Well, it’s coming up on our 2 year wedding anniversary and I am finally posting a review. We decided on a destination wedding in Ocho Rios, Jamaica on 07/17/2017. My husband and many of his family members are avid photographers and right away my husband said he wasn’t keen on using the resorts photographer. We found a few local photographers in Ocho Rios and priced them out, but we were also open to paying for a photographer to come to Jamaica.

Fortunately, I knew Vanessa and that she did weddings. We admired her work and followed her for sometime. We knew we wanted her, but the question was would she come to Jamaica for us.

We offered Vanessa an all-inclusive resort and airfare to Jamaica. Vanessa was very fair with pricing and we had a wonderful time working with her.

On our wedding day, Vanessa met my mom, sister and myself at the spa for some mani/pedi pictures, she then met me in the suite where a few friends did my hair and makeup. She made her way to my husband’s suite to grab some shots of him and our two boys putting the finishing touches on their outfits.

At the ceremony Vanessa got beautiful shots of us and some wonderful moments. We asked for small group family photos and a full group photo. We had 52 guests and she got several great shot of us. I had one of them made into a large canvas for our living room. Honestly, I wish Vanessa was in this photo too. Everyone in both of our families just adored her.

Between the ceremony and reception we took some photos at locations around the resort that Vanessa had scouted out. At the reception she took great photo including several incredibly artistic photos of the decor, dining and cake.

We have a steel drum band and a beach bon fire. Vanessa got some gorgeous photos that also look phenomenal in black and white.

Weddings are so much work. Having Vanessa’s knowledge and focus is invaluable. She is outgoing and was able to command our large and crazy family. She clearly has experience with weddings and seemed to know exactly where she needs to be to get the shot. Vanessa is also well traveled, which is incredibly important when choosing a destination wedding photographer. Not everyone is confident traveling in other countries, so this is an important factor to consider.

Our family has not stopped talking about Jamaica and I am so grateful we choose Vanessa to shoot this very special day.
