Jan was far more than a caterer for us; she went with us to pick out linens and answered my texts, calls and emails around the clock. She was so knowledgeable about everything we had questions about for the wedding and was like a second wedding planner for us. I can't recommend Chef Jan enough! I absolutely would chose her again to cater our wedding. The food and service was fabulous, you can't do better than Jan.

Chef Jan and her staff were wonderful in every way. It was a hot day and everyone wanted to be inside in the air conditioning. The staff worked around all of us smiling and making the day so enjoyable. The food was exceptional and I will not hesitate to use them again.

Chef Jan was a perfect fit for our event.
The wedding and reception we planned was only three or four weeks away when we contacted her. She quickly pulled together a tasting and was able to accommodate our date. The food was delicious and many guests commented on the beautiful presentation as well.
I happily recommend Catering by Design.

Janet was a pleasure to work with for this wedding! Her professionalism and food were top notch, and her willingness to work with us was incredible. The bride was from Germany and most of her guests were flying in for the wedding. This made confirming the guest list a logistical nightmare. Janet completely understood and worked with us to adjust the number as it continued to fluctuate all the way up to two weeks before the wedding! She went out of her way to make a German Spaetzle, something she does not have on her normal menu, just to make the Bride feel more at home! She even got us a chocolate fountain for the reception! If you hire her for your wedding, you will NOT be disappointed!!!

Catering By Design did a fabulous job for us. Their food was delicious and beautifully presented. Plus, Chef Jan was a joy to work with. We started out planning a party for 125, but ended up expanding to 250 guests. Chef Jan adapted along with us, offering creative suggestions about our menu and table lay-out to handle the increased crowd. She was always available and responsive, and completely dependable. She and her staff were efficient and highly professional. Our party guests are still talking weeks later about how good the food was. Thanks to Catering By Design our party was a huge success!

The food was very tasty but A) we were told rented dishware would be washed and re-racked; however, upon returning to the venue the next morning, we found all of the dirty dishes stacked in the kitchen-- they had not even been rinsed. B) multiple guests told us that Chef Jan was rather rude to them. She later apologized to one of the guests, but so far, at least 5 people have reported Jan being short with them. C) After our ceremony, we immediately went outside to take our formal pictures, and our wedding coordinator stated that Jan was requesting dinner to be served before we even re-entered the venue. D) Several guests complained there was not enough appetizers. E) Our own wedding cake was cut and served without any slices being saved for us-- the two people GETTING FREAKING MARRIED. Overall, it was quality food and an affordable price, and Jan was very flexible with us regarding timing and the use of their equipment. With that being said, the lack of professionalism left something to be desired.

*If you're on a budget, and want to work with someone flexible, go with Chef Jan. Otherwise, look elsewhere.*
