Bryce Resort is a beautiful mountainside wedding venue in Basye, Virginia. This outdoor adventure resort provides couples with everything they need to create a perfect wedding day. Bryce Resort is set in the midst of Shenandoah Valley, nestled between the Blue Ridge and Allegheny Mountains. The breathtaking views are what attract couples, but the unparallelled service and accommodating venue spaces are what make them stay. Whether you’re planning an intimate gathering or want to host the wedding of the year, Bryce Resort will work with you to help make your dreams come true.
Facilities and Capacity
Bryce Resort offers both outdoor and indoor sites to host your ceremony and reception. The two most popular outdoor spaces are Laura Lake and the Mountain Top. You can take the quad lift to the top of the Bryce Resort mountain, and catch a stunning view of Locher Bowl and White Lightening ski trails on your wedding day. Or, set up the party at Lake Laura, the 47-acre spring-fed lake that mirrors the sunsets during early evening events. For indoor events, the Copper Kettle Restaurant, Bar, and Lounge provides a quaint, vintage-style reception space your guests are sure to love. The restaurant features a stone fireplace with a heavy distressed mantle for keeping guest warm during winter weddings. It also gives guests a stunning view of the slopes with it’s floor to ceiling windows. The Copper Kettle Bar and Lounge is the perfect place to start cocktail hour. It features a U-shaped bar and more modern decor than the vintage mountain restaurant portion of the building. Bryce Resort will host another reception venue, The Shenandoah Center, in December of 2018. It also features floor to ceiling windows, a stone fireplace, and contemporary decor but will have a stone patio to give you and your guests more space to celebrate.
Services Offered
Bryce Resort offers several packages to meet the needs of any wedding style. The restaurant is open for rehearsal dinner rentals as well as day-after wedding brunches. The resort encourages the bridal party to use their amenities for other events, such as a bridal shower or tea, or a groom’s golf outing at the resort’s facilities. While Bryce Resort does not have on-site lodging, there are plenty of cabin rentals and nearby hotels for your guests to stay throughout the wedding weekend.

The Planning Process:
Planning a wedding can be stressful, but Alyssa made it seamless. They were extremely responsive to all our emails and calls, making sure no detail was left to chance.
The Execution:
The day before and the day of the wedding, the staff was incredible. They were there for us through every transition—from the initial setup to the final teardown. I didn't have to worry about a thing, which allowed me to actually enjoy my day.
The Experience:
The Views: Absolutely breathtaking. Our photos are stunning, but seeing the mountain in person is an experience of its own.
The Service: Top-notch. The staff is professional, kind, and efficient.
The Feedback: We’ve had so many guests tell us it was the "wedding of the year" or the best wedding they have ever attended.

Perfect Spot for Our Wedding
Since we had our rehearsal dinner at the top of the mountain and our reception at the gorgeous Shenandoah Center, we made a whole weekend of our wedding, having all of our guests stay in ski houses around the mountain. This aspect made it so special because we weren't just confined to one night to see all of our guests. My husband and I were able to go around the mountain saying our hello's (and goodbye's).
We rescheduled from May 16th due to COVID, and Bryce worked with us every step of the way.
Our weekend was magical, incredible, and all the other words that mean amazing. And with Bryce as the backdrop, it was just the cherry on top. Both my husband and I went to JMU so it was a sense of homecoming as well for our family and friends.
Bryce was perfect and will forever have a special place in our hearts.
