Located in Potrero Beach in the northwest region of Guanacaste, the castle is in one of the most touristic areas of the country. This remarkable castle is situated on the highest peak of the surrounding mountains, at a height of 1400 feet above sea level, in a strategic and sensational peak where it allows for 360-degree panoramic views. The original engineer of this masterpiece dedicated his last work in the name of love. Building a fortress of maximum protection, it was the promise he had made to his fiancée and his little baby Lilo before they made the grave decision to try to escape from a war-torn Germany. Refusing to submit to an oppressive system devoid of freedom until the end. Unfortunately, during this attempt, his fiancée and baby Lilo died while crossing a minefield. Castillo de Lilo is the ultimate symbol of protection and eternal love.

My wife, Vel, and I celebrated our wedding reception at Castillo de Lilo on Monday, February 5, 2024. Marco & Ericka went above & beyond. Vel & I originally wanted a typical Costa Rican dinner, and they provided us with a complimentary dinner sampling when we came to scout the locations in August of 2023. We decided to scrap that idea and go with a hybrid of their menu options. Marco is a top chef! On the evening of our wedding reception, Vel and I had planned to change outfits, but I forgot to add them to the transport pile, so only my black slacks made it. I can only blame myself for that error! Vel, in a panic, I assume, said I would come out shirtless. I knew that that was how I would end the night, but Ericka wasn't having it, so she immediately took me to Marco's work closet and grabbed me a dress shirt. What a lifesaver! The dress shirt you can see me wearing in the pics I've added is Marco's, and it looks fabulous! Vel & I were also having issues with our wire transfer, so Ericka came to where we stayed with a credit card reader to get it done. Once again, thank you! Vel & I highly recommend Castillo de Lilo, Marco, and Ericka!

The most beautiful venue
Castillo de lilo is a one of a kind venue! The story is so beautiful, and the owners Erika and Marco are some of the kindest people in the world. They are professional and helpful, and recommended great vendors in the area. And the food was amazing!!
So many of our wedding guests said it felt like a Disney movie to attend a wedding at a castle on the hill. If I had to plan my wedding over again, I would choose this venue every single time!

Could not ask for more!
My husband and I got married at Castillo de lilo February 2023. It was great to work with Ericka, she was a great help and always available to answer questions with a quick response. The food was amazing as were the drinks. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful with an incredible view for both the wedding ceremony and reception. She was very flexible with having to change a lot of the set up last minute as well. Overall, having my wedding at this venue was the best decision and made my wedding absolutely perfect.

Wedding at Castillo
Ericka and Marco planned out small family wedding in December 2022. We still talk about how amazing our wedding was. We were blown away by the attention to detail and the care that was put into making our day exactly what we had hoped for, and more! The food was phenomenal, the venue was breathtaking, the hosts were gracious and thoughtful ... there was nothing that we would have changed. We will remember our day for many, many years to come.

Best personalized celebration for a romantic dinner on top of a castle with the most beautiful backdrop: lush jungle mountains over the pacific ocean.
Epic celebration of life. Where jungle meets the ocean on top of the world, 360 degree views of peninsulas, bays, pristine beaches, lush green mountains, and even volcanoes!! In a castle in Costa Rica with the best hosts Marco and Ericka, you could ask for. Truly special people and place to enjoy.

The TOP of the TOP!
Arriving at Castillo de Lilo is an instant transport to a magical place, the view, the silence, and the serenity are almost indescribable, it feels as though the real world below can not reach you. At least until the guests arrive and PARTY starts!
One of the few places where you can start partying and not stop at 10pm. This was an outstanding and unique place for our company get-together. Everything was fantastic, the appetizer style food was delicious and seemed straight from Tuscany, the bar service was spot on and the local live musician Erica and Marco suggested made the whole atmosphere even more special. I can't recommend the place, or the hosts, enough! Thank You!

Amazing experience

One of a kind - MAGICAL venue!
We were the wedding videographers for wedding held at Castillo de Lilo and it was unbelievable. We have been to many venues in Costa Rica and this one is so different! It is a REAL castle and the energy there is so pure.
You have a 360 view of the beautiful Costa Rican mountains and ocean for miles upon miles. Another huge plus to booking this venue for your wedding is how isolated it is. The castle is entirely yours. You can be as loud as you want for as long as you want!
Marco & Ericka are such great people to work with as well. They are hard-working and honest people who truly care about making your day as special as it can possibly be.
Highly recommended. I hope we get to shoot again there very soon!!

Most helpful in planning a family event and working with several dietary constraints. It was great.
The facility is one of a kind. The geographic location and views of the bay one of the best in Costa Rica. The hosts were easy to work with and extremely hospitable. If you want an event to remember this is the place!!
