My name is Joe, and I'm the owner of Bulger Creative Co., a wedding photography company based in Kansas City, Missouri.

I love getting to be a photographer

I've been privileged to be chosen to document weddings and documentary projects around the world for over 9 years now

I get to share in all of these rich experiences while documenting every detail. From the small details to the sharing of tears between the bride and her mom, the groom being embraced by his new family, or the reunion of friends who haven’t seen each other in years.

I’m an observer first, than a photographer

I observe everything and photograph all those moments and events. From that I craft a unique story from many different points of view and with an earnest creative excellence. For me, one of the most important parts is sharing the day on a deep level with my clients. Which is the crux of capturing a detailed and beautiful photo essay of two stories coming together

I document everything with a photojournalistic approach, and with strong, classically influenced, portraiture to tell a complete story. I focus on the micro expression, but also the big details of time, place and setting

I stay far away from very posed images, but allow the portrait time of the day to be a free flowing enjoyable experience. My process for capturing portraits consists of gentle directing, and conversation to make the experience comfortable, all the while making space for you and your partner to be comfortable enough to let those micro expressions show and the love will read from the image stronger than anything

My mission is to be a ready to help, positive force on the wedding day and provide you with images what you will cherish for the rest of your lives
