Facilities and Capacity

The “Hall of Capacci” can host up to 120 guests, with options for additional seating. Additional seating can be set up in the adjacent grounds. You will have flexibility in arranging your celebrations with both indoor and outdoor facilities available for your ceremony and reception. Parking is available on-site.

The castle’s 158-hectare farm in the local commune of Monteriggioni includes vineyards in a climate well-suited to wine-growing. You can feel assured that the wines will be of high-quality with locally-grown grapes. The castle does not offer its own on-site catering service. However the friendly staff are more than happy to recommend local caterers and coordinate with your vendors of choice.

Accommodation

For accommodation in the vicinity of the castle, you will have the option of rooms or apartments. The rooms are within an 18th-century building in the castle hamlet, in a Tuscan Renaissance style. They come complete with stone walls, wooden beams, and brickwork, while still hosting modern amenities such as LCD televisions and air conditioning. The apartments are comfortable service flats in a variety of architectural styles.

History

Castel Pietraio’s 11th-century stone battlements have seen centuries of history, with a succession of families involved in the struggles and glories of the medieval era. The current successors to the castle are the Barons Neri Del Nero, who renovated the castle in the 1970’s. Now the castle shares its heritage and atmosphere with guests from near and far.

Castel Pietraio is located in the area of Monteriggioni, a 23-minute drive from Siena. You can enjoy scenic villages such as the Badia A Isola and Colle Val D'Elsa. The castle is a one-hour drive from Florence and a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Rome.
