Do not hire doc's feel good music for your wedding
DO NOT HIRE DOC’S FEEL GOOD MUSIC FOR YOUR WEDDING. I don’t even know where to begin with this review, that’s how bad of a DJ Bruce was.
I guess the only place to start is from the beginning. The first red flag which went unnoticed was the horribly outdated aol.com email which is also an unprofessional and misspelled email ‘lokn4anrs’. Not using his name or the business name stood out but I looked past it at the time.
The first red flag I picked up on was about 2 months before the wedding. My wife had indicated on the knot that he was our DJ. This must have alerted him because he reached out to her saying that dates were not secure until a deposit was paid. I had to then reach out to him confirming that we signed a contract and paid the deposit over 6 months prior.
A week before the wedding I submitted a work sheet he had provided with special songs for the evening, names of our party members. A few days later he asked me to resend it because “his computer ate it”. Mind you this was just a pdf attachment in an email and he was responding to the same email I had sent, so he could have just downloaded the attachment again if somehow his computer “ate” the previously downloaded copy. It took 4 attempts for him to finally be able to open the pdf.
In addition to filling out the form he provided. We also shared spotify playlists with him of ceremony music, dinner music, and dance music. I don’t know how much easier we could have made that for him. Prior to our ceremony he was not playing our playlist. His excuse was that he could not connect to the wifi. Excuse but that is why I made sure you had the playlists previously and you can download them to your computer. This was already an issue on another review that he claims to have learned from.
He played the wrong song while my wife walked down the aisle. He didn’t play the processional song we wanted. He announced us before the rest of the wedding party when doing introductions. He stumbled through reading the names of our wedding party pairs. I literally had to tell him each pair, since me and my wife were already done since he announced us first. He almost played the wrong song when I danced with my mom, good thing I was in front of him and corrected him.
When he had to deviate off of the playlist for any of these special songs he did not go back to the playlist and instead just kept on with the songs the spotify algorithm came up with based on the one song. When I brought this up to him he tried arguing with me that this was my playlist. Really? You’re telling me I don’t know what we put on our playlist, and you have the audacity to argue? I later. Watched as he managed to get signed out of spotify and sat there for 10 minutes attempting to log back into his AOL account with an incorrect password error that kept popping up.
Finally at the end of the night after getting paid the balance of what I owed him, he decided to just cut the night 45 minutes short. This was an absolutely awful DJ experience. Do not make the same mistake we did, stay away from Doc’s Feel Good Music.
