From the beginning, they were incredibly organized and helpful. During our planning call, they helped us think through the timeline and flow of the wedding, and Jason provided a planning template that gave us a great foundation to build on throughout the process.

When it came to the music, Jason completely understood the vibe we were looking for from the playlists and examples we shared. We specifically wanted a mix of Mandarin and English classics throughout the evening, and he blended everything together seamlessly. Throughout the wedding, Jason stayed in lock-step with our timeline and matched the music perfectly to the energy of each moment. We received many compliments from our guests—and even our venue staff—about the music selection and flow.

James was also an excellent MC. Since our guests included both English and Mandarin speakers, having someone who could comfortably host in both languages was incredibly valuable and helped everyone feel included throughout the evening.

They are clearly very experienced with running weddings, and I can't say enough nice things about them and I can't recommend them enough. They took so much stress out of our wedding day.

We are so glad we worked with HMDJ for our wedding! We enjoyed how DJ Jason mixed the music we chose, and helped fill gaps with some of his choices as well. Our guests were dancing until the end of the event, we had so much fun! MC James was absolutely amazing. Before our wedding we met with him and he gave great advice on the schedule, making sure we did our Reception activities in a way that would keep our guests entertained, and suggesting some games that could involve everyone. During the wedding he did a great job hyping up our guests for our entrance, first dance, speeches, shoe game, and bouquet toss. He is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, which made communicating with our families really smooth! We also booked the photobooth through HMDJ. We loved the props they had, and we laughed so much looking through all the photos our guests did!

We had MC James and DJ Jason at our wedding this past February and the entire party was a blast! we wanted to have an MC fluent in both English Mandarin and Cantonese for both my friends and family and James and Jason were fantastic! When the time came, James did a fantastic job, plus the party games he picked to help pick up the energy in the room for the older/younger guests were perfect, and Jason did such an amazing job with the music! We also got the dancing on the clouds for our first dance and it made our first dance so picturesque! All in all I can say was the planning was happily so straight forward lot of it was finding 10-15 songs we liked and what would be fun for particular moments of the ceremony and trust the DJ to set the atmosphere. Jason read the room so well it never felt like there was a lull in the party and the dance floor was hyped up all the way to the end! Worth every penny and an easy recommendation!

MC James and DJ Jason were absolutely amazing to work with. From the initial call, they took into consideration our families, cultural backgrounds, and music tastes along with the wedding environment we were looking for. James had some great ideas for reception games and made sure everyone had a good time with it! They were very accommodating for some last minute (day-of) changes as well, handling everything in stride despite the scheduling mishaps. HIGHLY recommend using their team - they know how to throw a party!

My wife and I knew from the beginning we wanted to find a DJ who was capable of multilingual services since both of our families are Chinese. When we found DJ Jason, we knew we wanted to work with him from the beginning. Jason provided fantastic counsel and advice during our wedding planning phase. He walked us through their different packages and really helped advise us on our reception. DJ Jason read the dance floor vibe and just seemed to play the exact right song at the precisely optimal moment to keep the vibe. DJ Jason was the soul of our dinner reception and definitely set our tempo and vibe!

Additionally, DJ Jason was able to provide tri-lingual MC services. MC Sandy was fantastic! She speaks perfect English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. That was fantastic for our tri-lingual wedding and mixing of cultures. We had many last minute/game-time audibles we had to call on the day of the wedding that changed up our pre-planned timeline. MC Sandy did a fantastic job rolling with the punches and making the entire evening flow seamlessly—as if there were no last minute changes! She also helped us during the planning phase with designing our timelines and figuring out the flow of the evening.

Happy Music is the premier option for DJ and MC services—especially if you’re hosting a mixed culture, American/Chinese event. I highly recommend for your future wedding!

DJ Jason and MC Chi at Happy Music DJ were so amazing to work with. It was important to me to have our MC be able to speak Cantonese and English. Chi helped me organize scheduling of wedding events during reception and understood the habits and the needs of both a Chinese and American audience. My wedding could not have gone as well as it did without his expertise, flexibility, and his professionalism. Jason was an amazing DJ and really knows how to entertain the crowd. He knew exactly how to work the ceremony music and transitioned music to different moods perfectly. I had Jason provide music for my after party and everyone loved him. Happy Music DJ are so fantastic to work with and I would recommend them to anyone!

Weddings are difficult to plan for. My fiancée was stressed about all the little details that would go towards our special night. Fortunately, one of the things that we did not need to worry about was the music. When the time came, Happy Music DJ went above and beyond anything we could have hoped for. Chi did a great job MC'ing in English and Chinese. Jason knew how to draw in the crowd and get everyone moving. I do believe that you get what you pay for and that a wedding is an experience to be enjoyed by all your loved ones. Worth every penny!

We could not have asked for a better DJ than Jason and his team at Happy Music. We had a bilingual wedding so it was important for us to incorporate non-English songs which Jason mixed seamlessly. We had family and friends singing along and dancing all night to the tunes he played. Jason gave his suggestions on how we could transform our venue in terms of lighting design and it really was a hit! We chose the uplighting, intelligent lighting, and did the photobooth with them. Jason and his team are truly a step above the rest. So many of our guests were amazed by our DJ and said what a great time they had. The BEST DJ in the tri-state area. Do not hesitate to book them. Great communication with DJ Jspinz and he knows what he's doing. Everything is outlined perfectly in a timeline because they are EXPERIENCED. They came all the way out to central NJ with all their equipment to provide over the top entertainment for my wedding. They mostly cater to Chinese people with a bilingual MC who translates English/Cantonese/Mandarin but we really just needed English. Absolutely no errors during the wedding which is what you need on your wedding day! The dance floor was always lit because he knows the right music to play. Nobody wants an empty dance floor at their wedding! Don't settle for other companies- I've been at weddings where the DJ mistakenly played a fast dance song during the ceremony as the Bride was walking down the aisle - BIG MISTAKE should've chosen HAPPY MUSIC DJ! Family owned business - Charlie & Alice have been in the business for over 30 years. Unfortunately there's so much competition out there but most of these new companies were trained by Charlie! DJ Jspinz dj's the younger ABC generation of modern weddings while Charlie & Alice usually provide music & sound system equipment to the older Chinese population, they are known for working annually at asian galas and banquets for the cancer association, passport to taiwan, fundraisers, annual parades, and practically every event in Flushing and Chinatown NY. Don't hesitate, prices are great and you can add on so much stuff such as party favors on the dance floor & the Photobooth!
