ABOUT US:

Thanks for stopping by to learn more about our studio.

I'm Shirley Wedra, the Owner and Lead Photographer at Fort Mill Photography. Being a wedding photographer is a challenge for sure. There are time constraints, lighting challenges and a huge amount of pressure and oftentimes only one chance to "get it right". Personally I love the challenge of doing my absolute best to walk away great images under adverse conditions. I love the fast paced environment, the different locations it takes me, working in all different types of lighting situations and capturing a moment that the client didn't get to see from your perspective or your artistic viewpoint. I also value the friendships that are formed and all the wonderful people I meet along the way. I enjoy getting to watch them start families and photograph those milestones as they grow. It's a win win for me and I absolutely LOVE what I do.

I certainly can't do it all on my own though. I have a couple of very talented local photographers who work with me on a permanent part time basis for all of our weddings that require two photographers and I am very blessed to have them.

THE BUSINESS:

We’ve photographed well over 400 weddings and numerous portrait sessions since the opening of our studio in 2003 and have become one of the most trusted and well-respected photography studios in the area. We are humbled when we say we couldn't be more proud of the extraordinary reputation that our studio has achieved.

LOCATIONS:

Our home office is located on a Farm in York, South Carolina where we shoot a lot of our outdoor/rustic portraits and elopements.

We are available for travel.

Actively made our wedding better!

Shirley is fantastic. Not only is she truly gifted in terms of her photography, she was also a wonderful addition to our experience on the day. Her calm and cheerful presence helped us get centered and de-frazzled for the first look pictures and when we did our post-ceremony pictures she kept us laughing and focused on one another. She made very good use of the rain showers (great lighting) and had a psychic ability to appear right when something cool was happening at the reception. There was a bunch of sweet moments with the guests that I didn't even know were happening, but there they are in the pictures!

If you're not sure how many hours you'll need a photographer, I can say we do not regret getting a couple of extra hours. We didn't have to worry about rushing to cut the cake at a specific time and could go with the flow.

As a bonus, the pictures were ready quite quickly and she shared them via Dropbox so we could easily download them to our location of choice. No tech headaches at all!

Henry Wedding

Shirley was amazing to work with. She was super flexible with our change of plans due to Covid. When we needed to change our venue and timing of photos she was happy to help us make the changes. Her pictures are beautiful as well!

Excellent Charlotte Area Photographer

Shirley was an excellent photographer. She knew out park venue very well and was able to give us great advice on where and when to do pictures. Even though we hired her for a short time for out intimate COVID wedding, she treated us like one of her bigger clients. We got so many great pictures we look forward to treasuring!

STUNNING, yep that's the word I'm looking for. Fort Mill Photography, Dave and Shirley are hands down Fort Mill's Finest! The engagement and bridal photo's were breath taking. And we can hardly wait to see the ceremony pictures. I would highly recommend Fort Mill Photography to anyone. DO NOT settle for less, there are no second chances with your wedding photo's.

Fort Mill Photography is outstanding. From the very first meeting we had with them, we found them to be incredibly professional. Shirley and Dave did our engagement pictures, bridal portraits, and wedding pictures, and we could not be happier with the results. I have received countless compliments on all of our photos and will cherish them for years to come. These photographers formed a relationship with our family throughout our year of engagement, and I feel confident that we will maintain our relationship in the future. WOW would be the word I would use to describe Fort Mill Photography. I said it so may times once we got our wedding photographs back from them. They took their time with everything! From the first meeting they answered any questions we had. Also too the time explaining the packages and what they included. They helped ease my mothers mind about questions she had as well. They even got my now husband excited about photo with his very own photos with his car! Everything about using Fort Mill Photography was amazing! They really are a class act! I would recommend them to everyone I know!

I know it seems superficial to give them a 5 star rating, but FMP has done a great job! They were very sociable with our bridal party and came up with creative ideas for our photos. I would recommend FMP to any and every bride!!!
