We hired East Coast Clambakes to cater our wedding reception on a covered deck at our marina (Safe Harbor Essex Island) in Essex, CT, and they were exceptional! We chose the traditional lobster bake and added the charcuterie board, strawberry shortcake for dessert, and soft drinks/bottled waters. From food to service, everything was top-notch.

Prior to the event, working with Justin was a absolute breeze. He was incredibly easy to contact and helped us set up a timeline for the day that fit perfectly with our schedule. My sister-in-law and I also attended a tasting ahead of time, which was a fantastic experience and gave us a great preview of what to expect.

On the day of the event, Justin and his team arrived early, set up flawlessly, and cooked within sight of our guests; which was a huge hit and super fun for everyone to watch! Even though we ended up with a chilly, rainy day, the team maintained the best spirits, remaining gracious, kind, friendly, professional, and highly efficient without disrupting the flow of the party at all.

The timing of the food was excellent, and the presentation perfectly matched our coastal vibe. The food itself was outstanding; every single one of our guests commented on how amazing it was. Personally, my favorites were the clams, clam chowder, lobster, rolls, and the incredible cheese selection on the charcuterie board.

We were thrilled when we found East Coast Clambakes as it was everything we were looking for! Our wedding was at our home, outside, late summer and we wanted an upscale BBQ feel. Me and my wife reached out to Kevin late last year for an event this summer. From start to finish, Kevin and his crew were absolutely amazing to work with. They worked around our timing and even offered helpful advice on our appetizer hour that we were stressing over. We ended up going with their Clambake Menu and added in a charcuterie board, a fresh garden vegetable platter, bacon-wrapped scallops, grilled beef kabobs, and some additional desserts.
