I ended up with a dress way outside of my original budget, and as a result the prospect of finding someone to do good alterations became an even more stressful search. Never having had anything altered before, I didn't even know where to start. The wedding dress shop referred me to a couple of people, one being Genevieve, who right off the bat seemed to have good prices, was knowledgeable, and was nearby. Over the course of the next 4 months, I saw her at least 4 times for alterations. It was clear from the moment I met her that she is truly an expert when it comes to wedding dress alterations. She gave me tips and tricks at every appointment, and was very thorough in her evaluation of how my dress needed to be altered and when. She left the boning in the waist area for last to ensure that the dress would fit perfectly on the day of. Not only was my dress expertly fitted to me, it was somehow also extremely comfortable. She took extra care in everything she did, including adjusting some loops where my separate train attached. She took the time to show my Maid of Honor how to bustle, put on/take off the train, and button the back (30+ buttons) quickly. She was great to work with, very reasonably priced, and I plan to see her again for future alterations. I can't recommend her highly enough.
