It was so hard coordinating all the bridemaids' appointments. I had no idea it was going to be so difficult. Trying to figure out who wanted their hair and nails, or just hair, or just nails was getting on my nerves. But the receptionist at Elany Image was very patient and friendly with me everytime I called to make changes. The week before the wedding, the mentioned what the total price was going to be. I had already done the calculations based on the Internet prices, so I was totally floored when they said it was close to $1000. (I calculated about $350 for six girls.) Apparently, it costs double to make appts before the store opens on a Saturday (and why they don't open before 10am is beyond me). Also, bridal parties cost more than the regular price because "wedding parties are often more picky and take much longer than usual." That was unacceptable to me so I told her to cancel all of my appts -- we would do our own hair before paying that much money. So she tries to calm me down by offering to bring us in when they open, but only four of us could go because they can only do two at a time and we had to leave by noon. Okay, so that bumps down the price a little, but not to the advertised price. So I argue with her about how unfair it is to bump up prices just because it's a wedding. I am furious by now, explaining to her that the whole wedding business is a scam. She finally decides to give us the advertised price. So I'm happy, but I had to send two of my friends to another salon that day. And once the prices and the appts got figured out, the quality of their work was great. I usually go here to get my hair cut twice a year, so I knew they did good work. Hopefully they don't recognize me as the crazy bride when I go in for a trim next month...
