If you have a wedding, you need Food for Thought! Lauren and I are SOOO excited! Sampling Food for Thought/Gina's food prior to our wedding day was amazing and makes me hungry thinking of it. Lauren and I's wedding day of 170 guests which encompassed Stone Gables Estate/Star Barn was a dream of laughs and special moments thanks to Food for Thought Catering who expertly catered for us.
All food provided was of the highest quality and diversity. The service staff was super professional, polite, and agile ensuring every guest needs where met. The communication by Gina and Mary with Food for Thought was exceptional!
Lauren and I thoroughly researched caterers for our Wedding 3/25/2023 at Star Barn Stone Gables Estate. All our research always came back to Gina and Food for Thought! When working with them they treat you and your vendors as part of the family. For example, Lauren and I needed to get to the lower level of Star Barn to find Lauren's grandparents and Gina was right on it. Another example was when Lauren was served during cocktail hour the servers made special efforts to make Lauren laugh and smile.
Lauren and I got a ton of compliments during, and after the wedding about how amazing the wedding and food was from our guests. Everyone agrees Lauren and I's wedding had the best cocktail hour ever with those butlered hors d’oeuvres. Picking Food for Thought as your Caterer is a sure win!
+Butlered hors d’oeuvres: Bruschetta was Lauren's favorite and was super yummy. The Creamy spinach-artichoke-Parmesan au gratin in mini phyllo cups was excellent. The Chipotle BBQ all beef mini meatballs were perfect and added great diversity. The mini tartlets of goat cheese and fig were elegant. The smoked and roasted sausage made my Hungarian side of the family really happy. The maki sushi rolls where my personal favorite and I never imagined getting sushi on my wedding day! (sweet potato, salmon and cucumber, ahi tuna, and California rolls)
+Entrées: Basil parmesan encrusted chicken breasts where super moist and the crust was crunchy. The grilled flat iron steak was very juicy!
+Dessert: Fudge brownies was everyone's favorite. The Lemon and Salted caramel pecan bars where perfect. It still amazes me how moist your Vanilla sheet cake with vanilla butter cream icing was!
+Late night snack: Want to thank you so much for warming and serving our Philadelphia Pretzel Company Pretzels
+P.S. We loved snacks and tray of brownies you prepared for us the day after the wedding for our long drive home!

Food was super important for our wedding, so Food for Thought was the easy choice. Everything was DELICIOUS! Gina and Mary gave us a wonderful, private tasting which really helped us pick some delicious hors d'oeuvres and entrees for our wedding. Also, the passed desserts were bite sized and kept the party going all night long. Every detail was executed perfectly, and the staff was so nice, professional and friendly. The delicious, 5-star quality food is really just the beginning of the value that booking FFT brings to the table. We don't have enough words for how much we enjoyed working with Gina and Mary! They truly went above and beyond to make our wedding planning and wedding day spectacular! They are so incredibly easy to work with and at the end, almost feel like family! Not to mention the food is OUTSTANDING! They catered our rehearsal dinner the night before as well and the whole weekend we received so many raving reviews about the quality and multitude of options we had! I could not have imagined working with a different caterer and I PROMISE you, they are worth it and then some!! I'm still getting comments about how good the food was - weeks later! We loved working with Food for thought, before and of course during our wedding. They made the process so easy and their wait staff was so polite and discreet. And the food was INCREDIBLE. (My husband loved that he always had a full drink thanks to our bartenders) I have recommended this catering company to anyone and everyone we know.

Gina is amazing. Her food is even more amazing. We were lucky enough to have Food for Thought cater at Gina's venue Moonstone Manor and it was just perfect! She was open to working with us on making tweaks and mix and matching all sorts of different foods and drinks. They also boxed up all the leftovers for us to take home and everything was just as delicious the second (and third) time! Highly recommend!! -

The Most Magical Day
BRIDES…If you’re looking for a caterer, stop here…I promise you found the best one. I am still thinking about how incredible the food was at our wedding about a month ago and I’m not the only one. Our guests are still raving about the food and also the service!
There was no point during our wedding where anyone could have possibly been hungry. One of my favorite moments of the night was being out on the dance floor and being offered butlered desserts!
Also, the owner Gina is the most incredible, caring and sweetest person you’ll ever meet. She worked so hard to customize our menu for us and if you haven’t found your venue yet…check out Moonstone Manor! -

When my husband and I were looking at where we wanted to get married at, we knew it would be somewhere tucked away from the fast paced suburban area we were from. Upon on search we came across The Star Barn in Elizabethtown, PA. A place that was spectacular but somewhat far away from where we were from. Making this a "destination wedding" for majority of our guests. It was about 2 hours from our home in Maryland which meant that some of the vendors I wanted to use after being in the industry myself; I couldn't use simply because of distance...
After much consideration and back and fourth, we decided to book with The Star Barn. One of the preferred caterers on the list was Food For Thought. I worked part time for a 5 star restaurant so any bland wedding food simply wasn't going to cut it for me... Gina, Mary, and the rest of their staff put together a BEAUTIFUL tasting at the Moon Stone Manor in E-town... The food was great and we decided to book with FFT catering. That was until a restaurant in my area begged to cater to our wedding with the promise they could handle the distance and put on an amazing wedding for us. Unfortunately about 3 months before the wedding after everything was figured out, that cater backed out of our wedding... As wedding stress started to pile up and trust was lost, we had about 100 people already RSVP'd with no food... In pure humility and desperation I reached out to Gina & Mary with Food For Thought and begged them to help us out and cater our wedding... It was around an incredibly busy time for them with Spring weddings and large scaled events piling up, but Gina emailed me back and said "we will make it work for you". With tears streaming down my face I couldn't have felt more blessed. I knew from the start that Gina & Mary carried themselves with a level of professionalism, and love for their catering company, that not a lot of people do... Sometimes catering weddings just becomes a blur and its just a job... But not to Gina & Mary...
With our wedding just around the corner, Gina took the menu with the old cater and put her own special spin on the dishes and I TRUSTED her to do so... Come down to the day of the wedding, the food was THE BEST food I have ever had at a wedding... It is so important when you have guests attending your wedding, especially if they are travelling that the food is good food and not your typical wedding food... I don't think Food For Thought knows how to cook "typical wedding food"... Everything from the kale caesar salad, to the freshly baked bread her cousin made for us, to the steak with a brown butter glaze, Mediterranean chicken, fresh veggies, smashed potatoes and a truffle mac & cheese was out of this world. After the wedding I told Gina I would be making a stop up to Moon Stone Manor whenever I started craving our wedding food. ;) They even went as far to pack my husband and I a nice plater of food to munch on later in the night... We signed the waiver to take all of the left over food home and never got sick of eating the same thing for a week straight because of how delish it was! The response from every single guest I talked to the day of and after the wedding was and I quote "the best food at a wedding I have ever had"... "the staff was so friendly and receptive to anything we needed"... "the drinks kept flowing and were mixed perfectly"...
There is no doubt in my mind that Gina, Mary and the Food For Thought team can pull of absolutely anything. They put so much love, effort and THOUGHT into what they do and take nothing less than 10 star reviews... When looking for someone to cater your event or your wedding, trust Food For Thought. They were a huge part in making our wedding day the absolute best day of our lives even in an emergency situation when we had no one. Gina & Mary will always have a special place in the heart of my husband and I, as well as our families who absolutely adore them as well.
To Gina, Mary and team: Thank you so much for making our day the best. For putting your all into what you do, and for helping us celebrate. Thank you for taking care of our guests, for making sure all of their needs were met and that everyone was happy. Thank you again for all you do. I know it cannot be easy whatsoever but you make it look so effortless. You allow your customers to relax while you take the driver seat and ensure everything will be okay.

Gina and Mary did an exceptional job taking care of all our needs. The food was absolutely delicious. Moonstone Manor itself is exquisite. The service was exceptional. Everything was delightful and well executed. We had the best experience ever. They were so solicitous and so easy to work with - and adjusted to our crazy changes (a week before the event) due to COVID issues. We could not be more pleased with the experience and will be looking forward to the larger second reception in partnership together with them again in 2021! Thank you so much! You are truly amazing and were a real blessing to our family! -

Oh gosh where do I begin? My now husband and I are pretty big foodies so we thought finding a caterer would be tricky. We literally got so lucky when it came to Food for Thought. EVERYTHING they provided was mouth watering and so so good. On the day of, we chose to do a brunch with them and I am so glad we did. Gina's recommendations were perfect to hold everyone over through the chaos of getting ready.
My guests have been raving about the cocktail hour and dinner. Everything was amazing. The team even came to us during our photos and brought some food to make sure we were able to have some of it during cocktail hour.
Dinner is making me hungry just thinking about it again. We were a little delayed getting to the reception because of pictures and the team was super accommodating. Mary came out to ask how much extra time we needed and they were able to prepare accordingly, no questions asked. We had steak and chicken for protein and it was so juicy and tender, I was amazed. Everything was cooked to perfection and I couldn't have been happier. The staff was finding me throughout the night to make sure we were eating, as well. As a busy bride and groom, this is so important. They truly care for you and make sure you are enjoying your night and the beautiful food they prepare. I am so glad we went with Food for Thought! -

Amazing Food and Staff!
Food For Thought was a no-brainer when selecting Gina to cater our wedding. Selecting Moonstone Manor as our venue, having Gina being the caterer and owner of the venue made everything seamless and very easy to work with. Gina and her staff have left a big impression on us and our guests, and we still here about it today! We've also used Food For Thought for other events leading up to the wedding. -

Food for Thought was a great choice for our catering. They helped us try everything during our busy day, and that was nice, because their food tastes amazing! the thought of the salsa verde makes our mouth water and the olive oil they used was such a high quality. After one month we are still thinking about their food and getting ravishing reviews from our guests! On top of all this they are extremely accomodating - even turning one of our signature drinks into a popsicle to offset the hot day :-) -

Memorable Moonstone Meal
After our initial meeting with Gina and Mary, there was absolutely no doubt in our minds about where we wanted to have our daughter’s wedding at Moonstone and have Food for Thought be our caterer. Gina immediately had a vision of that fit our expectations. We wanted a healthy, fresh, meal that people would long remember, When we had our “tasting” to determine our appetizers and entrees we were overwhelmed. We loved everything! Gina quickly came up with suggestions on how to include all our favorites. Every appetizer was scrumptious, and continued to be served until our guests stopped eating them. Then guests dined on a gourmet meal that was picture perfect. My daughter was concerned about having a buffet, but was overwhelmed by the delicious entrees and the beautiful presentation of each dish. Friends and family when commenting above the wedding have all commented on how wonderful the food was. have no reservations about recommending Food for Thought Catering as a premiere caterer. Gina is a close friend of the family and it meant a lot to us that her company catered our wedding at Moonstone Manor on June 29, 2018. She has a real talent in the kitchen and this did not go unnoticed. The attention to detail was never missed. The food was unbelievable and extremely fresh. From the bridal suite appetizers, cocktail hour bites, amazing dinner buffet, and butlered mini desserts at the end of the night, everyone was ranting and raving how wonderful it was. We couldn't be happier with the food or the service they provided. They were friendly, upbeat and very accommodating! We would highly recommend them to cater your next event or wedding!!

Joan Sent on 07/16/2018I don't even know where to begin to describe what an amazing Venue Moonstone Manor is and the delicious menu from Food For Thought Catering ! Everything was above and beyond Wonderful! It was a magical day that started in the Mansion getting ready for the wedding in one of the many rooms that are absolutely gorgeous to the walk down the beautiful landscaped grounds to the Chapel for the ceremony. The Venue is like no other allowing everything to take place in one location. The Catering from Gina and her Staff was absolutely delicious from the appetizer's to the entree's down to the buttered desserts. Our guest are still complementing how great the day was and how the Staff took such great care of everything and everyone from the time we arrived until the reception ended.

As it turned out she had also become the new owner of the wedding venue that we wanted so it was a win-win situation. I knew from online reviews what a great reputation she had and I told my guests that they were in for a treat. We were not disappointed! Everything was so fresh and in season and looked beautiful. The hors d'oeuvres were to die for! And don't get me started about the desserts. Our guests raved about everything. I have been to many weddings and Gina's food was by far the best I've ever had.

Wow. OK, I cannot say ENOUGH about how fabulous this company is and how amazing Gina, the owner, was to work with. From the get go, so made us feel at ease. After several emails back and forth, we met with her at a local Panera to discuss what our vision was for our wedding buffet. Well, we didn't actually HAVE a vision. We just really liked food and wanted to make sure a few of our favorites were there. Gina was the one who helped us put it all together. She was so personable and friendly that we felt right away we were in good hands. When she gave us the sample meals based on our conversation, we were absolutely blown away. The food was SO GOOD and she gave us so much!! I looked at a few other caterers online, just to be thorough, but none compared. When we found out later that Gina had bought the venue our wedding was being held at, we took it as the final confirmation that she was the right one and booked her!
Again, I cannot stress enough how helpful she was in making sure we had everything we needed for our wedding day. When the Big Day finally arrived, everyone was amazed at the food. The appetizers was different then normal wedding fare, but that's just how we planned it! Asian meatballs, chicken satay, calamari, red bean sesame balls, sushi, shrimp cocktail, mozzarella sticks...and everything was delicious! I know because they made sure to save plates of everything for us so we wouldn't miss out. I was grateful because after all that planning, I sure as heck wanted to be sure to eat the tasty menu we'd put together! The main buffet was equally as amazing and everyone kept telling us how different and delicious everything was. Even when we ran into folks after the wedding, they raved about the food. Gina really went above and beyond for us and we are truly so grateful.
Gina is amazing, sweet and 100% professional. Book her and Food For Thought catering. You will not be disappointed.
