What I believe I do differently is truly feel your day. I will say it over and over again without shame—I am a very emotional person. So when I'm at your wedding, I'm imagining how you feel, I feel the colors of your wedding, I feel how the light falls on you during post-ceremony portraits. I try not to cry when you dance with your parents, and by the end of the evening, I understand why you are so close to the people who shared the day with you. I give minimal direction; I'm mostly an observer.

Then later, when I'm processing your images, I feel everything again. I listen to music that makes me feel lovey dovey; I drink tea that smells calming (even though I never finish a cup). You will remember exactly what your day felt like, with even more clarity, because on that day, it was a gorgeous, sweaty whirlwind.
