All Around Amazing Photographer and Person
Emily photographed our engagement shoot and our wedding and I knew from the minute we did the engagement shoot this was going to be an amazing experience. She took the time to really get to know us as a couple from the start and captured our emotions and our personalities so well. She was so sweet and kind, leading up to the wedding she was so responsive with any question I had. Her photography has blown us and all our friends and family away. Everyone is floored by her work. Thanks to her talents we have amazing photos that captured our emotions to help us relive that special day. I can only hope one day we will be able to work with her again. We were so lucky to have her capture our special day. -

I can't recommend Emily enough!!!!
I don't even know how to thank Emily enough -
When I originally reached out to her, I was planning on having a small ceremony on Captiva Island and I was so excited to use her based on her work I had seen online. With a turn of events, we decided to elope in Greece. Initially, I was super disappointed that we weren't going to be able to use her anymore. To my pleasant surprise, Emily has a bucket list of places she wants to photograph where travel fees are waived - and Greece was one of them!! I immediately locked her in for our new date and her and her husband flew ALL the way to Greece with us for our elopement. And let me tell you, I cannot even begin to explain how amazing of a choice this was. Emily and her husband made us feel so so comfortable and we had the absolute best time hanging out with them, even though it was our first time meeting (although we had talked on the phone and texted leading up to it and already felt like friends just from that :)). Keep in mind - it was literally just the 4 of us since it was a true elopement!!! The entire shoot was relaxed and so much fun, and literally the highlight of our wedding day. On top of it, she generously gave us AMAZING sneak peaks the night of that way we could share with our friends and family since no one else was there for the wedding. Her husband even shot some videos and photos on our phones to share as well, they truly went above and beyond.
I'll let the photos speak for themselves! They turned out so absolutely unbelievable that I almost can't even believe they are mine. Booking Emily was the best decision I could have made! From beginning to end, she made it so easy, stress free and was extremely communicative. She is worth every single penny! Thank you thank you thank you!!!!

There is no way to express the gratitude we felt for having Emily be a part of our day. She was not only an incredible photographer - but a wonderful, calming and supportive friend to guide us through our wedding day. She was available from day one for any questions I had throughout the year, and just speaking with her, you feel a sense of relief and excitement - she truly has your back and your best interest in mind. We had a last minute Florida thunderstorm decide to move in on our day, but we didn’t let that stop us from playing in the rain and embracing the outside beauty of our venue. Emily didn’t hesitate with our requests and was right there in the rain with us. We never felt like we were posing, awkward or exhausted of photos - even the husband would agree! She created such a wonderful experience, and none the less, extraordinary photos. Her work captures the emotions, the special moments and the true entirety of the day. Her photos are genuine, natural and timeless - as you can see for yourself in her portfolios and instagram.
I couldn’t imagine our day without Emily by our side, and we will continue to request her for all future life stages! I can’t recommend Emily enough - yes, you will receive professional services and stunning photos, but you will also receive a supportive friend you didn’t know you needed on your big day.
PS - I initially said we didn’t need the Engagement session, and then changed my mind - and I’m so glad we did! This time gives you and your hubby the opportunity to meet and trial run with Emily and helped eliminate any nerves or expectations for the day of! Highly recommend for anyone else that was debating the option :)

Emily is absolutely incredible - she makes you feel like you have known her for YEARS, she is there from start to finish as if she's a best friend celebrating you all day by your side, and truly just a JOY to be around. She made my husband and I so comfortable in front of the camera from engagement shoot to wedding day, played music to pump up the bridal party for photos, and made our entire blended family comfortable the entire day. Emily sent pictures literally not even 20 hours after she left the reception, which were more than just sneak peaks. I would be happy if the photos sent next day were the entire album - she is just THAT good!!! Emily, Mitch & I can't thank you enough - thank you for being YOU and just the most amazing photographer ever!!! -

Emily was the BEST decision for our wedding photographer. She has the kindest heart and made us feel incredibly comfortable all day being photographed (which is not the easiest when all eyes are on you!) If you have looked at her photos, it’s easy to see how amazing her photography is but getting our gallery back was just jaw dropping! She captured the most beautiful moments and was such a calming presence the day of. We even had sneak peaks the morning after our wedding and it was the best surprise!! Working with Emily was a dream and I highly recommend you run and book her for your big day!! -

Emily is the best of the best! She was so easy to work with and made our day seamless AND the pictures are AMAZING! She completely exceeded all of my expectations. She made the picture taking process on the day of quick and easy (even the bridal party made comments about how smooth the process was). The pictures are a dream and capture the true authenticity of the day. I would use Emily over and over again! Highly recommend! -

I truly could not recommend Emily Mathewson enough. Hiring her to do our wedding photography at Armature Works was one of the BEST decisions we made. When I saw Emily's work, I knew I had to have her. It takes a quick glance at her work to see how beautiful and unique her style is. Emily was so easy to communicate with and always put me at ease during our wedding planning experience. She has the most calm, comforting demeanor. On the day of our wedding, she made us feel SO comfortable and she had such a chill energy to her. My bridesmaids and family raved about her and how you could barely tell she was there and she never made us feel bombarded with taking photos and yet she managed to get so many. Not only did we know we made the best decision on the day of the wedding, but once we received our wedding gallery (in impressive timing) we knew we 100000% could not have hired anyone better. She captured every detail so perfectly and beautifully we could not be more grateful. I have had SO many tell me they are the most stunning wedding photos they have ever seen and so many future brides ask me who took them. -

We used Emily for our engagement and wedding photography and we were BLOWN AWAY. She is calm, cool and collected on site and makes you feel super comfortable. My husband and I are probably the two most awkward people and she gave us ideas and made us look like models. 10000/10 recommend. -

Emily Mathewson Photography is absolutely amazing! Emily is so much fun to work with. We had the pleasure of working with her on our engagement photos and wedding photos. Her pictures are so stunning and she knows how to capture the best moments so effortlessly. She even sent me a sneak peak of our wedding photos the next day. The best!
Emily did an amazing job for our wedding!! We first met Emily in Colorado where she took our engagement pictures. We started the engagement shoot at 6 am for sunrise pictures. She told us what to do and we never felt awkward! For the wedding, Emily went above and beyond. She arrived early and went right to work. She was quick with the getting ready pictures - as we had a tight timeline. For the first look, everything went perfectly and I am obsessed with the pictures. I told Emily that I would love for us and our bridal party to be able to make it to the cocktail hour. She made it happen! We took most of the pictures before the ceremony and then spent about 30 minutes after the ceremony on pictures so that we were able to enjoy the second half of the cocktail hour. The rest of the night, Emily spent capturing every moment. The next morning, she even sent us about 10 pictures to preview and share!! I would not hesitate to book Emily for your wedding!!Emily Mathewson Photography's reply:

Hiring Emily was hands down the best decision we could have made for our wedding! She was willing to work with us where she could for price point and hours, which we really appreciated. We did an engagement shoot about 11 months prior to our wedding, which was great because we really got to know her and we could figure out what kinds of shots we liked/what we didn't like well before the wedding. Plus, we kept in touch throughout the year, which was great! By the time the wedding rolled around, she felt like a friend. On our wedding day, she kept me sane throughout the entirety of the day (even when hair and makeup were running an hour behind schedule). She scoped out areas beforehand and guided us for the perfect shots without feeling super posed. She texted me nearly 20 photos less than 24 hours after our wedding, and the entire wedding album in LESS THAN A MONTH, and every photo was absolutely gorgeous...even the party/reception shots were a hit, despite our lack of lighting when our vendor never delivered market lights. Emily captured our day beautifully, and I couldn't be happier with our decision to hire her for our big day. Highly, highly recommend her services. -

Best photographer out there
Hiring Emily as our photographer was the best decision we made for our wedding!! Our photos turned out more perfect than I could have ever imagined, and I am so grateful that we found her to capture our day. Our photographer, for me, was the most important vendor at the wedding. I really wanted the perfect photos so I researched a ton of different photographers before she was recommended to me. From the get go, she was organized and super easy to communicate with. She really helped me figure out what I wanted out of our wedding photos. She thought of everything, things I would never have known about. She even sends out an awesome booklet to her brides, showcasing her photography and giving all sorts of helpful tips. I read probably a million wedding blogs and that booklet was more helpful than anything I read. Day of, she was such a calm presence. She knew the right shots to get and how to rangle our super rowdy bridal party and family. She timed everything Perfectly in the unpredictable Rocky Mountain weather. She got all of the bridal party photos before a big storm rolled through, and was just a very calming presence for me as rain loomed over my wedding day. She was so organized and knew exactly what to do throughout the day. The pictures she took during the ceremony are absolutely breath taking. It was these unposed shots that you cannot replicate that impressed me the most- I truly do not think anyone else would have been able to capture our wedding the way that Emily did. We didn’t do a first look, so we took all of our “posed” shots after the ceremony. I am typically impatient and awkward when it comes to taking pictures- plus I was eager to get to our reception. Emily managed to get ALL of the perfect shots so quickly, even with a big family that does not listen very well to direction. I never once felt awkward. And none of our pictures turned out looking cheesy or posed. Emily gave us much needed gentle direction but never “forced” anything, and that shows in the photos. She even sent me a “sneak peak” of about 10 photos the NEXT MORNING!! Idk how she managed to do that so quickly, I imagine she was up late editing. You can tell she really cares about her couples and wants to give them the wedding photos of their dreams, which is exactly what she did. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Emily. She is really good at what she does. Our wedding photos came out more perfect than I could have ever imagined. If you are lucky enough to have Emily there to capture your special moments, you will not regret it. -

Emily was an absolute dream to work with on our wedding day! She felt like family throughout the entire process and got some amazing shots we can't wait to cherish for many years to come. Not only is she incredible at what she does, but she also has a calmness about her that's so refreshing on what can be one of the most stressful days for any bride. If i could give her 10 stars, I totally would. She is worth every penny plus more! I'd recommend her to anyone looking for STELLAR service and quality photos. THANK YOU EMILY! -
