Emily organized my 40th birthday party. She made my day a very special one. Emily is very organized and attentive. Everything ran smoothly and everyone had a blast.

We worked with Events by Emily for 9 months this year planning our 250-person late night wedding as well as smaller events of a bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, and post wedding brunch. Initially Emily helped us determine what style of planning worked best for us and was respectful about what type of communication and involvement worked best for us. Emily is creative, she thinks outside the box to create artistic atmospheres for her clients. She helped with every detail and helped keep us on track.

Our wedding was in no way traditional. We spent many months trying to find a wedding planner who could help evoke the feeling of being at a Burning Man type event while also satisfying our more traditional relatives. We were impressed that Emily has a rich history of creating events similar to ours. She built this event seamlessly and was quite resourceful to find vendors. We ended up with three music acts, a photo booth, oxygen bar, party bus, late night pizza and doughnuts, tea lounge, and a fortuneteller.

Emily’s passion for her work is evident. She is reliable, dedicated, transparent, knowledgeable, and the planner you should hire.

When our officiant backed out last minute, we felt trapped by the fact that the only officiants available were too traditional or religious for our tastes. Emily unambiguously came to our rescue, being modern and classy, organized and thoughtful, and an absolute delight to work with.

With only a month until our wedding, Emily helped us draft a ceremony giving us several great templates to build from, and then did a round of edits and personalizations to make it fit both us and her better: she asked both of us to tell our stories about how we met and fell in love, and then wove this into the ceremony itself.

In addition, Emily conducted a last-minute rehearsal for us which was hilarious and super helpful. Her professional organization skills really shone through in herding all of our cats that evening, even as she herself was a bit nervous in the read through.

On the big day Emily absolutely knocked it out of the park -- she was dignified without being too formal, she had grace and a sense of humor about goof-ups, and she rolled with our weird families. In the end, one of our favorite parts ended up being a slip of the tongue during the ceremony which got everyone laughing, and still Emily kept the ship sailing smoothly throughout the ceremony. She did such a great job, when an uncle got married this fall (after us), they asked for her contact info!

We cannot recommend her highly enough -- for coordination and behind the scenes, or for standing up front, Emily is a delight to work with.

Our wedding of about 80 guests was planned and run perfectly by Events by Emily. Emily was the liaison between the venue, caterer, the DJ, and the photographer. She was also the decorator and had a lot of great ideas. She was there on the day of the event to manage everything from setup to take-down. Overall, Emily was very easy to work with, communicative, and had a lot of great ideas and vendor recommendations. I highly recommend her.

Emily and I have worked together for the past year to produce large community events including SOAK*2015, a regional event related to Burning Man, and she has been my mentor as well as my partner. Her experience is broad, and her approach to planning & problem-solving is thorough, organized, patient, collaborative and creative. I strongly recommend her as an event planner.
