet toss or some dreamy photos. The dining room downstairs features a stunning fireplace and piano and flows naturally into the living room. Plush furnishings, local art, and vintage stained-glass windows create a perfect blend of contemporary and classic. You will also have full use of the galley kitchen and its amenities on your special day. You can host up to 60 of your loved ones in this carefully tended 7,000-square-foot space. The beautifully manicured grounds provide multiple options for a romantic outdoor ceremony and fairytale photography sessions. Hawthorne House also boasts a pool house fitted with kitchen amenities, and the Bachelor Bungalow is just steps away.

For your convenience, Hawthorne House offers plate, glassware, silverware, and linen rentals for gatherings of up to 30 people. The garden is equipped with speakers and a Bluetooth receiver, perfect for drinks and dancing the night away. Whether your wedding is an intimate celebration of two or 60 people, this charming and unique house will create an elegant, dramatic background for your nuptials, where you can make precious memories that you and your loved ones will forever treasure.

With a background in design and advertising, homeowner Chris opened his estate for intimate events in 2022 after lovingly restoring the charismatic 3-story home and building a new addition.
Christopher Breining is the owner of Hawthorne House, as well as Houston-based design firm, Christopher Design. He offers his clients "down and dirty decorating and design for their every day lives."
Christopher Design specializes in eclectic, approachable design including consultation, renovation, project management, construction, home staging, art sourcing, color consultation, and landscape design.
Christopher Design takes the time to really listen to their clients wants, needs and desires in order to create the perfect easy, comfortable and liveable spaces. The firm creates timeless style across a broad spectrum of styles depending on exactly what the client is looking for--transitional, traditional, mid-century, contemporary, modern, ultra modern and eclectic styles or a mix of these styles.
Christopher Breining splits his time between Houston and San Francisco where he also runs his successful company, Home Stagers Inc. Home Stagers specializes in providing residents, developers, homeowners, and real estate agents home staging and interior design in the San Francisco Bay Area.
With a degree in public relations and 17 years in the hospitality industry, Kassidy Motal has experience in the marketing and management of hair salons, tattoo shops, bars and restaurants in America and Asia, liquor brands in America and Vietnam, burlesque, circus, and comedy productions in America and Vietnam, podcasts, therapists, non-profit organizations, business coaches, interior designers, woodworkers and furniture fabricators, house painters, and American, Asian, and Australian craft beer brands.
Kassidy truly loves LOVE, even working as a matchmaker at a dating service in the early 2000's. Kassidy is personable, hardworking, enthusiastic, dedicated, innovative, fun, is a great communicator, is easy to work with, she brings a variety of experience to the table, and above all - she CARES.
