Goldener Hirsch has operated under the guidance of the Eccles family since 1992. This philanthropic clan has been integral to the society of the local area since the early 1800s. The hotel, built by Countess Walderdorff, was named after the Hotel Goldener Hirsch in Salzburg, Austria. Before, during, and since the hotel's opening, the Eccles family has continued to play a crucial part at Deer Valley Resort.
