Holy wow! Where do we begin? Most importantly, if you're reading this and deciding on a DJ, you're probably most interested in the music. Let us be the first to tell you that Marcus put together a phenomenal and FUN playlist for us and our guests to enjoy at our wedding. From the start, Marcus was collaborative with us on the types of songs we enjoyed, wanted played at our wedding, and the vibe we wanted. At our wedding, his entire setlist flowed so well that by the very last song everyone was left wondering how time had flown by so quickly - the true mark of a great time. If you're here and only care about the type of music Marcus will provide, rest assured... Marcus was the best DJ we've run into at a wedding. Period. My wife and I just so happened to be lucky enough to have had him play at our own wedding.

However, I think the best way to describe Marcus, and the type service he'll provide, is by telling you about our wedding. My wife and I had contracted Marcus for our reception (dinner + dancing). We had hired a set of acoustic musicians to play for our ceremony and cocktail hour. Despite needing him from 8pm and onwards, Marcus came hours earlier to set up. He offered our officiant and other musicians additional microphones in case they needed them. After our ceremony, our acoustic musicians had to move locations to play for our cocktail hour. Without any instruction, Marcus took it upon himself to play music for our guests while the other musicians set up. Talk about really going above and beyond and stepping up in small ways that truly help make a wedding. During dinner, Marcus played the perfect music that helped set the mood and allowed for pleasant eating and conversation. He brought wireless microphones for our bridal party speeches and was amazingly adept at reading the room as to when the appropriate time was to stop the music and allow our speakers to speak. He was incredibly prepared and communicative with us (both before and during the wedding) and never imposed himself... as we all know some pesky DJs do on the big day. He was completely in tune with our timeline and flawlessly segwayed from dinner to our first dance to partying. On multiple occasions, family and friends stopped my wife and I just to gush about how much fun they were having and how they loved Marcus and his music. He was truly one of the best people we have EVER worked with.

Tl;dr - Marcus is amazing at his craft and will absolutely rock your wedding! He's incredibly conscientious of your needs. Prepared beyond belief. Highly respectful and an amazing human being. And an absolute pleasure to work with. HIRE. THIS. MAN. Your guests will thank you for it after! :)

We absolutely loved working with Marcus for our wedding! He was a fantastic MC and did an amazing job working with the long list of must-plays we had all the way through our entrance, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing through the end of the night. He also did a great job of shepherding people where they needed to go be it for hors d'oeuvres and desserts or out to the dance floor :) It was a fantastic night and Marcus was an integral part of it.

My wife and I booked DJ Marcus for our wedding in November 2025, and he ended up being the best DJ we could have hoped for. I usually do not love DJs who have that overly hype, sports announcer style when it comes to emceeing and making announcements, but Marcus is the complete opposite. I first met him at another wedding I was working a few years ago, and he immediately stood out. His emceeing had real class and warmth, and the dance floor was lit. I remember thinking right then that when I got married, he would be my first call.

He exceeded our expectations in every way. Marcus is extremely organized and thorough, and during our final meeting he went over everything in detail, including coordinating with the band I arranged for our ceremony so there was a clear plan for everyone’s sound systems. One of my biggest pet peeves is bad audio at events, and he made it so I did not have to worry about it at all.

On the wedding day, I was genuinely impressed by how much he handled as a one person team. He set up three different sound systems and all of them worked flawlessly for the ceremony in the on site chapel, the cocktail hour space, and the reception ballroom. Our bridal party also wanted very specific timing for entrances, including a moment where the girls interrupted the guys’ dance, and Marcus took the time to go over the timing with everyone beforehand. I have seen entrances like that get botched when the DJ does not pay attention, but ours came out perfectly, and it was because Marcus cared enough to rehearse it with them.

He also has a ton of technical skill. He helped my sister and dad set up a vocal and guitar performance they prepared for us and made sure there were no issues with the wireless pickups they were using. He is sharp, professional, and efficient, and everything sounded clean and balanced all day. As someone in the video industry who pays attention to AV, I really noticed the difference. No feedback, no wireless interference, just smooth audio that made the whole event feel seamless.

And when it was time to party, Marcus absolutely delivered. He gave great advice on how to get people onto the dance floor, kept every transition smooth throughout the night, and did a great job reading the vibe and culture of the room to keep the energy high. The lighting he brought was also a great touch and made it feel like we were in a club even though it was a daytime wedding.

Easy 5 stars. I would recommend DJ Marcus to any couple who wants a DJ they can trust to run a flawless wedding and throw an amazing party.

We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ for our wedding! From the very first song to the last, our guests (from kids to all the aunties in their 70s dancing like they were teens again) were on their feet all night and having an absolute blast. So many people came up to us during and after the reception to compliment the music and the energy. Marcus paid close attention to every detail we discussed (seamlessly transitioning from disco to 90s to 00s to today’s music), read the crowd perfectly, and kept the dance floor packed. His passion truly shows in his work, and it made our night unforgettable. Highly recommend!

He was super professional and executed all of our ceremony music perfectly, ensuring every cue and transition was seamless. For the reception, he provided just the right amount of MC-ing and introductions to smoothly move the evening along without ever dominating the spotlight. Marcus was the DJ we had for our wedding in Brooklyn. As a DJ myself I can tell you that he was flipping fantastic. He provided music for the ceremony, and microphones for the officiants, and he went above and beyond in his preparation for our big day. He curated a playlist of all the songs we wanted to hear and read the crowd perfectly. I would highly recommend him for any party, not just a wedding. He was also an excellent compare. We found Marcus after listening to samples from dozens of different DJs. I loved his overall style from the start and how he seamlessly transitions songs.

After speaking with Marcus for the first time, I knew we wanted to go ahead with him and it was such a great decision. He completely understood our vision for what we wanted and gave us such a great confidence that he would deliver (spoiler: he totally did). Marcus was truly such a pleasure to work with from start to finish. His professionalism, gentle demeanor, and overall vibe cannot be understated.

Marcus did such an amazing job DJing our wedding, we couldn’t be more thrilled. He is extremely thoughtful with his work. He took careful note of my husband and my musical tastes and preferences, as well as the vibe of our wedding, instead of playing a standard tired playlist. Per our request, he blended in some Latin music seamlessly. The dance floor was full and lively all night long, exactly as we had hoped for! He played songs we hadn’t requested but that we love, leaving me wondering how he could have known so well what to play. He also respected our “do not play” list, as I found out multiple guests requested songs on it and he politely declined.

Marcus is very thorough and organized which made working with him so easy- he was on top of all the details, order of events/cues, even reviewed proper name pronunciation with us in advance. The event manager at our venue said she loved working with him and was very impressed.

Marcus has such a kind and warm personality, and a really special talent- we feel so lucky that he was part of our big day!

Marcus was incredible! He was the best wedding DJ we could have ever asked for. Right from the beginning, he was thoughtful, prompt / responsive, and such a pleasure to work with. We are not huge music people, and he was incredibly helpful in guiding us towards a collection and vibe that was fun for our guests, included our favorite songs, and kept everyone dancing all night. He even singlehandedly designed the cocktail party mix because we weren't sure what we wanted. As an emcee, Marcus was a poised and tasteful presenter, who was very organized and well-spoken around our "run of show." We had many friends tell us Marcus was the best wedding DJ they had ever heard - and we agree!
