I didn’t end up ordering the dress through no fault of their own, my wedding had to be pushed much earlier than I expected, but I’d highly recommend them to any bride looking for something reliable and custom.

We had a great experience with EMD and this was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! We wanted a more modern way to represent our Chinese/Vietnamese cultures and also more comfortable/flexible clothes for dancing the night away at the reception. The Sahra jumpsuit and Hong jacket were the perfect combination! We were a bit concerned about the color choices, but we looked so striking in the bright reds that my worries quickly washed away. I got so many comments about the jumpsuit, from guests loving the train to it being called “the perfect outfit for the modern Asian bride.” We also had a good experience with customer service as the EMD team remade my jumpsuit after some fitting issues with the first set I received. I have no idea how or when, but I can’t wait to find another event to go to so we can wear these outfits again!

I love my dress! I ordered a dress for my Tea Ceremony in Chicago. I loved the variety on the website and I especially loved how my dress turned out. The East Meets Dress team was easy to work with and very helpful. For such a reasonable cost, I was very impressed with the quality of my dress too. As a Chinese American, I wanted my wedding dress to reflect my East meets West upbringing. I never grew up with red envelopes or even knew about the tea ceremony so a traditional qipao or qun kwa didn't seem appropriate. From the first time I heard about East Meets Dress, I was drawn to the Amelia dress. It's flowy, light, and comfortable and it incorporates the mandarin collar detail that I love.

Working with EMD was easy. I took measurements at home with the help of my then-fiance. Although the first iteration of the dress wasn't perfect, we had great communication with EMD and I was able to send it back for round 2. The entire process from start to finish took less than 3 months and the final result was everything I had hoped for.

For less than $500, where else can you get a custom-made dress that represents Asian American culture so well?

Originally I was planning a trip to Hong Kong to purchase a qun kwa for my wedding, but wasn't able to fly due to COVID19. I found East Meets Dress and was nervous about the quality because I wasn't able to see the fabrics in person. I'm soo happy I ordered from them though! Even thought I didn't order a bespoke dress, they had me submit my measurements and made sure the size I ordered would fit me more accurately. My qun kwa came soon after and it's beautiful. The embroidery is intricate and the fabric is just as elegant. It doesn't feel cheap or tacky at all. Definitely would recommend!

I'm a Korean 2023 bride marrying into a Chinese family so for our wedding day, my fiance's family wanted to do a Tea Ceremony. While they said I don't need to buy a whole new Qi Pao for the occasion, I wanted to make it special and memorable. I came across East Meets Dress on a quick Google search. After watching a few YouTube videos, reading some additional reviews online, and coming across a helpful Reddit post, I felt confident that this was the right choice - and it was! I didn't order the custom sizing - just simply looked at the size chart and ordered the standard sizing according to my measurements. For reference, I'm 5'0 and my measurements are bust 39", waist 32-33", hips 40.5" - ordered 3XL. I can probably get away with 2XL but I wanted it to feel comfortable enough for me to move/dance/eat in. It took just about 3.5-4 weeks to arrive from order to delivery. It just arrived in the mail last night and it fits wonderfully! I have some wiggle room in case I need to get it altered a bit if I happen to lose more weight, but it fits fine as is!

Ordered my wedding dress from east meets dress. The ordering process was very smooth. I chose the style of dress I wanted from their website. They allowed for a few customizations, like length of train, length of sleeves, the back style. On top of the above-mentioned customizations that you can choose from a drop down menu during the ordering process, I also asked them to change the color of the buttons and piping. They made that happen and sent me photos while the dress was being made to make sure I liked the color. It took them less than 2 months to get the dress made and delivered. What a hassle free process. I knew the style I wanted and definitely did not want to waste time going from store to store. Since the whole process was done online, I had to send them my measurements online. As long as people don't screw up the measurements, I feel the end product will meet customer expectations. Highly recommend them!!!

It was a very very difficult process trying to find a place that sold cheongsams. Being a resident of New York City, I thought there'd be an abundance of shops in Chinatown or Flushing that sold them or could custom make them from you. There aren't really.

I am not a fan of the more traditional brocade style fabric that cheongsams are made of (for weddings), and I was so happy to find East Meets Dress. They have a huge variety of collections that I think are stylish but modern. I was hesitant about ordering a dress online where I had to measure myself, but it turned out *mostly* okay. I think if you want a well fitted cheongsam, you will almost always need to get it tailored, so if you do order, just know that will happen. Throughout the process, East Meets Dress was very responsive. They allowed me to make adjustments throughout the time they were making the dress and were really flexible. I always felt taken care of, and never had any concerns about my dress throughout the three months it took from me ordering the dress to finally receiving it.

The dress is beautiful and I am in the midst of alterations. I think after I get it properly fitted, it will look beautiful and I am excited to wear it.
