Our wedding cake was one of the details my husband was most excited about, and this team absolutely exceeded every expectation.

We were originally planning to do a take-home tasting, but a last-minute cancellation opened up an in-person tasting—and we are so grateful it happened. It turned into such a special experience and made us even more excited for our wedding day.

A few months later, we even did a second take-home tasting because we decided to change our cake flavors, and we’re so glad we did! We ended up choosing pumpkin for one tier and their signature coconut flavor for the other, and they were both incredible. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how delicious the cake was, and we heard compliments all night long.

Rachel was wonderful to work with. She was so kind, patient, and incredibly talented. I had saved different design elements from several cakes I loved, and she seamlessly brought them together into one cohesive design that was even more beautiful than I had envisioned. She even incorporated the love of our lives—our Siberian Husky—into the cake, which made it feel so personal and meaningful.

The cake itself was a true work of art. It was elegant, elevated, and fit our wedding perfectly while tasting just as amazing as it looked.

We truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience, and we’re already looking forward to celebrating our first anniversary with the top tier. Thank you for creating such a beautiful and delicious part of our wedding day.

We ordered a three-tier, 100-serving cake from “Cakes by Rachel” for our Charlottesville area wedding. The tasting was a really fun experience as we tried the different combinations, and after discussing with Rachel, we found the perfect components for our cake. The delivery went smoothly and everyone absolutely loved both the look of the cake, and of course the taste. Rachel and her team are excellent: we can’t recommend them enough!

Rachel has crafted a sensational collection of cakes, creams, curds, and frostings that makes picking one or two such a challenge. Everything from the tasting to the design process to the finished cake was exceptional. She is a true artist and our finished cake exceeded every hope we had - it was beautiful and delicious! Working with Cakes by Rachel was an absolute dream! Rachel created the most beautiful and delicious wedding cake we could have imagined, it was by far the best cake we’ve ever had. Our guests are still raving about the desserts! We had almond cake shooters, caramel apple and strawberry rhubarb pies, chocolate chip cookies, cream cheese brownies, and vanilla macarons. Not only was everything stunningly beautiful, but the flavors were incredible. She captured our vision perfectly and was such a pleasure to work with throughout the process. We cannot recommend her enough!

Rachel and her team at Cakes by Rachel created the most amazing wedding cake imaginable! When we walked into our venue and saw our cake for the first time, we were absolutely wowed. Rachel had captured and elevated our vision perfectly (in particular, the sugar flowers were truly a work of art). And of course beyond its beauty, the cake was absolutely delicious. Our guests couldn't stop talking about how yummy it was (and I can't personally remember ever tasting a wedding cake that good), and we loved it so much we ate leftover cake for breakfast the next day. Rachel and her team were also an absolute joy to work with throughout the entire process of designing the cake. They made everything so easy and fun, and our cake tasting was a total blast. Rachel is truly an artist, and from start to finish, we felt like we were in the best hands possible with Cakes by Rachel. I cannot recommend Rachel highly enough for any couple looking for a wedding cake that is both stunning and delicious!! Go book Rachel if you are lucky enough to have the opportunity! (She was literally the first vendor we booked because were just that excited that she was free on our wedding day, and you should do the same :))

We wanted to send a huge, heartfelt thank you to Rachel and her team for preparing the most delicious and beautiful wedding cake for Katie and Jon's wedding! It was truly a showstopper and absolutely breathtaking against the backdrop of the event space at King Family Vineyard. The delicate flowers on it were executed with perfection, tying in seamlessly with the overall aesthetic of the reception, especially the florals and the linens. We really noticed and appreciated how every detail came together.

Rachel is a true artist! She was so amazing to work with for our April 2024 wedding in Charlottesville. The tasting and design meeting was both so much fun and also very informative as Rachel really knows her craft. She executed the exact vision I had for a cake and made it even better than I had imagined. Our wedding guests were lining up for more cake and everyone was raving about how delicious it was. Do yourself a favor if you are in the Charlottesville/Crozet area and hire Rachel!

We used cakes by Rachel for our Wedding and its was wonderful. The cake tasting experience was so much fun and they did a phenomenal job of helping us identify options for making a truly unique (and delicious) cake. Since our wedding was in December we ended up going with a gingerbread cake that was so much better than I would have expected. We Highly recommend them!
