I don’t even know where to begin with Emily. First off, her talent is surpassed by none. She is passionate about her craft and it shines through in every shot. Not only is she talented, but she is so humble and is one of the kindest people I’ve ever met. We felt at ease taking our engagement and wedding pictures and by the time the wedding rolled around we considered her another friend. I am beyond grateful however for the photos she took of our family last year. Knowing there was a chance my grandmother would not make it to the wedding, we arranged to have family photos taken a year before the big day. She captured photos that we will treasure forever and I am beyond grateful that she was sensitive and handled the situation with such grace. Emily, thank you for making the last year and a half so memorable. My husband and I have already agreed to have Emily take our pictures every year, and I could not recommend Emily enough. If you’re thinking about hiring her, I promise she is worth every single penny.

I cannot speak any higher of Emily! It was one of the best decisions we made to have her capture our special day. My friends and family have not stopped raving about how amazing our photos are. When searching for a photographer, I found Emily on instagram and was immediately drawn to her work. Her portfolio is so strong and she clearly demonstrates that she has the ability to capture beautiful and meaningful moments. Our photos from our engagement and wedding truly tells the story and brings us back to those memories, which I am so grateful for. Her pictures are timeless, warm and romantic. While getting my hair and makeup done, Emily was kind enough to bring my dress, shoes and rings over to the venue for me, she made sure everything was stress free. The next day is when we were sent sneak peaks which I was so giddy about, that is so special and we were able to reminisce on photos heading to our honeymoon.

It’s hard to completely express the full gratitude my husband & I have to have been able to hire Emily for our wedding day. Truth be told we picked our date based on her availability and planned our whole wedding around that. I’ve known Emily for many years (we grew up as neighbors) & once I saw that she was in wedding photography I knew whenever my wedding came around she was exactly who I’d hire. Beyond her obvious talents, Emily is an all around gem of a human. Down to earth, kind, professional & so easy to work with. Her ability to capture the most precious moments in such a raw & authentic way is something that not all photographers can do. Emily made us both feel so comfortable in front of the camera, which is something we are both generally uncomfortable with. Needless to say, hiring Emily fulfilled a dream for me. If there is any advice I can give to future couples, when your wedding is over (& trust me it goes quick) all you have left are your photos and/or video. So, hire a photographer that gives you goosebumps, hire a photographer that is equally professional & kind, hire a photographer that knows the moments to capture & has an eye for detail, hire the photographer that has the ability to capture moments and turn them into magic and hire the photographer who you know you can look at their images over and over again and fall in love with the photos like it’s the first time you’ve seen them. The reasons listed are all what drew us to Emily. It was easily the best decision we made and we’d hire her a million times over.

I will keep it very simple - Emily is the absolute best and it is guaranteed you will love your experience with her!

Emily photographed our engagement shoot and our wedding and I knew from the minute we did the engagement shoot this was going to be an amazing experience. She took the time to really get to know us as a couple from the start and captured our emotions and our personalities so well. She was so sweet and kind, leading up to the wedding she was so responsive with any question I had. Her photography has blown us and all our friends and family away. Everyone is floored by her work. Thanks to her talents we have amazing photos that captured our emotions to help us relive that special day. I can only hope one day we will be able to work with her again. I don't even know how to thank Emily enough -
When I originally reached out to her, I was planning on having a small ceremony on Captiva Island and I was so excited to use her based on her work I had seen online. With a turn of events, we decided to elope in Greece. Initially, I was super disappointed that we weren't going to be able to use her anymore. To my pleasant surprise, Emily has a bucket list of places she wants to photograph where travel fees are waived - and Greece was one of them!! I immediately locked her in for our new date and her and her husband flew ALL the way to Greece with us for our elopement. And let me tell you, I cannot even begin to explain how amazing of a choice this was. Emily and her husband made us feel so so comfortable and we had the absolute best time hanging out with them, even though it was our first time meeting (although we had talked on the phone and texted leading up to it and already felt like friends just from that :)). Keep in mind - it was literally just the 4 of us since it was a true elopement!!! The entire shoot was relaxed and so much fun, and literally the highlight of our wedding day. On top of it, she generously gave us AMAZING sneak peaks the night of that way we could share with our friends and family since no one else was there for the wedding. Her husband even shot some videos and photos on our phones to share as well, they truly went above and beyond.

I'll let the photos speak for themselves! They turned out so absolutely unbelievable that I almost can't even believe they are mine. Booking Emily was the best decision I could have made! From beginning to end, she made it so easy, stress free and was extremely communicative. She is worth every single penny! Thank you thank you thank you!!!!

There is no way to express the gratitude we felt for having Emily be a part of our day. She was not only an incredible photographer - but a wonderful, calming and supportive friend to guide us through our wedding day. She was available from day one for any questions I had throughout the year, and just speaking with her, you feel a sense of relief and excitement - she truly has your back and your best interest in mind. We had a last minute Florida thunderstorm decide to move in on our day, but we didn’t let that stop us from playing in the rain and embracing the outside beauty of our venue. Emily didn’t hesitate with our requests and was right there in the rain with us. We never felt like we were posing, awkward or exhausted of photos - even the husband would agree! She created such a wonderful experience, and none the less, extraordinary photos. Her work captures the emotions, the special moments and the true entirety of the day. I can’t recommend Emily enough - yes, you will receive professional services and stunning photos, but you will also receive a supportive friend you didn’t know you needed on your big day.

PS - I initially said we didn’t need the Engagement session, and then changed my mind - and I’m so glad we did! This time gives you and your hubby the opportunity to meet and trial run with Emily and helped eliminate any nerves or expectations for the day of! Highly recommend for anyone else that was debating the option :)

Emily was the BEST decision for our wedding photographer. She has the kindest heart and made us feel incredibly comfortable all day being photographed (which is not the easiest when all eyes are on you!) If you have looked at her photos, it’s easy to see how amazing her photography is but getting our gallery back was just jaw dropping! She captured the most beautiful moments and was such a calming presence the day of. We even had sneak peaks the morning after our wedding and it was the best surprise!! I truly could not recommend Emily Mathewson enough. Hiring her to do our wedding photography at Armature Works was one of the BEST decisions we made. When I saw Emily's work, I knew I had to have her. It takes a quick glance at her work to see how beautiful and unique her style is. Emily was so easy to communicate with and always put me at ease during our wedding planning experience. She has the most calm, comforting demeanor. On the day of our wedding, she made us feel SO comfortable and she had such a chill energy to her. My bridesmaids and family raved about her and how you could barely tell she was there and she never made us feel bombarded with taking photos and yet she managed to get so many. Not only did we know we made the best decision on the day of the wedding, but once we received our wedding gallery (in impressive timing) we knew we 100000% could not have hired anyone better. She captured every detail so perfectly and beautifully we could not be more grateful. I have had SO many tell me they are the most stunning wedding photos they have ever seen and so many future brides ask me who took them.
