We are so glad that we went with Garden by the woods for our wedding florals! Patricia, the owner, is so kindhearted and down-to-earth, and it was a pleasure working with her.

As a couple that didn't know exactly what we wanted for our wedding florals except for a general color scheme, we were relieved that Patricia was able to formulate a vision and provide direction for our wedding, while still listening to our input. Unlike some other traditional wedding florists, Patricia is truly a one woman shop. She grows her own flowers, so the flowers that are available are typically in bloom for that time of year, and she curates and creates all the arrangements herself. We loved the idea of having seasonal, locally grown flowers (dahlias) for our fall brewery wedding.

All of our planning with Patricia was over the phone, and she was very responsive if we had any questions. She was transparent and honest with us that unexpected bad weather can affect her blooms, and talked through alternative plans if that were ever the case. She also invited us to see her garden closer to the wedding date so we could check out the flowers and talk through final details, which was a great experience.

In summary, we would definitely recommend Garden by the woods as a wedding florist. What I will say is it worked in our favor not to be super specific or picky with our florals, because what we got was even better than what we could have ever imagined ourselves. For us, we went in with a color scheme and an open mind, and the results were perfect - we got so many compliments about our florals at the wedding, and it was truly our favorite part of our day.

Patricia was amazing - providing personalized, one on one customer service including texting me with updates, calling me with questions, receiving vase deliveries at her home, truly above and beyond. When my first wedding got cancelled due to COVID, she personally delivered a free bouquet to my parents for my small micro wedding in 2020. The flowers for my 2022 rescheduled wedding, one word: GORGEOUS. My friends and family all gushed about the peonies (my wedding was in May) and some even made plans to visit her flower farm. The pricing is extremely reasonable and fair, and her product reflects the details and care of an experienced professional. I felt very relieved to have booked a natural, local, flower farm when the larger floral industry was experiencing extreme scarcity due to supply chain issues/soaring prices. Thank you Patricia! Garden by the Woods is a hidden gem in the DC/MD/VA area. Patricia was an absolute joy to work with from the start. She knew the right questions to ask about what I wanted for my wedding, and she helped me figure out what was best for the venue (for example, she gently offered her opinion that spray painting my mason jar vases for the flowers would not look right at the dinner tables -- and she was exactly right!). If you are flexible in your choice of flowers, Patricia is the way to go. She grows a variety of stunning flowers at her farm, but with any farm her flowers are subject to weather and availability. I was able to save thousands by mostly using what was available this time of year at her farm. Her setup on the day-of was seamless and had no major complications. Several people -- including venue staff and my photographer -- stopped me to say the flowers were some of the most beautiful they had EVER seen at a wedding. I promise if you book Patricia you will not be disappointed!

Patricia did a phenomenal job at my wedding last year. It was beyond my expectations. I sent her pictures of what I wanted and trusted her to do the rest. She definitely did not disappoint. She is very honest, knowledgeable, flexible, and passionate about what she does. She is willing to go out of her way to make sure you have a beautiful wedding while staying on budget.

Patricia was a joy to work with and the bouquets, table arrangements and other arrangements she created for our wedding were beautiful! Even though our wedding was mid-October and I was a little uncertain what would be in season that time of year. However, what Patricia created was amazing with a mix of flowers, greenery and some dried flowers and seed pods. It was just the look we were going for for our wedding.
