We recently had a Wedding in Newport RI. After speaking with several caterers in the area we decided to broaden our search. We looked at caterers all over Rhode Island. We decided to look into Chelo's after attending a wedding at their location on the water in Warwick, RI. The food was delicious and the staff was attentive and friendly. We decided to contact Summer who oversees the catering at Chelo's . Summer was very professional and accommodating. We were not sure they would travel to Newport to cater a reception, however Summer assured us they do travel and would be happy to help us with our reception. My daughter and fiancé met with Summer to go over menu options and logistics. Once the meal was selected, Summer set up a tasting so they could get an idea of what was going to be served. Everything was delicious and the meal plan was set. One question we had was did they cook the meal at Chelo's and transport or did they cook on site. We were pleased to hear they cooked on site. The meal choice consisted of Filet Mignon or Baked Stuffed Shrimp both accompanied by roasted red potatoes and green beans. Appetizers consisted of Clam Cakes and Chowder and Sliders which were all hot, fresh and delicious. We were concerned regarding to the Filet preparation because if not cooked right, it can be very tough. We were very pleased when the meal was served and every Filet was moist and juicy. The Filet was covered in a garlic butter sauce which complimented it perfectly. We cannot say enough about quality of the meal, both the Filet and Baked stuffed shrimp were hot moist and delicious. Summer and her staff were attentive, polite and professional. From appetizers through desserts everyone loved the food. When looking for a wedding caterer save yourself time and money by going with Chelo's. Your guaranteed to be completely satisfied with both the food and the service. Chelo's took care of everything from setup, getting the linens and tableware to clean up. Summer and her staff are amazing and I would recomment them for any Banquet or Catering needs.

Choosing Chelo’s was an absolute no brainer – and one of the best and easiest decisions when searching for our caterer. Their menu options, pricing, and most important – quality of food and service are unmatched. Working with Summer was an absolute pleasure. She answered ALL of my hundreds of questions, suggestions, and ideas with enthusiasm, thoughtfulness, and expertise. Summer and Chef Mark worked with us on customizing a menu that was uniquely us. We really wanted to incorporate some cultural elements into our big day. We set up a signature appetizer display to honor my husband’s Guatemalan heritage, and my Irish heritage. They adapted their ceviche appetizer to be made more authentically Guatemalan style and displayed those opposite some delicious Corned Beef Rueben sliders. They let us customize the late night French fry station to be upgraded to our favorite variety of fried potato - which is Tater Tots! It was hit with all of our guests. Everyone is still RAVING about how delicious the food was at our wedding. Their entire banquet and bar staff were professional, personable, and efficient. Summer and her team exceeded our expectations, and I am so happy that they were such an integral part of our special day.

Summer and the Chelos team blew us away! After our venue dropped the news about eight months out that they would no longer provide catering, we scrambled to find a vendor that would still be available for our labor day weekend wedding. Not only was Chelos available, they had the largest menu selections to choose from and were most reasonably priced. Summer was the most responsive and accommodating vendor we worked with, answering our countless questions and concerns. Living on the west coast meant we couldn’t attend a tasting, so we had family members pick up our menu selections to bring home and taste for themselves. The cocktail hour stations were beautiful and plentiful. Dinner was above and beyond delicious, having the leftovers of the handful of dreaded no-shows was an excellent consolation prize. They went above and beyond expectation, we couldn’t be more pleased. We highly recommend them for your next event, big or small.

Summer was the best caterer/wedding planner/therapist/decorator I could have asked for! After a terrible experience with our original caterer, she and the crew from Chelo's truly made our vision come to life. She was over communicative and went above and beyond, being so prepared on the day. The chef was accommodating and even made the off the menu appetizers we made up. All these positives for the best price of any caterer we came across. They really did the most amazing job and I would hire them again in a second.

I can’t speak highly enough of this catering company and their coordinator Summer Murphy. We got married at the towers in Narragansett on 5/1/21 after a postponed November wedding. Throughout the chaos of Covid wedding planning Summer was in constant communication with me basically acting as a stand in wedding planner that I didn’t have. She constantly kept me up to date on info and made things happen for me. We could not have had the beautiful wedding we had without her. The food from Chelo’s was also top notch. Everyone raved about the filet and the pasta dish as well as the hors d'oeuvres. We couldn’t have picked a better catering company for our event.

I worked with Summer Murphy mostly on the phone due to the covid pandemic. She was so supportive and helpful the whole time. I must have spoke with her and Allison a hundred times and they were perfect. The venue was beautiful on the water. The staff from management to servers were so great from start to finish. Our family and friends raved about the food! We had our perfect day! Thank you Chelo's on the Waterfront in Warwick!!

Food was AMAZING and were able to accommodate a last minute request due to one of the bridesmaids having an unknown food request. The wedding party loved the room rental and we had prompt service with all of the waitresses. Each of them were very friendly and made sure the event went above and beyond the call of duty. Thank you Chelo's for doing such an amazing job accommodating us!

The banquet department worked with us for food and the East Providence Chelo's back room was just big enough for our wedding reception. Morganne was AWESOME. The food was terrific!

The food was fantastic, so delicious; everyone enjoyed the buffet & many had seconds. The room looked awesome & so was Chelo's wait staff. I definitely recommend your location for a great wedding reception!!!

Tammy and Rena were more than helpful and everything was wonderful on the day of the reception!
