About

G A Floral Design is a non-retail floral design studio and specialises in decorating weddings, corporate events & other special occasions. We take pride in our work; we understand that every client is unique and the importance of creating designs to make you and your event special.

Owner and Lead Designer, Amele is an international floral designer with over 15 years of hands on experience. Amele's natural artistic ability, creativity, sense of colors and her approach to creating unique & original designs, sets her work apart.

She has worked with different types of flowers & foliage and in a variety of settings & themes.

Being an international floral designer she has won multiple awards at the Ellerslie Flower Show in New Zealand (well renouned in the Southern Hemisphere) and in the Fiji Islands, where she also taught Floral Art at the Suva Orchid & Horticulture Circle for many years. Apart from servicing the New York area particularly Long Island, Queens & Manhatten; Her other international experiences includes working in Israel & Nepal.

"Amele, calls herself an 'international floral designer' - she is truly one in every sense of the word. In one of her trips to the Fiji Islands she came in time to decorate my wedding. She was exceptionally calm and went out of her way to decorate our wedding with elegant tropical floral displays. Her professionalism & flexibility was evident in how she conducted herself given the time restraints. She is just naturally creative & talented. I recommend her highly. Thank you Amele."

Amele arranged floral presentsations for my wedding at short notice she was very professional, has great business savy and is so calm and caring .This is attrbute is from her international living and her success in knowing her clients needs.

Her knowledge of flora and eye for perfection was a formula for excellence in her arrangements.

Simply put, Amele you are wonderful!! You really took it upon yourself to make sure that I received more services than I paid for. You exceptionally decorated both the Church and Reception hall, and the bouquet you made for me and the six girls are still making good news till date. GOOD JOB!!!

I initially fell in love with her charm and confidence. She had went over with me through pictures of how the flowers would look like. I shouldve known when she wasnt responsive to my emails. I had to email her twice to get one response. then the day of the wedding everything came to a surprise! The bouquets were about the only thing that looked decent. Everything else was pretty much a disaster. The chuppah wasnt done on time of the ceremony(she blames that on the venue) , the flowers she delivered was totally OFF from what we talked about and what I had asked for. Not only did she used the cheapest flowers, the size of the reception flowers were not even half of the size I had asked for .she charged me 125 for "large high centerpiece" and filled it up with mostly dark leaves to fill up the space n barely any flowers!!! there was basically the same amount of leaves as flowers! The little details we discussed, I realized she was obviously not listening. My theme was all pastel colors and asked for specifically roses and hydrangeas. no hydrangeas at all, about 7 roses, carnations!! and white daisies (I hate daises). Overall, the flowers looked so cheap, nobody even took the flowers home. Then when I emailed her about my dissatisfaction her response was I'm busy, your wedding is already over theres nothing I can do, "other florists wouldve charged you more than I did". Unbelievable. I wanted to use her because she was a family business I thought I was helping out. but honestly there's nothing I regret more than using Ga florals
