The cake was delicious and looked exactly as requested. Pricing was very reasonable and Maureen was a pleasure to work with.

She was awesome to work with. I told her my vision on why I wanted and she exceeded my expectations. The cake was beautiful and delicious.

We wanted a wedding cake that wasn't just beautiful to look at and for photo ops, but one that was delicious to eat as well. Maureen provided both of these items on our wish list to the highest degree. She was open to my suggestions for the cake design, which was difficult because of the Scottish theme. The cake flavors were almond and chocolate, and tasted homemade. Maureen baked our cake fresh, just two days before the wedding. It was a noted freshness remarked on by our guests. At the end of the reception our guests were begging for pieces of cake to take home! Maureen provided all these wonderful memories for a very humble price. She could easily command a higher per slice price for her quality work!

Cakes by Maureen was excellent. She was flexible when we wanted a tasting even though both my husband and I went into it not knowing a thing about what we should ask or what to do. Maureen was very organized and created our vision of the perfect cake. AND it was delicious!

Maureen's cake was amazing! We had 2 layers of chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and 1 layer of yellow w/strawberry. It was very delicious! Everyone complimented on the cake. The best thing for me was her home made chocolate ganache! She was very flexible with the cake design and the time to deliver. She was very responsive to us. I would definitely recommend her, especially if you are chocolate lover. :)

We were delighted with the cake. We had a small wedding cake and a kitchen cake with two flavored: almond and chocolate. Maureen provided lots of choices of flavored and fillings at the tasting. Speaking with friends after the wedding several mentioned the cake specifically. I asked which flavor they tried and the response was "both"! No surprise there wasn't much left to take home.

The cake was delicious and the design was a perfect match to the invitation colors and pattern. I would definitely recommend Maureen!

I have received many many compliments about the tast of the cake being exceptional. The design was executed pretty well.

Overall, I was very displeased with my wedding cake. Although the guests said the cake was delicous, It was flawed in appearance and didn't seem that there was much attention paid to detail -- almost as if it was a rushed job. I didn't save the top layer of the cake for our anniversary; instead, we saved it until after our honeymoon only to find that it was burned around the edges, so we ate it from the center.

Our cake was a 3-tiered round cake to serve 100 people. It was supposed to say "J + R" on it for "Rob and Jenni". It was also supposed to have flowers on top that were burgandy to match our color scheme. On wedding day, it came with purple icing and flowers instead of burgandy, and worse yet...it had a big letter "P" on the side, and THAT'S IT! Who's "P"?! We had to turn it around backwards and take off the icing so people would stop asking what the "P" was for. How do you screw that up on a $550 dollar cake?

When emailing back and forth, Maureen was also very short with my wife concerning payment. We emailed her asking when she would like payment, got no email back for a month or so, and then got a rude email demanding payment right away and narrowing the payment options. Overall we are very unhappy with the service we paid for.
