About

I have always had a passion for event planning! It is rewarding to see a clients reaction when their vision comes to life after months of planning. I studied Hospitality at UCSD and received a wedding planning certificate in 2001. I joined the El Indio family in 1998 and it has been my home ever since. My outgoing personality, drive and savvy business sense has proven to be a good combination for El Indio. I am always on the lookout for ways to enhance my knowledge in this industry and to be on top of the latest catering & wedding trends. I am a member of several catering and special event organizations such as NACE, National Association for Catering Executives and Catersource.

We were really excited to have El Indio cater our wedding. We love their food and wanted Mexican food served at our wedding. We worked with Martha who was a pleasure to work with. She listened to what we needed and worked with our budget. The staff that catered our wedding were extremely professional. We had approx. 150 guests and they were all raving about the food.

I would recommend El Indio for catering to everyone! The food was fantastic and Martha was so awesome to work with. We even got to take all the leftovers home. Thank you so much Martha for making my day so awesome!

It is clear that El Indio has catered a lot of weddings. Martha and the day-of staff were very professional. They worked with us to stay within budget and with minimal up-selling. They are a VERY affordable option to feed a lot of people. We received numerous compliments.

Onsite planning with Martha and Rudy was easy. They arrived prepared, brought samples, were up to date on the latest contract revisions, and made realistic suggestions on equipment arrangements/layout, as well as time-lines.

Invoicing revision was a bit protracted, but acceptable, and required only minimal prompting.

We arrived to our big day, and everything had been set up ahead of schedule, up to half an hour early.

The food was deliciously prepared and presented. Our only complaint is that we ordered black beans but received pinto. Details.

Party rentals were contracted directly with El Indio, but outsourced to San Diego Party Rentals.

For extra fees, El Indio moved ceremony chairs to reception tables, and cleaned up the entire event for us with maximum efficiency. There was a difficult access fee based on our location.

There was a small payment snafu at the end of the night, in that the on-site staff were working from an outdated invoice, and requested a remaining balance payment that was $2k over the final, revised invoice balance. I quick call to Martha resolved the issue, but we felt bad having them disturb her at 11pm.
