We booked Rowena fairly last minute as our original officiant had to suddenly cancel. Well, we’re glad we did because she was amazing! We spoke with her on the phone in advance so she could get to know us and we got a great vibe from her. She also asked for our love story in advance, which we appreciated. We really wanted to have at last some Hawaiian cultural traditions as part of our ceremony, and Rowena did a great job of explaining these traditions to us. She also provided a great idea on how to incorporate our families into the ceremony.
On the day of the wedding, Rowena blessed everyone in the wedding party moments before the ceremony, calming everyone’s nerves. During the ceremony, though she spoke softly, everything she said was beautiful and brought tears to everyone’s eyes. When the wind knocked over the table with the water she was going to use to bless our rings, she didn’t skip a beat. Afterward, she stayed and spoke with a number of our guests, which they told us they appreciated. We would highly recommend her to anyone getting married on the Big Island!
