About
On WeddingWire since 2023
This historic Deerwoode Reserve property in Brevard, North Carolina, was first developed as a summer camp in the 1920's. Now, it's become a mountain getaway for couples, families, and groups and a gathering place for weddings and other celebrations. With the addition of The Mayes Event Center in 2024, Deerwoode Reserve creates the perfect destination for your wedding reception, with accommodations for family and friends. While the event center is under construction in 2023, our property has a beautiful scenic flat grassy area where we can host outdoor ceremonies and receptions.
Explore all that Deerwoode Reserve has to offer. Rustic lodgings, from studio cabins to 4-bedroom cabins, are situated throughout the property. The Coyote Lodge is the largest indoor space with a sprawling 2-story great room, 4 master suites (sleeps up to 18), and a capacity of 50 guests for an event. With 11 cabins total, our property can accommodate up to 74 overnight guests. Our amenities include an 8-acre lake that's great for paddling around in our canoes and kayaks. The swimming hole, filled by spring water from the mountain, is a great spot to cool off. We have many ponds for fishing and hammocks for relaxing. There are over 5 miles of trails through nature, along The French Broad River, around waterways, through the bamboo forest, and up our mountain. All 175 acres of this property are part of a Conservation Easement in partnership with Conserving Carolina. This means that we are mindful of the land and water features and act in our best interest to preserve the natural beauty of this property. This allows for some pretty amazing wildlife, natural habitat settings, and beautiful views. We are proud to be a Certified Wildlife Habitat. There are over five miles of trails across the entire 175 acres of Deerwoode Reserve, perfect for hiking and biking. Enjoy easy-going trails following over a mile of the French Broad River’s edge. There are several trails on flat areas where you can stroll around the ponds, through pasture, and even a bamboo forest, along with a few trails that meander through and climb to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain.
Plan your next group or family gathering at Deerwoode Reserve. With ample room to spread out, and many accommodation options available, it’s the perfect place to bring together your group of friends and family. Book just the cabins you need, and your whole group can enjoy all the property amenities, or book the whole property and ensure your group has private use of the entire site during your stay.
