I cannot say enough good things about Food for Thought Catering. It was truly the BEST catering food I have EVER had. Gina, Mary, and her team were so amazing to work with and we could not have had a better experience for our wedding. They prepared so much for us at our tasting to help us narrow down our choices which was so nice. Not only is the food some of the most delicious food I have ever had, but the presentation is BEAUTIFUL. All of our wedding guests could not stop talking about how good the food was, and most even said it was the best wedding food they have ever had. All of our catering needs were perfectly handled, including the linen orders, dinnerware, decorations around the service stations, etc. It was so beautiful and SO delicious. We cannot be more happy with our decision to go with them for our catering needs, and highly highly recommend them!!

It was such a pleasure to work with Gina and Mary through the whole process. They are so friendly and pleasant. The food was AMAZING! Even better than our tasting, which was already delightful! The fresh herbs from their garden took each dish to the next level. FFTC is a preferred caterer for our venue (The Star Barn), which helped make selecting them an easy decision for us. We also really enjoyed knowing that they are a smaller catering business, and the owner is present at your event making sure everything goes smoothly and tastes wonderful – which was such a special touch. We also had FFTC cater our rehearsal dinner the night before, and our brunch the morning after – everything was delicious. Guests raved about all of the food! We also were glad we chose a buffet based on their recommendation – we were able to have a huge selection of options to please all different appetites!

We hired Gina as our caterer and I can’t tell you how extremely grateful and happy we are with that decision! From start to finish her and her team were a dream! The food was outstanding, the tasting was amazing. Their professionalism and communication throughout the entire process was second to none I can not recommend them enough! Gina helped me tremendously with her guidance and great attention to detail. The entire staff was easy to work with. We received tons of compliments for all their delicious dishes (❤️ salmon) from hors d'oeuvres to desserts, presentation and service. Our event ran smoothly , everything executed perfectly. Answered all my questions and helped me with many items I didn't even think of. They catered to all my needs and our event ran smoothly. We were able to enjoy ourselves at our party since Food for Thought handled every detail with ease, professionalism and a smile. I will work with them for any celebration. They helped with all the planning, butler service and bar tending. We were all comfortable and confident that everything would run smoothly with their help and leadership. If you have a wedding, you need Food for Thought! Lauren and I are SOOO excited! Sampling Food for Thought/Gina's food prior to our wedding day was amazing and makes me hungry thinking of it. Lauren and I's wedding day of 170 guests which encompassed Stone Gables Estate/Star Barn was a dream of laughs and special moments thanks to Food for Thought Catering who expertly catered for us.

All food provided was of the highest quality and diversity. The service staff was super professional, polite, and agile ensuring every guest needs where met. The communication by Gina and Mary with Food for Thought was exceptional!

Lauren and I thoroughly researched caterers for our Wedding 3/25/2023 at Star Barn Stone Gables Estate. All our research always came back to Gina and Food for Thought! When working with them they treat you and your vendors as part of the family. For example, Lauren and I needed to get to the lower level of Star Barn to find Lauren's grandparents and Gina was right on it. Another example was when Lauren was served during cocktail hour the servers made special efforts to make Lauren laugh and smile.

Lauren and I got a ton of compliments during, and after the wedding about how amazing the wedding and food was from our guests. Everyone agrees Lauren and I's wedding had the best cocktail hour ever with those butlered hors d’oeuvres. Picking Food for Thought as your Caterer is a sure win!

+Butlered hors d’oeuvres: Bruschetta was Lauren's favorite and was super yummy. The Creamy spinach-artichoke-Parmesan au gratin in mini phyllo cups was excellent. The Chipotle BBQ all beef mini meatballs were perfect and added great diversity. The mini tartlets of goat cheese and fig were elegant. The smoked and roasted sausage made my Hungarian side of the family really happy. The maki sushi rolls where my personal favorite and I never imagined getting sushi on my wedding day! (sweet potato, salmon and cucumber, ahi tuna, and California rolls)

+Entrées: Basil parmesan encrusted chicken breasts where super moist and the crust was crunchy. The grilled flat iron steak was very juicy!

+Dessert: Fudge brownies was everyone's favorite. The Lemon and Salted caramel pecan bars where perfect. It still amazes me how moist your Vanilla sheet cake with vanilla butter cream icing was!

We hired Food For Thought Catering (FFT) for our wedding at Star Barn in March 2023. Gina, Mary, and their team were professional, easy to work with, and so kind! FFT is the preferred caterer for Star Barn (wedding venue). They already knew everything about the venue so all we really had to do was give a guest count and pick food. We did a private tasting at the Moonstone Manor (owned by Gina) with our parents. The team brought out so much delicious food. We tried many different appetizers, salad, sides, main dishes, and then desserts. Everything we tried was so good, it was difficult to chose our wedding menu. Luckily FFT was also catering the rehearsal dinner at Moonstone so we were able to pick more items. At the end of the tasting Zach, my now husband, decided he wanted sushi as an appetizer for the wedding. FFT created 4 different types of sushi that were all delicious. The day of the wedding was seamless. FFT had all of the tables set up beautifully. Somehow their bartending team chilled all of the alcohol we brought so quickly. During our cocktail hour one of the FFT team members came up to me with a tray of sushi and I asked if he had the sweet potato tempura roll. His tray was all out of this specific roll. He apologized and came back 2 minutes later to find me with that particular sushi.
Gina made sure Zach and I got food during the wedding, they had a bit of every food on our sweetheart table. It was all delicious. We got so many compliments on the food for the wedding! We will absolutely hire Food For Thought again!

FFT Catering was incredible! Super easy to work with, very professional and fun at the same time! I have Celiac and Gina and Mary were very accommodating and took the time to understand my needs. Every guest was thrilled with the food and could not stop talking about how amazing it was. Would absolutely recommend and use FFT Catering again!

I don't even know where to begin. We hired Food for Thought for catering for our 10.22.2022 wedding and that the best decision we could have make. Their food is to die for and it was so hard for us to narrow down what we wanted during our tasting! I made sure to have a little bit of everything the day of our wedding because I remembered how good the tasting was. But its not just about the food and Food for Thought is way more than just a caterer. Gina and Mary are SO accommodating! They took into account our guest dietary restrictions and even were able to make a special plate for the few vegans we had at our wedding. They helped set up our Pittsburgh cookie table and were even kind enough to help us return the napkins we rented locally. Neither of these things are things they had to do but went above and beyond to help us. We cannot say enough good things about Food for Thought!

Have never tasted wedding food this good. Gina was attuned to our needs and did her job flawlessly.
