About
Being a native of San Diego, I was lucky enough to grow up in Cardiff by the Sea. I spent my summers hitting VG's Donuts on the way down to the reef for coffee and donuts before paddling out on the glassy water for tiny summer swells. Eventually, I started spending all my spare time (and all of my money) at Lou's Records instead of surf shops.
It was with my grandmothers old 1970's Hasselblad, a pair of lenses, and a hand-held light meter that I learned how to make an accurate exposure, and how to compose an image. I miss the smell of freshly unwrapped film, and shooting square frames.
After years of photographing weddings, in every environment imaginable, I've learned to see the world a little differently than other people. Every time I walk down the street, or walk in to a room, I instinctively look for the direction of the light, and imagine how I could make the best possible image.
I really do thrive on making the best images I can for my clients. I want viewers to feel what it was like to be part of the day. Sure, all weddings have a ceremony, and usually a party, but it's the people that make each wedding it's own unique celebration. Your wedding will not be exactly like any other wedding that has ever happened. It will be yours. The next day, when you are wondering how it all went by so fast, you still have your photographs to remember it by.
