  Perfect Ceremony with Sheri

  Sheri did a phenomenal job as our ceremony officiant! From the very beginning, she asked us such good questions and took amazing notes to try and understand us better as a couple. We wanted our guests to have fun at our wedding, and Sheri made the ceremony feel upbeat and fun while still being incredibly heartfelt, personal and full of love. We received rave reviews from all of our guests about what a great job she did. I cannot recommend her enough!

  Working with Sheri from Flow Ceremonies was an absolute highlight of our wedding. From our first meeting, she was incredibly warm and truly listened to our story and vision. She was remarkably responsive to our feedback, seamlessly incorporating changes into the script while contributing her own moving additions that brought everyone to tears.

  Fantastic Wedding Officiant

  My husband and I were so pleased to have Sheri officiant our perfect wedding ceremony! We initially met over Zoom and she really took the time to get to know my husband and I’s relationship and history. She recommended all the readings and explained various vow versions. She listened to our ideas and requests as we went through edits making it feel like a team effort. The ceremony script blossomed into a story. As she delivered our story at our outdoor garden venue, the weather started to shift and ominous clouds rolled in adding to the ambiance. However, it did not bother Sheri. She continued to speak strongly and warmly as she walked around the alter, making our guests feel at ease.
  Sheri truly created the most special, unique, and heartwarming story ceremony. We can't thank Sheri enough for making our wedding day so memorable.

  Thoughtful and Sensitive Planning from Flow Ceremonies

  Before the legalization of same-sex marriage, we had already had a beautiful commitment ceremony attended by family and friends. When we decided to get married under the new law legalizing same-sex marriage, at first, we thought we’d just have an uneventful civil ceremony performed by a judge at the Cook County Clerk’s office. We didn’t want to attempt to relive that original ceremony by having a big celebration with a lot of guests, but we did we want to recapture the spirit and inspiration of that day while formally acknowledging where the commitment to our relationship had taken us over the years.
  We contacted Sheri Reda of Flow Ceremonies to help us craft our legal ceremony – a ceremony that would be just between the two of us and our officiant, but one that at the same time would have the same weight and importance as our first ceremony.
  We were not prepared for the level of care and attention that Sheri devoted to our ceremony. She took time to interview us on zoom and shortly after the interview, came back with a detailed draft of the ceremony, capturing a sense of who we are as individuals, the history of our couples, who we had become as a couple, and what we wanted to create and experience in our legal ceremony. She also sensitively added many of her own astute observations, demonstrating the close level of attention she had paid to us during the interview. She was very open to the feedback we gave her and to any changes we wanted to make to the ceremony she had designed.
  Sheri handled the entire planning process confidently and adeptly and it was clear that she truly cares both about what she does and about the couple she is supporting. She very successfully helped us to re-experience all the joy and inspiration of our original ceremony, while helping us to fully celebrate the next step we were taking to be recognized as a committed, legally married couple.

  Beautiful gravesite memorial service

  After me baby sister passed suddenly, we needed to find an officiant to perform her funeral service and found many glowing reviews about Sheri. She lovingly took the time to get to know our sister’s background, childhood, and adult life. Sheri gave such a heartfelt eulogy at the gravesite memorial. It was beautiful and we will all use it as we grieve and heal from our loss. She crafted special memories that everyone could relate to, and included a special prayer for our Christian burial. Sheri is very caring and skilled in her officiant service, and we are thankful to have found such a blessing in her.

  Sheri was simply amazing. Initially we met in person and told her stories about how we met, what we liked about each other, how/why we decided on marriage etc. Then she followed up with a sheet for each of us to complete. Initially I thought "how much information could she get from these questions?" well that was before I understood how amazing she was. She then took that information and drafted our ceremony. Somehow through our onsite and questionnaire she got us entirely. She was able to understand our relationship, our past and what mattered most to us. She was able to incorporate parts of our lives in the ceremony and did it in a way that made it flow perfectly. After the ceremony concluded on our wedding day I heard compliment after compliment from family/friends at how good our ceremony was. They loved the flow and the peppering of humor in the ceremony. I had no less than 15 people tell me it was one of the best and most memorable ceremonies they have attended. In addition what people liked most was that it wasn't just the same verbiage you hear at wedding ceremonies, it was all about us and that in turn kept their attention the entire time. We are very lucky to have worked with such a professional. If you have the chance to use Sheri consider yourself lucky!

  We were lucky enough to get Sheri to officiate our wedding on extremely short notice. Our original officiant was suddenly unable to perform our ceremony on 10/21/17 and Sheri came to the rescue. We met with Sheri for a few hours less than a week before our scheduled ceremony. She constructed a ceremony that made it seem like she had known my husband and I for years, not 6 days. Our guests loved how she was able to combine our chosen readings with her words and make everything flow so effortlessly. We highly recommend Sheri and Flow Ceremonies.

  We were so lucky to find Sheri to be part of our wedding. We had procrastinated to find an officiant, and Sheri was able to put together an incredible ceremony in a short time. Even after spending just a short time getting to know us, the ceremony she developed captured our personalities and our relationship perfectly. We worked with amazing vendors for every part of our wedding, but the one we received the most compliments for was Sheri. Everyone told us it was the best ceremony they had ever seen. A few people actually thought she might be my mother because the ceremony was so personal. We cannot say enough about Sheri - we will recommend her to absolutely anyone who asks!

  Sheri was a great wedding officiant! Her life cycle celebrant philosophy was perfect for our non-denominational ceremony. During our multiple sessions and much email correspondence, Sheri developed this comprehensive picture of my husband and I's relationship, allowing her to create a unique ceremony personal to us. She spent time getting the details right, and afterwards she even made sure to get a neat copy of the ceremony as a keepsake.

  Sheri was a great investment in our wedding. When we had our first meeting at a coffee shop, Sheri opened with asking how my wife and I met. As we started to tell our story that we've told so many times, this time it felt different-- we emotionally felt comfortable with this person. The tears of love flew. Sheri's openess allowed this and she asked questions about key moments which allowed more tears. We instantly knew this was the person to officiate our wedding due to her receptiveness. After she gave a detailed summary of what she would do to create the ceremony, she gave us homework: questions about ourselves and our relationship. This was a bit nerve-wracking at first, but then fun and beautiful in the end as we shared our answers together later. Sheri was responsive and open to our theme and suggested edits of the ceremony. She provided drafts and would email them back. We edited and gave feedback and found that that she listened and we ended up getting everything we needed and wanted. The rehearsal and ceremony were professionally done. Sheri has works creatively on stage, she was engaging and none of our ceremony felt staged or over the top. She told our story genuinely. We would highly recommend.

  I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Sheri and the service she provided. Sheri was very friendly, detailed, and positive from our opening meeting at Starbucks to our wedding ceremony. My wife and I had very little knowledge on the process of a non-religious ceremony but Sheri made it very clear and stress free. She put in a lot of time and effort to incorporate our life story and included readings and poems that matched our culture and desires. We had many guest at our wedding compliment and praise Sheri and how special she made our day. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a friendly and professional officiant for their wedding.

  Sheri married my husband and I in June 2016. She was such a pleasure to work with. She met with us and learned what we wanted our wedding to be. She also was okay with us not have answers to everything. We definitely had not thought about all the details, and she helped walk us through all of it! Sheri gave us a “homework assignment” to answer questions about our relationship and marriage. We really enjoyed doing this and sharing our responses with one another. It helped us prepare for the big day and our lives together!
  
  Sheri shared with us her drafts of the ceremony and allowed us to have as much input as we wanted. She did such a wonderful job the day of our wedding and has a wonderful calming presence, that helped ease any jitters we had. We received so many compliments about how personal our ceremony was and how great Sheri was!

  Sheri was a pleasure to work with and did much more than just show up on the day. She drafted our ceremony, which we rewrote a lot of, but it was important to get the structure of it from her so we didn't have to start from scratch. I loved the "gentle homework" she made us do where we had to draft short answers to questions about each other and our history and relationship. Sheri was always responsive and professional, and she ran the rehearsal and wedding seamlessly. Honestly, I had a very hard time evaluating the ceremony itself from my perspective as a bride, but even though I felt a little deer-in-the-headlights I knew our ceremony was in good hands. Sheri is a very strong public speaker and didn't suffer the nervousness I did! Sheri also recommended all the readings we ended up using and succeeded in making our ceremony a transformative, spiritual experience, while keeping it completely secular. She never pushed an agenda on us and always listened to our ideas and requests. Thank you Sheri!

  I'm still not sure I can fully describe how wonderful Sheri was to work with. We met with her once and KNEW that she would be the perfect officiant for our wedding. Through a thoughtful series of questions and many back and forth e-mails, Sheri crafted a beautiful ceremony that represented our relationship; at times serious but punctuated with humor, filled with science and logic, and frosted with some geekdom. Many of our guests asked afterward if she was someone who we had known for a long time. I cannot imagine having anyone else officiate our wedding.

  I could not have asked for a better officiant for our big day. From our first consultation we just clicked with Sheri and knew she'd be perfect at capturing our story. Well we were blown away with how wonderful the entire ceremony was! Her presence and professionalism were unwavering and she truly helped make our wedding day special.

  Sheri at Flow Ceremonies officiated our wedding and did an amazing job. She worked with us to create a personal, touching ceremony that told our story and was loved by our family and friends. Sheri went through 2-3 revisions until we had the perfect ceremony for our wedding and personalities. We got so many compliments about how intimate and touching our ceremony was.

  Sheri was a complete joy to work with--from the first meeting we knew we did not need to look any further, she was right for us. During our first meeting she was so engaged in how we met and what kind of relationship we had and she already was helping us bounce ideas around how we could incorporate my daughter and how we wanted to add a special part of the ceremony to my husband giving my daughter a special necklace. I am a huge nut when it comes to how I wanted out story shared and the details to be just right and Sheri was so flexible with changes and we were able to come together and really fine tune how we wanted to have the ceremony flow. I had and STILL have so many compliments on how personal and meaningful our ceremony was. I am so incredibly thankful we found Sheri to help us through our special day.

  Sheri officiated our wedding in October. She was a delight to work with; calm, funny, easy going and very nice, she really listened to what we wanted and created a beautiful ceremony for us. We went back and forth working through a series of small changes to her first draft and she happily kept tweaking until we were completely happy. From first contact through to after our day had come and gone, she was quick to respond and very helpful.
  
  She was able to do our rehearsal for us, and she just fit really well with our crowd, made us all feel at ease instantly. During the actual ceremony, she was charming and heartfelt. We continue to receive compliments on how unique, genuine and perfectly suited to the two of us the ceremony was. Credit due to Sheri Redi for her beautiful work.

  I loved Sheri as our officiant. The ceremony was professional, personal and intimate. People for the rest of the night were talking about how great the service was. Sheri did a great job at letting our guests get to know us.

  My fiance and I were introduced to Sheri Reda by our wedding planner. We initially met with her at Starbucks and talked for an hour about how we met, what we do for fun, what we're looking for in a ceremony, etc. We were looking for a secular ceremony that was personalized and had a lot of meaning. After this initial meeting, Sheri drafted up a ceremony that basically told the story of our relationship. It was so amazing and exceeded everything we expected. We were told by many of our wedding guests that it was the most sentimental and special ceremony they had ever been to. Sheri was organized, professional, and a joy to work with. We would recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone looking for a memorable ceremony.

  We had been together for 7 years (engaged for 3) & suddenly gay marriage become legal in. We were THRILLED, but hadn't a clue where to begin with planning the event. We were both raised Catholic, but certainly the Church didn't seem to be a fit. We wanted a ceremony that was somewhat traditional, but not TOO traditional. We googled, found Sheri's profile, then called & met with her within days. She was going to be the "first" officiant we met with, but ended up being the ONLY officiant we met with, because it was so evident she understood who we were & what we were looking for. She guided us through a very simple process of devising a one-of-a-kind ceremony that is still being regarded by our guests, as "the best wedding ever!" My husband's father said, "I've been to a million weddings, but yours was the first to make me realize just how important marriage is." My sister said, "Your officiant made me want to get married all over again!" So what was SO special? Sheri is a talented writer, an experienced listener, and she helped my fiancee and I re-visit the "roots" of the relationship. She crafted a ceremony that told OUR story of how we got to this day, why this day was so crucial, and why every person in attendance mattered. She's theatrical enough to maintain guests' attention, but not so dramatic that she "stole the show." Her balanced and heartfelt demeanor throughout the entire process is something I can only aspire to in my own professional endeavors. Her rates were more than fair, and her flexibility with our rehearsal and attire requests were kindly accommodated. We are truly blessed to have worked with her, and everything that followed after meeting with her, from selecting musicians to flowers to wardrobe to photographers to cake to food, was all so easy because she kept our intentions with the ceremony grounded and true to our mission. Our wedding day was the happiest day of our lives, and we are forever indebted to her.

  Sheri officiated our service in August, 2014. I found Sheri at a friend's wedding and knew right away she had to perform my wedding. She did a great job of capturing the spirit of our relationship, telling the story we wanted to have for the ceremony, and mixing our two cultures/religions together to make a perfect ceremony. We would not have wanted anyone else to have performed this ceremony and would recommend Sheri to anyone.

  Sheri officiated my wedding on August 23rd and was wonderful through the whole process. I am Jewish and my husband is Catholic and we were looking to have a ceremony that incorporated both religions but wasn't over-the-top religious. Sheri was fantastic about hearing our wishes and tailoring our ceremony towards us! She would be very capable of performing a more religious wedding if that's what the couple wanted!
  
  Every choice, detail, etc. about out ceremony was tailored to us and what we wanted out of it. It never felt like a cookie-cutter ceremony, she even including our love story in our ceremony and wrote it so elegantly.
  
  She was wonderful about changing the draft throughout our year engagement as our ideas changed and out wedding became more fleshed out. And was always quite to respond to all of our e-mails.
  
  I highly recommend her!

  Sheri was professional and prompt. She was just so kind and caring, wanting to make sure our day was perfect. Sheri had wonderful suggestions regarding the location of the ceremony and wedding pictures. She wrote and performed a personal and touching ceremony script which had our us and our bridesmaids in tears.   My husband and I were married in September. Of all the decisions we had to make, finding the right officiant for our ceremony was by far the most difficult. We had both been to numerous weddings at which it was obvious the officiant only knew the couple from a meeting or two - the ceremony was so lacking in personal detail. We didn't want that. We really wanted it to feel like a genuine, authentic representation of who we are.
  
  Fortunately, we were introduced to Sheri Reda. Sheri dedicates herself to her clients. She really takes the time to dig deep and get to know each of you, and she seeks out the perfect touches to add to the ceremony that reflect who you are. She considers your cultural heritage, family traditions, hobbies and interests, and proposes ideas throughout the process of writing your ceremony. She can even help you write your vows.
  
  Sheri was quick to respond to questions, and once we submitted our very detailed questionnaires, she responded with a first draft within a couple weeks. Edits were handled swiftly, and in no time, we had a very personalized ceremony that reflected our story - who we are and where we are headed. It made us laugh and it made us cry - and on the day of the wedding, our guests had the same responses.
  
  We were married on a farm. We weren't really into the whole "unity ceremony", finding it a bit cheesy. But for our ceremony, we knew we wanted to plant something together to donate to the farm. Sheri was extremely enthusiastic and had a lot of ideas about how to incorporate our guests in the process.
  
  She also incorporated a wine ceremony that was really sweet and special. We had never seen that before. And the words she read while we passed the cup were so beautiful.
  
  Sheri was wonderful. Many guests told us how unique and beautiful, personal and intimate, the ceremony was, and that they could really feel our love. That was all we wanted and more. Thank you Sheri!

  Sheri was the best part of our entire wedding. We got more compliments and wows for her story and ceremony than any other part of our grand and beautiful wedding. That is how good she is! We live out of town and Sheri was very accommodating, connecting with us by Skype. She had us do homework so she could learn more about us and our story. What a great exercise! We had fun filling it out and reminiscing about our past. Sheri created a custom ceremony that was so captivating. She is a storyteller and it is evident. She WOWED everyone! She was incredibly responsive and professional. She was available for the rehearsal and ceremony. Sheri rocks!!!!

  Sheri was our guide, "creative director", editor and celebrant for our wedding in June in Chicago. We got Sheri's name from a friend of a friend, another Life Cycle Celebrant. After our first meeting, we knew we had found our celebrant - she immediately got what we were wanting to do.
  
  She laid out the basic structure of the ceremony and then provided suggested language and wonderful guidance as she gracefully accepted and helped sculpt our language and the final ceremony. She came up with some beautiful touches, ideas incorporating a circle of light and a simple, elegant gesture to tie everyone into the ceremony.
  
  Plus she was an encouraging and insightful editor, as we both sweated our writing pieces for each other that were only unveiled at the ceremony. And, finally, she conducted the ceremony simply, naturally, with just the right touch of humor and spirit.
  
  It more than met our hopes and expectations. We would definitely recommend Sheri to anyone looking for a celebrant for their wedding.

  A chance google search led us to Sheri—and from the first consultation we were immediately attracted to her calm nature, her quick sense of humor, her warm welcome.
  
  Finding the officiant for our ceremony was never something that we thought would make or break our big day. When we started planning, you sort of forget that at the core of it all is the ceremony. Forget the china and the flowers for a second, and at the end of the day, the most important aspect to a Big Day is the ceremony. And you need someone who is able to mesh with you and build a program that is unique and reflects the relationship.
  
  Sheri was just that. And more.
  
  Her suggestions for readings and the flow were spot on and through revisions—which Sheri held no ego for alteration—we landed on a ceremony that was truly a magical mix of the two of us.
  
  And it didn't just look good on paper. Sheri's delivery was compassionate and sweet and loving.

  Sheri Reda exceeded our expectations for our wedding ceremony. We were looking for a Celebrant because we wanted a personalized ceremony that was intimate, warm and lighthearted with some religious aspects to it as well. Sheri made the ceremony even more beautiful than we had expected. We were very pleased with how smooth the process was and how excellent the delivery of our ceremony was. Our guests commented how amazing the ceremony was and how it seemed like Sheri knew us very well and told our story perfectly.   My fiancé and I are Chicago transplants and the majority of our friends and family are out of state. However, we were getting married in Chicago. We were nervous about hiring an officiant because we wanted to make sure that our ceremony was very personal and intimate.
  
  And then we met Sheri Reda a Life-Cycle Celebrant. From our initial meeting she put us right at ease. She was very kind and friendly and we could tell that she would deliver exactly what we were looking for. The ceremony drafting process was a lot of fun to work on; and Sheri was very accommodating to our numerous changes and tweaks. She even worked with us last minute when an issue arose with our rehearsal and even helped in the search for a ceremony musician. The day of, the ceremony was amazing. Our guest commented on how intimate it was and how it was perfectly crafted for the two of us. We could not have done it without Sheri and recommend her completely; you will not be disappointed.

  Sheri was so amazing and really made the difference in making our special day absolutely perfect. She was always so attentive and quick to accommodate with every little detail. She made us feel so at ease with how our ceremony was going to go and always seemed to have the perfect suggestions whenever we weren't sure about something. Thanks Sheri!

  We were so glad to have found Sheri Reda, she was the perfect celebrant for our civil union. We really wanted help structuring the ceremony and making it really personal and Sheri did just that! She worked with us until we loved every detail of the ceremony and was wonderful to work with. Sheri was responsive and supportive and really told our story at the ceremony making it much more intimate. We can't begin to express how wonderful she is - Sheri met with us and we knew in the first conversation she was the officiant for us. Our guests really loved the ceremony and our friends and family said over and over how great Sheri was and how she made the ceremony unique and warm - it was like you could feel the love!   Sheri Reda was the celebrant for our amazing wedding, and we can't begin to express how wonderful she is. From the moment my husband and I met her, we knew we were in good hands. Sheri is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. Both of us felt very comfortable with her the moment we first sat down.
  
  Sheri took the time to really get to know us and find out what we wanted in our ceremony. She did this by talking to us, as well as having us fill out questionnaires. Once she felt she had gotten to know us, and what we were looking for, she wrote the most beautiful, personal ceremony. It was so lovely, it just made our whole wedding. We have gotten so many compliments on the ceremony. Most people are amazed at how personal and sweet it was. It was just perfect for us!
  
  We gave Sheri 5 stars in every category because she truly deserves these ratings. She is extremely professional, is always available for questions, takes time to find out what you are looking for and to write the ceremony of your dreams, is totally flexible, and is just an all-around wonderful person. All of this, and her fees are very reasonable.

  I was so concerned about finding the right person to do our ceremony. I was then concerned about writing the ceremony. We were recommended Sheri by our photographer and she gave us nothing but the best. She wrote our whole ceremony from us based on a questionnaire form we filled out. Changes and edits were painless. Our ceremony was religious yet personal enough that it pleased all ranges of our guests and they enjoyed listening. We got numerous compliments after the wedding letting us know how much they enjoyed our ceremony and our officiant. If you're looking for someone who knows what they're doing and can give a quick but memorable ceremony, Sheri is the way to go!
