Mara and her team did an amazing job making our day so special. Everything turned out better than we could have ever imagined. The staff at The Harraseeket were warm, professional, and incredibly attentive to every detail. Mike, the in-house florist, put together beautiful arrangements, including two amazing planters on each side of the aisle.

The venue itself is beautiful and the perfect backdrop for a New England wedding. We loved having our guests stay at the inn and the fact that the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception were all in one place made everything so stress-free and easy. We would absolutely choose The Harraseeket Inn if we were to do it all over again!

My wedding at the Harraseeket Inn was a dream. I loved the idea of my guests all staying together at the inn, and I got so many compliments on the venue. I can't say enough good things about the venue coordinator, Mara, who put so much work into making sure the day was perfect and was very accommodating especially with dietary restrictions. My flowers were gorgeous and the food was excellent. I'm so happy I chose to get married at the Harraseeket!!

A Perfect Wedding Experience at the Harraseeket Inn
We couldn't have chosen a more perfect venue than the Harraseeket Inn for our wedding. Our wedding was on a non-traditional day on a Thursday in the beautiful spring of April and From start to finish, everything about this charming, historic property exceeded our expectations. The Inn's rich history and cozy New England atmosphere created a warm, inviting backdrop that made our special day truly memorable.
The staff was exceptional—attentive, friendly, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure our guests felt welcomed and cared for. Their professionalism and genuine hospitality added a personal touch that made all the difference.
The location is ideal, just a short stroll from Freeport's shops and restaurants, allowing our guests to explore and enjoy the area with ease. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, with lovely views and modern amenities like flat-screen TVs and refrigerators.
We received countless compliments from our wedding guests on the delicious food served at The Porter Kitchen + Bar—the perfect blend of high quality and comfort. The full buffet breakfast and afternoon tea with live piano music were guest favorites and added an elegant touch to the overall experience.
The Harraseeket Inn truly shines when it comes to hosting weddings and special events, offering not only beautiful surroundings but also a level of service and attention to detail that makes planning stress-free and joyful.

My wife and I just had our wedding at Harraseeket in September '24 and neither of us have a bad thing to say about it. Our coordinator, Mara, was an absolute delight to work with (even with us planning it from Minnesota!) She made sure that everything was running smoothly throughout the days leading up to the event and even helped my wife pin up her dress after the ceremony when no one else could figure it out.

Added bonus of Harraseeket is that the florals and food are included. Their florist was able to get king proteas to represent South Africa where my wife was born (they had to be shipped in!). The food was to die for, too. Their chef is absolutely a master!

All in all, an excellent venue for a smaller guest list (we had ~50 people), but they could easily work with more.

Fantastic inn. We had our wedding here and the experience was excellent. Our guests that stayed at the inn were raving about the accommodations and the great front desk staff. As for the wedding, the staff made it an amazing day and handled the onsite coordination. Thanks, Mara, Johann & team! Guests were raving about the meals (filet mignon, Halibut and a vegetarian option) and said the wedding was very memorable. I'd 100% recommend this inn as a wedding venue. Your event(s) will be flawless and low-stress if you go with this venue for your wedding and/or rehearsal dinner. The inn has options for both indoor and outdoor ceremonies. Wedding florals are included and the onsite florist, Mike, is incredibly talented.

My husband and I wanted to have a small wedding and we chose the Harraseeket Inn in Freeport, Maine. We live in Alabama and we met with Mara from the Harraseeket and she made us feel so at ease about planning a wedding 2000 miles away. The Harraseeket took care of everything for us! This made our experience and our mothers' experiences so stress free and easy. We were able to truly enjoy our wedding and stay at the Harraseeket! The food and our flowers exceeded our expectations. Mara and the staff were incredible. They made us and our guests feel so at home and at ease on our special day. We will definitely be back for years to come!

We looked at many venues before deciding on the Harraseeket Inn, and we are so glad we ended up choosing the Harraseeket. The major pros of this venue: 1) They will work with you to create any menu you want. More courses? Sure. Lobster AND filet? Sure. (All part of the same price). We personalized our menu with touches such as having one of our entrees be the meal we shared on our first date, and incorporated other favorite foods throughout the evening. We got many compliments on the food from family & friends! 2) The day-of help was truly outstanding. Marcia, our event coordinator, went above and beyond on the day of our event to do things like bring us appetizers while we were taking a few extra photos (and while the bridal party was waiting for our reception entrance!), make sure everything was running smoothly throughout the evening, etc. There were many servers who also truly stood out in their exceptional service. 3) The florist, Mike, was amazing. We provided somewhat vague direction, and he did a truly outstanding job (he honestly executed on our vision way better than I could have imagined!). Beyond that, he is one of those people that just seems like a truly great person - SO accommodating and so great at what he does. I could not recommend him more highly.

The Harraseeket is a great place to have your wedding if you would like to establish a nice "flow" to your event - things moved from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception seamlessly, and this allowed guests to move around without things feeling TOO spread out. We loved that they have the Broad Arrow Tavern right there - it was the perfect place for an after party. The rooms were great as well - plenty of space, they were willing to deliver gift bags to the rooms for us, etc. We were so happy with how everything turned out, and hope to return to the Harraseeket as an overnight guest someday in the future!

We coordinated our wedding with Mara Carpenter and Mike the Florist, and we are incredibly satisfied with our decision to do so. Everyone from the front desk to the staff who executed the reception were incredibly professional and friendly.

Leading up to the Big Day, Mara and Mike were incredibly patient, with us knit-picking details, and introduced us to sources of inspiration for decorative elements that had never occurred to us such as inspiration boards on pinterest for floral arrangements & examples from other ceremonies.

During the whole planning process, Mara was a great about getting back to e-mails or texts.

Day-of we had a few snags that came up with the weather, and coordinating guests, but Mara facilitated solutions on the fly, and really went above and beyond our expectations by helping to corral guests, and helping to dry the brides dress due to the morning rain before the ceremony.

The most meaningful thing I would like to mention, is that with all the craziness that is greeting family, having the actual ceremony, taking photos, and running off to the events of the reception; It can be hard to breath in the moment, just the two of you, and keep your energy up in the frenetic chaos. Mara was able to find the perfect moment after photos, prior to the reception where she was able to sequester us away with snacks from cocktail hour, where it could just be bride and groom for a few minutes to connect.

Budget-wise; we have friends who are planning a wedding in a field, without a wedding coordinator, renting tents/tables/chairs, and hiring a separate caterer, dropping floral arrangements and some of the extras. It sounds like they'll be able to save ~20%. If your esthetic is a farm in rural Maine go for it (we considered it). But if you want a ceremony & reception venue (with rain and shine options), coordinator, catering, in coastal/southern Maine, with little extras you can't beat the beauty of the landscaped courtyard with babbling brook and accessibility for those traveling from away. The convenience of bundling, and having someone else to help wrangle vendors day of is worth that price difference if not more.

Oh and I have to mention that all of our guest thought that the food from the reception and during cocktail hour was the best food they've had at any wedding.
