I am prefacing this review by stating that I am ONLY reviewing our experience with Harborpoint as a venue. **This review in no way reflects the excellent food and catering services by Root

We had our wedding reception here in May 2025 and this was our experience:

Pros:
- great food
- lots of flexibility with the menu
- pretty view of Salem Harbor

Cons:
- It took 3 months to get a fully executed contract from them
- They ran out of alcohol at our wedding reception with over 2 hours of our event to go! Come to find out, they only purchased 2 bottles of liquor for each of our signature drinks due to their "budget," this was not communicated to us beforehand and should not have been a problem since we along with our guests were paying for all of the drinks.
- Staff took away dinner right after the last table went through the buffet. No chance for seconds and not even offered any leftovers, even though we paid for all of the food
- Event coordination needs to be more organized. Information should be offered to the couple rather than the couple seeking it out (for example: food timeline, bar logistics, overall communication)
- The room was renovated after we signed the contract and before our event. It lost about 1/3 of the space and only allowed for 8 guest tables with a small area for dancing. I would not have more than 8 tables here if you want room for a dance floor.

In short, we would recommend Root for catering and food, but due to our experience which impacted not only us, but our guests as well, we are be unable to recommend Harborpoint as a venue at this time until they improve their planning and organization.
