For more than a century, Chatham Bars Inn has been Cape Cod's premier oceanfront luxury resort, operating year-round, delighting generations of families, couples, and vacationers who seek a luxury resort experience with the charm and ambience that is as historical as Cape Cod itself. The Inn sits at the elbow of Cape Cod, a short stroll from Chatham's quaint Main Street and just two hours from Boston and Providence. The elegant oceanfront resort overlooks Aunt Lydia's Cove and beyond to the Atlantic Ocean. A grand main inn and dozens of seaside cottages reinforce the quintessential New England charm. Expansive lawns and meticulously landscaped gardens give way to endless views in every direction, creating the perfect backdrop for memorable celebrations. Welcome to Chatham Bars Inn, Cape Cod's most beautiful address.
In the summer of 1914, the Chatham Bars Inn opened its doors and welcomed the world, beginning a tradition of gracious hospitality that lives on to this day. Prominent Boston stockbrocker Charles Ashley Hardy acquired the land in 1912, and within one year, the main inn, nine seaside cottages, and a golf course had been constructed. With deep-sea and harbor fishing available at its doorstep, the Inn quickly became a popular hunting lodge for smortsmen. The Chatham Bars Inn has hosted the Dutch Royal Family, Henry Ford, and William Rockefeller and became a year-round resort in 1988, with extensive renovations taking place over the course of several years. The result is a marriage of timeless character and classic New England charm with the sophisticated comforts of today.
The breathtaking views take center stage, ensuring an intriguing and ever-changing backdrop for your special event. Whether you are hosting a wedding reception with a roaring fire in the background or a toes-in-the-sand summer clambake, the professional staff will orchestrate every detail with the utmost care to ensure that your celebration is everything you dreamed it would be. The Monomoy Ballroom, with its spectacular soaring ceilings and the STARS Dining Room, perched high on a bluff in the Inn's main building both offer perfect settings for elegant dinners amid magnificent decor. Situated at the water's edge, the Beach House Grill is the ideal location for a waterfront reception, brunch, barbecue, or bonfire, while the adjacent Boathouse features 20-foot vaulted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling glass doors opening to an adjoining deck with panoramic views. Photo opportunities abound on the 25-acre resort, including the pristine quarter-mile private beach and manicured croquet green on the South Lawn. The Chatham Bars Inn fleet of boats is also available for photo shoots. Exchange vows alfresco on the beach or on one of many beautiful lawns, each with a character all its own.
The Chatham Bars Inn is the picture-perfect destination wedding locale, with 217 guest rooms that provide tranquil seaside elegance with state-of-the-art convinience and amenities. The historic main building has been recently restored to its original grandeur and features beautifully appointed guest rooms that exuse the character and charm of an earlier era. Most rooms enjoy sweeping ocean views, the Inn's veranda, lounges and restaurants are centrally located steps away. Twenty-six charming cottages can be found situated throughout the property, high atop a seaside bluff, nestled in landcaped gardens, and dotted along the quarter-mile of private beach. From cozy rooms to spacious suites, they're equally suitable for couples, families and large groups. The Spa Suites, located above the spa, set a new standard for luxury on Cape Cod. These 600-square-foot suites cater to adults seeking spa surroundings, each featuring an oversized hydrotherapy tub, sauna, steam shower, and fireplace. Guests have easy access to the spa facilities, including the outdoor relaxation pool and Japanese Zen Garden.
