We found Melissa difficult to get in touch with. She has several other jobs that seem to take priority. The reception area was not cleaned well (we moved furniture and found food that had been dropped from a previous event) and the skylights leaked. They did fix the leaks but only after we insisted several times. The reception area also had some furniture, etc that was not there when we signed the contract. On top of all else that we had to do to decorate, we were moving heavy furniture - we moved most of it to the covered area behind the barn but it was an eyesore for our guests. When that space was filled, we had to move some to a garage - it was pouring rain which made it more difficult. The fridge in the garage (which was the staging area for the caterers) did not work. The caterers left the leftover food from the reception in that fridge and since it was 5 or so hours later, we were concerned about using it. It is a beautiful location but beware that it is 100% DIY. For an exhausted family, breaking down all the tables and moving the heavy (unused) furniture after a long and emotional day definitely detracts from the experience. The venue did not seem like a good value for $2700.00. Make sure you have LOTS of help for clean up and realize that not everyone who says they will stay to help, actually does :)
