We can’t say enough wonderful things about our experience with Derrick. We were lucky to have him take our engagement photos and then capture our wedding day alongside his amazing assistant, Jen. From start to finish, Derrick was responsive, professional, and unbelievably talented. Everyone can give you traditional photos, but not everyone can capture who you are, not everyone can capture complete moments in time in their fullest feeling, and not everyone can do it and still be totally innovative. Derrick Zellmann shot my son and daughter in-law’s wedding - he is the best - attractive, creative and gifted. He has such a special eye for designing each image artfully while at the same time his warm, welcome and calm presence making his couples and ther families feel completely at ease. He is dedicate to the shot! When I say this guy was Everywhere, I mean it - on the ground, up high and sideways and any other ways you can think of to get the shot and when the night was over and the lights turned on Derrick was still there! I can't stop looking at my wedding photos! From the very beginning Derrick was super professional, calming, and it was clear he knew what he was doing. I was very nervous about the time crunch we had for my photos as we did not do a first look but with Derrick there I knew it was all going to work out. I had no clue he had visited our venue days before the wedding to scope out places for good photos- I was super impressed! You will not regret having Derrick as your photographer! Derrick is in a league of his own. He is patient, kind, flexible, WONDERFUL to work with, so creative and just overall a great person. I don’t like getting my picture taken usually and from the first photo during our engagement shoot to the last photo at our wedding, he made us feel comfortable and relaxed! It was just like hanging out with a friend, except getting your picture taken. So many people came up to me and told me what a joy he was to be around and how amazing his energy was, which I couldn’t agreed with more! He is so attentive, listens to what you’re looking for and goes above and beyond anything imaginable. His eye for how to take a moment or space and make it pure magic is incredible. Derrick is the photographer you hope to have capturing every moment on your wedding day. He was incredibly flexible with meeting before the wedding, accommodating my schedule and location. During our planning meeting he took many notes, asked about lots of details, and most importantly listened to what I was looking for. We walked around our venue with him beforehand since he hadn't shot there yet and it was incredible watching how his eye finds these unique spots for great photo opportunity. The day of the wedding came and it was like having a good friend around. Everyone in the bridal party and even our guests commented on how friendly he was, attentive to what was going on, and a pleasure to have around. Derrick gave helpful direction while also allowing us to be ourselves. He made sure to tell us to take a breather when we'd had too many photos in a row and our faces were getting a little stiff. We also had a second photographer T on site and she was just as amazing to work with! She spent the time before the ceremony with the guys and they all commented how fun she was to work with. When we saw the first sneak peek picture Derrick posted on facebook, it brought tears to both me and my husband's eyes. Hands-down, an amazing photographer, awesome person, and is incredibly talented at what he does. Thank you, Derrick!!

As a couple who hates taking photos (we had about 10 photos together in 5 years of dating), Derrick made us feel so at ease on our wedding day. He was willing to snap any photo we or our guests requested. He also had an eye for poses and photo locations at our venue we could never have imagined.

We worked with Derrick to capture our engagement photos and our wedding day. We had been referred to him by family and already knew he took beautiful photographs, but we were completely in awe of what he was able to capture on our wedding day. Derrick has a talent for capturing beautiful moments in a completely unobtrusive way. He didn't miss a single detail, and yet I hardly remember seeing or speaking to him the entire night. Something that stuck out to me was when he told me that our wedding wasn't meant to be a photoshoot, and he's right. We were not away from the party for more than a few moments after the ceremony. Derrick was incredibly organized, got the shots we discussed, and then let us enjoy our wedding celebrations with family and friends!
