This second hand and consignment shop is amazing. I was super lucky and ended up finding a dress that I loved that had already been tailored to the previous wearer, who had almost my exact measurements. I saved so much on alterations because I only needed to take the top in a bit. As a shorter person, not needing it hemmed was just amazing.
The staff is very helpful, dresses are fairly priced, and there are so many different styles to pick from. Love that they're used or consignment so the dresses get more use in their lifetime, and you can even rent them if you prefer! Definitely worth checking out this shop.

I got my wedding gown on consignment from Emerald City Gowns. The appointment booking system is very easy, and they have a great selection. I got an amazing Jenny Yoo for less than $800. Highly recommend for budget and environmentally conscious brides!

I decided to drive to Berkeley from Santa Cruz to shop for my dress from Emerald City Gowns because they specialize in consignment and sample dresses. I didn’t want to have a new dress created just for my wedding and also planned my wedding in a short time period which made buying a dress I could take home the same day very appealing. My sister and mom came with me to help find a dress and they’re organized by size. We found so many gorgeous dresses that it was hard to decide on one, but I was able to make the decision on that first appointment and absolutely loved it for my wedding day! After the wedding I had it cleaned and consigned it back with Emerald City Gowns and hope that another bride will be able to use the dress again. Thank you Emilie and Emerald City Gowns!

We had two apts that day, one at Emerald City Gowns, and another at a fancy boutique in SF. When we got to Emerald City, we were greeted by the nicest girl and I regret that I can no longer remember her name (She was super cute and had really curly black shorter hair). She was dressed so cute, hair and makeup done and was so happy, she seemed to really love her job. She worked with us, was super flexible and allowed me to try on anything I (or the people I was with) wanted. While there, I found the perfect gently used gown that online was $8,000, and had the most perfect embroidery lace of an $8,000 gown. Although, knowing I had the other apt, I paid a small fee to put my dress on hold and we went to SF. In this fancy boutique, the saleswoman was dressed in ripped jeans and a t-shirt, acted like we were a bother (even though we had an appointment) but whatever, I tried not to let it bother me. I tried on a few dressed, and they were all beautiful but so tight I could barely walk, never mind dance. We decided the first dress was the one, we quickly called her back at Emerald City 5 minutes before they closed and raced back over there. She stayed open an extra 25 minutes after closing for us, waiting for us to come back.. and once we did, she did not rush us a single bit. I tried the dress on once more to make sure, we popped a bottle of champagne, and I said Yes to the Dress! Thank you to this place for being so accommodating, to the sale woman who was beyond a pleasure to work with, and for allowing me to get the $8,000 gown of my dreams, gently used and in perfect condition for only $1,300!!!

After trying on dresses at three other dress shops, we finally found where we were meant to be. This bridal shop is not pretentious but it’s classy and intimate with so many options of dresses. The staff was helpful and involved but not overbearing. I found two dresses that I loved and it is staff did not seem irritated that I kept wavering between the both of them and urged me to keep trying on both. I went all over the SF Bay Area in search of my dream dress. I even made a consultation to come up with a custom gown when I realized that what I wanted was at Emerald City Gowns all along. I was the kind of bride who thought she knew what she wanted until I came across the dress I could actually imagine myself walking down the aisle in. Sonja helped me both of the times I came in and it is all thanks to her that I found my dress. It was fun being styled and felt good knowing the environmental impact of choosing a consignment gown. ECG also has samples for sale as well as some made to order gowns. I highly recommend a stop at this shop, especially for anyone as unsure as I was. You might be pleasantly surprised!

I went in not expecting to get anything but came out with a reasonably priced dress. It wasn't cheap but I appreciated the time and effort they put into me finding the right dress for me. Plus, they have a good variety of accessories such as belts, pins, and crowns.

I loved my experience in choosing my wedding dress, it was actually the 3rd dress I tried on! The ladies were so nice and sweet, and had me try on various accessories to go with my dress. They also recommended a fantastic seamstress so I could make a few alterations to the consignment gown I purchased, it is a beautiful dress and I love it as much now as the day I bought it!

This is where wedding dreams are made of! I found my dream dress here. I gave them an array of dresses I was interested in and they basically brought back a variety of dresses for me to try on. They understood that the dress is so important to a bride so they took their time letting me try on dresses and even let me mull over my top two over the day so I could be sure I made the right decision. When I came back, I was able to try the dresses on again just to be extra sure.

In the end, I really chose to go with Emerald City because of this was a dress worn once or twice before me. It's nice to know that the choice I was making was not only something I felt good in but also an environmentally friendly choice. Wedding gowns are often just worn once - why not make sure to reuse them so that they are used to their full potential!

This store is incredible. I ended up finding an off-the-rack Martina Liana that is gorgeous. The second I put it on I took my own breath away. And the price was absolutely unbeatable. I went back 2 days later and bought it. The women who run this store are really amazing, create a fantastic experience. And they're super responsive, whenever I've called they get back to me right away. I highly highly highly recommend if you live in the Bay Area, do yourself a favor take a Saturday and go by this shop. You might just find the dress of your dreams like I did.
