My husband and I were so pleased to have Sheri officiant our perfect wedding ceremony! We initially met over Zoom and she really took the time to get to know my husband and I’s relationship and history. She recommended all the readings and explained various vow versions. She listened to our ideas and requests as we went through edits making it feel like a team effort. The ceremony script blossomed into a story. As she delivered our story at our outdoor garden venue, the weather started to shift and ominous clouds rolled in adding to the ambiance. However, it did not bother Sheri. She continued to speak strongly and warmly as she walked around the alter, making our guests feel at ease.

Before the legalization of same-sex marriage, we had already had a beautiful commitment ceremony attended by family and friends. When we decided to get married under the new law legalizing same-sex marriage, at first, we thought we’d just have an uneventful civil ceremony performed by a judge at the Cook County Clerk’s office. We didn’t want to attempt to relive that original ceremony by having a big celebration with a lot of guests, but we did we want to recapture the spirit and inspiration of that day while formally acknowledging where the commitment to our relationship had taken us over the years.
We contacted Sheri Reda of Flow Ceremonies to help us craft our legal ceremony – a ceremony that would be just between the two of us and our officiant, but one that at the same time would have the same weight and importance as our first ceremony.
We were not prepared for the level of care and attention that Sheri devoted to our ceremony. She took time to interview us on zoom and shortly after the interview, came back with a detailed draft of the ceremony, capturing a sense of who we are as individuals, the history of our couples, who we had become as a couple, and what we wanted to create and experience in our legal ceremony. She also sensitively added many of her own astute observations, demonstrating the close level of attention she had paid to us during the interview. She was very open to the feedback we gave her and to any changes we wanted to make to the ceremony she had designed.
Sheri handled the entire planning process confidently and adeptly and it was clear that she truly cares both about what she does and about the couple she is supporting. She very successfully helped us to re-experience all the joy and inspiration of our original ceremony, while helping us to fully celebrate the next step we were taking to be recognized as a committed, legally married couple.

After me baby sister passed suddenly, we needed to find an officiant to perform her funeral service and found many glowing reviews about Sheri. She lovingly took the time to get to know our sister’s background, childhood, and adult life. Sheri gave such a heartfelt eulogy at the gravesite memorial. It was beautiful and we will all use it as we grieve and heal from our loss. She crafted special memories that everyone could relate to, and included a special prayer for our Christian burial. Sheri is very caring and skilled in her officiant service, and we are thankful to have found such a blessing in her.

Sheri was simply amazing. Initially we met in person and told her stories about how we met, what we liked about each other, how/why we decided on marriage etc. Then she followed up with a sheet for each of us to complete. Initially I thought "how much information could she get from these questions?" well that was before I understood how amazing she was. She then took that information and drafted our ceremony. Somehow through our onsite and questionnaire she got us entirely. She was able to understand our relationship, our past and what mattered most to us. She was able to incorporate parts of our lives in the ceremony and did it in a way that made it flow perfectly. After the ceremony concluded on our wedding day I heard compliment after compliment from family/friends at how good our ceremony was. They loved the flow and the peppering of humor in the ceremony. I had no less than 15 people tell me it was one of the best and most memorable ceremonies they have attended. In addition what people liked most was that it wasn't just the same verbiage you hear at wedding ceremonies, it was all about us and that in turn kept their attention the entire time. We are very lucky to have worked with such a professional. If you have the chance to use Sheri consider yourself lucky!

We were lucky enough to get Sheri to officiate our wedding on extremely short notice. Our original officiant was suddenly unable to perform our ceremony on 10/21/17 and Sheri came to the rescue. We met with Sheri for a few hours less than a week before our scheduled ceremony. She constructed a ceremony that made it seem like she had known my husband and I for years, not 6 days. We were so lucky to find Sheri to be part of our wedding. We had procrastinated to find an officiant, and Sheri was able to put together an incredible ceremony in a short time. Even after spending just a short time getting to know us, the ceremony she developed captured our personalities and our relationship perfectly. Sheri was a great wedding officiant! Her life cycle celebrant philosophy was perfect for our non-denominational ceremony. During our multiple sessions and much email correspondence, Sheri developed this comprehensive picture of my husband and I's relationship, allowing her to create a unique ceremony personal to us. She spent time getting the details right, and afterwards she even made sure to get a neat copy of the ceremony as a keepsake.

Sheri was a great investment in our wedding. When we had our first meeting at a coffee shop, Sheri opened with asking how my wife and I met. As we started to tell our story that we've told so many times, this time it felt different-- we emotionally felt comfortable with this person. The tears of love flew. Sheri's openess allowed this and she asked questions about key moments which allowed more tears. We instantly knew this was the person to officiate our wedding due to her receptiveness. After she gave a detailed summary of what she would do to create the ceremony, she gave us homework: questions about ourselves and our relationship. This was a bit nerve-wracking at first, but then fun and beautiful in the end as we shared our answers together later. Sheri was responsive and open to our theme and suggested edits of the ceremony. She provided drafts and would email them back. We edited and gave feedback and found that that she listened and we ended up getting everything we needed and wanted. The rehearsal and ceremony were professionally done. Sheri has works creatively on stage, she was engaging and none of our ceremony felt staged or over the top. She told our story genuinely. We would highly recommend.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Sheri and the service she provided. Sheri was very friendly, detailed, and positive from our opening meeting at Starbucks to our wedding ceremony. My wife and I had very little knowledge on the process of a non-religious ceremony but Sheri made it very clear and stress free. She put in a lot of time and effort to incorporate our life story and included readings and poems that matched our culture and desires. We had many guest at our wedding compliment and praise Sheri and how special she made our day. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a friendly and professional officiant for their wedding.

Sheri married my husband and I in June 2016. She was such a pleasure to work with. She met with us and learned what we wanted our wedding to be. She also was okay with us not have answers to everything. We definitely had not thought about all the details, and she helped walk us through all of it! Sheri gave us a “homework assignment” to answer questions about our relationship and marriage. We really enjoyed doing this and sharing our responses with one another. It helped us prepare for the big day and our lives together!

Sheri shared with us her drafts of the ceremony and allowed us to have as much input as we wanted. She did such a wonderful job the day of our wedding and has a wonderful calming presence, that helped ease any jitters we had.
